Another very rocky pool excavation

The soil test said no rock... can you believe that?! We took truck load after truck load out of this site, all had to be broken down to smaller than usual size and carted out the very narrow side access. Another tricky rock removal job where we utilised a combination of Expando (expanding chemical cracking agent) and regular high explosives, in a high density residential area. Job done, no damage, no complaints

Can't help thinking just how costly it'll be to make an in-ground pool when all the rock work needs done first! Nice results from the cracking goo. That mini Kabota is a real gem... pretty tedious though getting all the rock pieces freed up and removed. Good ol' plugs and feathers - the classic old-style approach, centuries old, even if a bit slow. Great to see the 'pop' as things release. Blasting did a nice job too. :)

It would drastically reduce the chances of a house fire catching a neighbouring building at the least.

Every excavator I've been in here in the USA has a switch to silence the beeping
@demolitiondavedrillandblast
I've been using a new 20T Cat machine over the last few days and the beeper that tells you that you are changing buckets is so loud that I need ear plugs in! Not very impressed with the digger.

@@demolitiondavedrillandblast I don't think you can silence the bucket change alert, but I bet it has a volume control, the problem will be figuring out where to look in the computer

You guys need to strike up a deal with Mexico to bring in some laborers for excavations like that. 10 Mexicans could have that hole cleared in about 10 hours. They are some serious diggers.
