I've said it before Alex and will again; You do a GREAT job securing your customer's loads. I think GOOD DOT officers can tell at a quick glance that you know what you're doing and also that others don't.
Alex any chance we could get more driving footage, as someone who watches from the Middle East I’m always fascinated by the scenery that US based truck drivers drive through, love the content 👍🏻
Good stuff man. I’ll soon be doing this. A little nervous to be out on my own. I’m training with my brother in law. I’ve been watching videos on how to do the binder chains and I like your method. Thank you for posting this video bro. Be safe out there.
Thank you! I was nervous to be on my own for the first time too but it’s really not that bad. Just be sure to pay attention to make sure everything is secured properly. Double check and you’ll be fine. Good luck!
When I would get stuck in areas occasionally with no loads I did two things. I either took a load anywhere just to keep moving and hopefully it’s a better area for freight if look for short local loads in state. Sometimes even a couple hundred miles is all it takes to change your situation. Good luck!
Outstanding video as always Alex keep making them. I’m gonna go back and look, but did you happen to make an update on how the heater setup is working and how much diesel is burning overnight also thanks for showing the different strapping methods and punching the side of that crate makes sense. I’ve just never seen that done before and showing the different chaining methods I think that’s what’s making your channel so successful you’re constantly making them different entertaining and very valuable for someone who’s trying to learn what to do and how to get set up
Thank you! Happy to hear you are enjoying the videos. I have kit made an update. Idea on the diesel heater. I need to. It’s the best winter investment anyone can make.
@@Mr.AlexKogan I forgot to say also very good audio. I don’t know if you changed it or what you did, but it sounded really good and it’s pretty cool having the camera angles where you backed up over the camera I was hoping you weren’t gonna run over it, but you had it down.
@@tg9388 I haven’t done anything different with audio. Sometimes depending where the camera is and if there’s wind, the audio may come out quieter than other times. Glad to hear that the audio sounds better though. Eventually I’ll get a wireless mic and it’ll be even better. 👍🏻
@@Mr.AlexKogan I’ll be spending the weekend doing some truck maintenance time to do the differential fluid the third time I’m trying to do it a little bit more often a little bit sooner than what the manufacturer recommends for the Duramax. I think they say every 50 but I’m doing it every 35.
@@tg9388 I’ve done that several times already on mine. Annoying because on Ram we don’t have a drain plug so you have to take the cover off to drain. Banks makes a nice cover with a drain plug and a little window to see fluid level.
Thank you! The first one might happen in the future. The second one I agree. I will be fixing my deck because a few boards broke the screws and they are popping up. That on a list of things to fix for sure.
You are incorrect. Each one of my chains has a working load limit of 6,600lb. I’m using two chains which means they can hold 13,200lb. That machine weighs 6200lb. If the machine weighed more than 13,200lb then I would need 4 independent securement points.
@Mr.AlexKogan --- I agree with you -- but in practice the guys on the side of the road want the four independent securements. I'm basing this on NY and PA, they are often unhappy. It beats arguing with them about the weight of the machine. Thanks for your reply.
@davidnull5590 anything under 10k pounds you only need two tie down points anything over that you have to cover half the weight of the equipment with at least 4 independent points of contact
That 15' wide definitely has to pay way more $5/mi atleast min $7.5-8/mi on a low end being cheap but you don't want to do that especially with that width and with that requiring more then likely 2 escort which would eat your rate up quickly along with permits, I'm Glad you pass it up fyi
@Mr.AlexKogan Yeah you're right about that. But I'm based out of GA so running all of southeast into Mississippi and as far up as Virginia has been working out pretty good. One place I can't ever seem to get out of is Florida, I don't know how you do it!
@@albertotrejo8531 Inusually don’t take my truck and trailer to Florida. I leave them in the Midwest and fly home unless there is a really good load that takes me to Florida.
Cdl almost 2yrs, company driver right now big rig reefer hauling. I bought 2024 Ram 3500 dually 6.7 crew cab, bigtex 14gn 33ft w/ramps with 15.9k gvwr, got my LLC but thinking of leasing on with someone before getting my own MC. What's you recommendation? I'll upgrade to a 26k trailer later. I think my gvwr combined is about 29.9k gvwr. Thanks
@@Mr.AlexKogan I was rolling to Indiana with a load and saw a setup exactly like yours the lettering on his window even looked the same, figured I’d ask. Stay safe out there!
All has to do with the height of the load. With that last load in the video, which was 12,000lb roughly, I was getting around 10.5 mpg. If the load is tall but not heavy I’d get worse mpg because of wind drag. Also depends if you’re in the mountains or on flat road. Overall my average is 9-10 mpg
@@Mr.AlexKogan Another quick question. While you’re on reset where do you drop your trailer to hit the gym, can you leave it at the truckstop for a few hours or do you put it in a trailer lot? Thank you
Dont worry bout him alex 😢 just keep doing your thing and i appreciate what you do so much i dont yet have a trailer but im working on it and your my biggest inspiration 🎉
