Yet another great video Sandra, having used the imagpac process I wondered at your timings but now understand and yes, slower will definitely be better! I've now ordered my lamp and eagerly await its arrival. I've still got packs left, in their boxes, in another lightsafe box so fingers crossed they will still be ok, but once they run out I will buy gel as you do, far less restricted as to sizes that way. So sorry your work had been ripped off, there are some who have no morals. Don't let it stop you, great idea to name everything, your process is well thought out and I look forward to your next upload. X

For my latest video on this as of Nov 2017, please see ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zUBc9lYIbJ0.html for updated technique. If you can't get the NG7 150HV liquid , ask for the VX55 one. Timings will be different for different liquids.

Hi Sandra I have been watching your amazing stamp tutorials but tried amazon for the photopolymer gel which is unavailable so glad I watched your recent videos and found this one with a UK company ...so hope I can get some to try. Your video tutorials are so informative and you teach so well, thank you for all your time and effort. I do not have a scan and cut but I do have a Cricut on which I have made my own svg’s ....hoping I can get the gel ...thank you so much Sam

Loving the videos, you make them so clear to understand. Can't wait to try the system as I have everything except the uv polymer gel already & therein is my problem - struggling to source the uv polymer gel in the UK apart from in the super expensive sachets. I can, however, find uv cured resin, would that work or would the stamps be too hard to make a good impression?
@createinspain
@createinspain 6 лет назад
It does need to be the gel, from what I understand UV resin is stuff that sets hard and will not be good for stamps! Hubby orders mine here in Spain, if you don't find anywhere soon, let me know and I will see if they do international. It may be expensive to transport but 3 kg lasts me about a year...so it may well still be worth it.

Hello sandra, thank you for your response, I' m in the Netherlands and I cannot find on google a firm that sells the gel. I can only find some craftshops who sells the polymer gel refills that they use on with the machine, but perhaps I can try it and when it doesnot work my granddaughter will have a nice uv light for her nails. Thank you for all your usefull tutorials.

Ineke - I looked at the manufacturers site and they say that in the Netherlands to contact the Austrian business partners - details here. www.colop.com/en/services/distribution-partner.html?country=AT

Thanks for the info Sandra, you have certainly perfected the technique and make it look so easy although I know you have spent many hours to get to this point. I have tried using the link you provided but the dealer here only sells ready made stamps. Doesn't look like I can source this product in AU. Any suggestions?
@createinspain
@createinspain 7 лет назад
If you have not done so already, phone the company to enquire - when I was looking for it I found that not everything finds its way to the on line sites... Failing that you may find it easier to source it in India or even China. Just google search until you get there! Let me know how you get on.

Ineke - The companies that sell imagepac may well sell the liquid. I'v not tried the packs due to the cost, so I really can't say. What country are you in?

Hello Sandra, thanks so much for this video! May I ask what kind of machine or tool you use to cut the vinyl? Thanks in advance.
@createinspain
@createinspain 6 лет назад
Hi Tina. There is a newer video on this, using laser printed tracing paper ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6PhkNanbam0.html But if you want to cut vinyl, paper, card etc to your own design, you want an electronic cutter. I have a Silver Bullet, which is at the top end of the scale, but there are cheaper cutters like the Silhouette Cameo that will easily cut vinyl. Unlike metal die cuts, with these machines you design with software and send it to the cutter for cutting out.

I had a bunch of questions after watching the previous video, but you have answered most of them. I did notice that the plastic that you use as a base for the vinyl and to cover the gel is somewhat cloudy. If I were to use a plastic that is completely clear, do you think that would affect the timing? You mention that the stamps are somewhat sticky. How do you store them? This looks like something that would be fun to do if the gel isn't too expensive. I followed the link and their search function is somewhat limited. When I put in my town and state it decided I was in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Apparently there is no dealer within 25 miles and the program gets confused. When I increased the distance, the map worked fine.
@createinspain
@createinspain 7 лет назад
It may make a little difference, but there are so many variables from place to place, my timings may not be the same as yours. If your stamps are too sticky after finishing, you can always put them under the lamp again later on, with a little water as before. I store my stamps on the same sort of letter files, in an A4 binder. The stamp goes inside the two layers, while I have a printed sheet behind that. I have also used pieces of the plastic as a base and put them in plastic CD wallets - that is good for small sentiments. Thankfully, they do get slightly less sticky over time. If you choose, you don't have to take the stamp backing off, you can just cut it to shape and use a stamp cling to attach to your block.

Thank you so much. I have a stamp maker machine, and I never thought about using vinyl to make my designs. Also I have never used liquid polymer. Always used the sachets, but am anxious to give your technique a try. I love making stamps and make my own designs with my die cutting machine. Thanks you.
@createinspain
@createinspain 7 лет назад
You are welcome. There are other videos on my channel about it, a whole playlist! The liquid polymer is easy enough to use when you know how and is cheaper by far. If you have a printer that will print on tracing paper, you can use that for templates too....or if the design will cut well, even black craft paper!

in regards to the photopolymer, is it okay to use a 'hard' type resin?
@createinspain
@createinspain 6 лет назад
No, stamps are made from a softer one so that the ink is gripped by it. A hard one won't work.

@createinspain

The gel is not toxic but if you want to avoid contact, wear disposable gloves when washing out - all the detergent used for that can dry out your skin a bit. When using a UV lamp, do not look at the light directly, it is not good for the eyes. If really bothered, you can also cover it with a towel or use it under a box.

I'm sorry, I didn't catch what you said about cutting out the design. Do you use a special machine for that?
@createinspain
@createinspain 7 лет назад
Joanna, I take it you mean the negative? You need an electronic cutter (Silhouette Cameo, etc) OR you can print the negative - but if you do that you need to have a printer that can print a good black on tracing paper. I use a laser printer to do it that way.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I wonder if you can use acrylic instead of glass for clamping? Thank you!
@createinspain
@createinspain 6 лет назад
I have not tried it, most likely it would affect the curing times but since you have not sorted those yet, that in itself would not matter greatly. The problem may be that the UV does not penetrate well (no idea) or that the design gets warped - again no idea. It is very much a case of try it and see!

One more question, will LED light bulbs work as well? Thank you again! :)
@createinspain
@createinspain 6 лет назад
The answer to that is yes (and no!) I actually use LED bulbs in my lamp now - BUT they are not the ones you buy for decorative purposes - you have to buy LED UV bulbs. I use 4 of these but turn them to face the outside of the cavity. I tried with just two, with bulbs facing the 'right' way in various combos, but that is what works best. Developing time now is an average of 40 seconds a side, 45 for very fine lines and as low as 30 for more solid areas. The LED UV bulbs may be dearer but they are better. Last longer, more reliable and don't seem to decrease in power over time like the others do. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9W-UV-LED-LAMP-TUBE-NAIL-DRYER-LIGHT-BULB-365-405NM-CURING-MACHINE-LIGHT-MASTE/272832781451?hash=item3f8619dc8b:g:LScAAOSwrOtZrK4W

Can u explain about how it indents? Is it the polymer?
@createinspain
@createinspain 5 лет назад
It is a photopolymer that is UV cured. The negative covers the area that you don't want, the rest of the liquid sets solid under the lamp. You then wash out the uncured liquid. As I say above, this is an old video. Try watching a more recent one. They are numbered, the higher the number the most recent. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YrUDrKPgO_0.html

Hello! Do you use any washout liquid, or just water, or water and soap? I watched your videos, but I'll admit I was at work so I might have missed that part.
@createinspain
@createinspain 7 лет назад
I use washing up liquid (dish soap in USA). I've also got some dedicated washout liquid that I got with my very first (expensive) gel but it is no better and a lot dearer! I do tend to buy a good quality 'concentrated' one though, the few cents extra is probably worth it.
