How they've handled Satisfactory (I bought it a week or two after initial EA release) made me check out Valheim as well. Both great examples of how EA games should be. Now I just need to check out Goat Simulators, then look forward to what they do next.

Just to clarify for others: NDA will apply to the content in closed beta FOREVER. No content from the Closed Beta is ever allowed to be shown to others.

Often, but not always. And even if there is an expiration they are usually several years later. In the video he said several times that they were not planning to allow people to talk or post about the beta experience even afterward so I would not expect a short expiration period.

For everyone talking about max NDA time or whatever, you are correct but at the same time they are clear they don't want it released. Even if you become legally allowed, you won't be making any friends by releasing it. After that much time I doubt they will care that much since relevance will be low, I just want to point out it isn't exactly good form to try to find a way around an NDA you haven't even agreed to yet. The purpose of an NDA in this context is to allow them the confidence and comfort to expand out a closed beta to a larger set of potential players beyond normal QA teams. This lets them get better and more varied feedback to improve the game for everyone. If companies can't trust the NDA will be upheld or can be worked around, they might just choose to never do things like this and instead rely solely on small QA teams and internal testing. That is a worse world for everyone. I do get why people hate NDAs in general, especially since they can be used for really evil ends. I just wanted to defend them in this narrow context is all.

@@pinaz993 No, conveyor lifts were added in an earlier patch to the experimental branch. I started on a later stable release of U1. I think it was patch 0.1.12 build 99303, now that I'm looking at the change log. That build number looks oddly familiar XD

@@roelf8044 not a matter of it running bad i use epic for a lot of games like rocket league. fortnite, Doki Doki Literiture Club, just not satisfactory. i only play games on epic if they are not avalible else where or i was given an amazing deal (Doki Doki Literiture Club PLUS was on epic for free)

Good to hear that content creators aren't going to be able to spoiler 1.0 stuff by pumping out as many videos as they can in the first few days on 10-15 story tricks tips and so on which kills any sense of discovery in a game.

They are pushing you a game that has been in development since 2014!!! year, in 2019 it barely, in a half-dead state, entered early access, which has been in development for 5 years already, this game has been in development for 9 years and there is enough content in it for 100 hours of play. Horror. Don’t embarrass yourself with your words about development standards, if everyone works like these mediocrities, we won’t see new games soon. PS. There were 500 hours on the account before the 3rd update. Then I realized that this is another project with endless development

This game truly has endless hours of fun to it and I'm so excited to see where it goes now with 1.0 coming out. We finally get to see what the Somersloops and Mercer spheres are for as well as SAM ore, its so incredibly exciting. Yall have put so much care into the game and it really shows. Still pumped! And still can't hardly believe the journey is nearly over, this is probably the only Early Access game I've ever wanted to last a couple more years. LOL! There's no way I could sign up for the beta play testing though, I want to be 100% laid to the floor in awe with this game like I used to be when I was a kid. As a content creator, I am very thankful about how you're not allowing content of closed-beta POST-release. This is a fair approach and makes me feel like I have an "equal chance" whether I'm selected for closed beta or not! (Not to mention some content creators, potentially myself included, don't want to try the beta because they want to wait for the full "official" experience)

Man, I really hope I get selected for the closed beta. I absolutely love the game, and having been a gamer for over 30 years, I can tell when a company actually cares about their game and the people who play it. Coffee Stain Studios clearly have very passionate devs, and it shows. I play other games that don't work a quarter as well as Satisfactory, and some of them have been out for several years. I want to be a part of something that is made by people who love what they do. There aren't many games that I can play for 12+ hours a day without getting bored. Satisfactory is one of them. Whether I'm selected or not, thank you, Coffee Stain Studios!

I have 300 hours in game, but I even if I have all of these hours I still learn a lot, and I started following the game from when it was first released in 2019 and recently bought it after I finally got my pc (I played 40 hours in the first 4 days)

I do so 3 times and I am happy about every single one. - I got one in the Humble Bundle (which in the end went to a friend to play together) - I got one on epic early on - I got one on steam to share with my son and play together In the end I was the only one really active but anyway it's a great game and I look forward to finally play it again in 1.0 (or in beta)

I just hope you guys find a way to flatten the curve of progression a bit before going into 1.0. I bought the game as soon as it was available and have zero regrets, but in all honesty I have never reached "end game". Partly because I didn't want to do a full playthrough without the story elements but mostly because the leaps of progression can be overwhelming and offputting. The first one for me was around the coal&steel milestone, then again for oil and trains. Idk, maybe I just have a disorganised mind and very little mental fortitude, but going from having to do only a few things (

Closed beta or not, I am so HYPED!!! I stopped playing on my early access save last year and saving up all my energy and cravings for the release. I will be ready do build my new factory from scratch! Hopefully the release is not in Q4 thought that might make me a little sad haha

I must ask for the multiplayer aspect, y’all said that ppl with a key can invite ppl w/o a key…is that right? If so the key holder has an NDA ( non disclosure agreement) how will that same NDA be applied, if at all, to the ppl being invited? Or will the ppl being invited/joining will need to be under the same NDA?

My reasoning: due to the rest of my life I'm not able to provide the necessary playing time to give as much feedback to the developers as I think they all deserve. But I will 100% enjoy Satisfactory once it gets released. Looking forward to 1.0

It'd be nice to get some kind of suggested way for players to plan for 1.0. If I load a pre-1.0 save, will I start halfway into the story? Will the story only kick in if you make a new 1.0 save? Will I be able to turn off the story if I just want a free build mode? Etc, etc.

Hi Snutt, just want to note that an argument in favour of letting influencers release the closed beta footage would be so they can show their genuine reaction to the new content. I for one would really love to see how they explore and follow the main storyline. So if they see some important part in the closed beta which they cannot show it could take away from their 1.0 play through. But of course there could be more importantly arguments not in favour. But yeah, just wanted to share why I would prefer if the closed beta stuff could be shown at least after the full release.

Remember that you can't use mods if you got chosen for a closed beta! It's not for playing, it's for software testing, to make sure all systems are working properly. So you will have to play with every feature right up to making the last item for the space elevator. Good luck with that report!

Hope I'll be selected. I played Satisfactory using a friend account and progressed through tier 1-5 I think. Then I stopped, bought the game and now I've been waiting for the 1.0 since september 2022. I recalled having had balance issues with production lines (difficult to efficiently separate production between factories in the most efficient way without counting/scripting by opposition to games like Factorio. Only mean for me was to build single production line coupled with huge storage capacity to smooth the production. Like so many players, can't wait for the whole content especially narrative adjunctions. If timing makes sens, we can hope for a closed beta, of something like a 3 months period, sometimes near april 2024 for a public release in september/october. If I'm not in the beta, waiting will be very very long...

I wont even attempt to join the beta. I really LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Satisfactory vanilla!!! You are doing a amazing work! But atm I am enjoying satisfactory plus way too much for now. Dont get me wrong, Satisfactory vanilla is awesome, but Satisfactory Plus is just on another level, no matter how flawless your content is. Your MOD/DLC policy is a huge part of why I love this game/you Coffeestain!

I love the vanilla as well, admittedly in the beginning I used some mods because well, Early Access game and all... But since about update 6 I stopped needing mods. I am definitely glad that you could mod the game it gives exciting possibilities for fan content but that in my opinion shows good game concept and design. When a mod compliments a game and does not finish it

Somehow I feel there are loopholes. You can't tell anyone you are in the closed beta and have to agree to an NDA. You can however tell your friends you are going to play closed beta and invite them. Your friends technically haven't signed the NDA because they never signed up. Or is there a system in place where invited friends still get an NDA they need to agree to before they can actually get in.
