Blues Rock Review goes one on one with Anthony Gomes to discuss everything and anything blues rock, plus why his next album might be his best. bluesrockreview.com / bluesrockreview / bluesrockreview
Anthony I've been around several styles of music. You are right in your version of how combining the past with the future has changed what the Blues is known for. There is a story in music and being able to deliver this is what the Blues is all about. Your style is becoming acceptable with many and I believe your on the right mind set to bring this forward. When I was playing music years ago everyone tried coping sounds of other bands, in the 70's we have stepped into the daylight of expressing a new version of the past without stepping on to many toes . Continue your Journey and I'm sure you'll be around for years to come....Craig Blake
He makes a lot of great point about blues and blues-rock music. The blues has to enter the 21st century louder and harder than the previous blues forms.
Thank you Anthony, couldn’t agree more with this. I love the early Chess / Checker / Excello blues but I cut my teeth on Led Zep, Cream and Purple and I can’t and won’t pretend to be otherwise, I’m English for a start! I’m currently working on a collection of Chess Records covers done in an unashamedly hard blues rock style 👍🤘
"There are the blues and there's ladidida" Townes Van ZAnt, however, blues is daddy and rock is the son (cut from the same clothe). I love Anthony and he is blues and rock right at the perfect blend.
