Im a Byzantine Catholic and my stepfather is a somewhat practicing evangelical Protestant. He still doesn't believe what I believe when I talk it through though, but I think I've managed to dull his hostility towards ancient practices by talking about things that the Orthodox SHARE with Byzantine Catholics, and how they're just as much anti-papal authority as he is, and why those practices don't inherently loop back to Catholicism itself, but a longer standing practice that dates back to before we ever schismed. I'm really sorry you had these experiences and I will pray for you as well with all Catholics who experience bigotry or discrimination of any kind. I urge you to report this stuff to your HR Manager and your local Labor Department. It is very illegal to be discriminated or harassed in the workplace because of your religion.

@petegalvez7955 The Church numbers the commandments differently than protestants did, where the part you pasted is considered the first commandment instead of the second. The Bible doesn't number them 1-10 clearly. Keep in mind that the Church has been slandered for centuries because, if any of these points of criticism were to be reconciled to the extent that they become less than schismatic in people's minds, well, a lot of people would have to accept the teaching authority of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church again. For 500 years, a lot of people have believed that the Church, which Christ built on Peter, is more than any group of people with Bible in hand following their darkened intellects. Funnily enough, a common attack against the Church is that she’s anti-science and “Galileo!” But, that ignores the history of doctors, scientists, mathematicians, physicists, etc who were supported by the Church and were even priests when they conducted their studies. Heck, the Scientific Method was jumpstarted by a Catholic monk and that’s the measuring stick for most scientific studies. If you want to learn about Catholic doctrine from actual Catholic sources I would highly recommend the Catechism of the Catholic Church. And more specifically, a podcast called Catechism in a Year with Father Mike Schmitz. It is a wonderful way to journey through Catholic teaching with commentary on each section. I have had anti Catholic slurs thrown at me in Glasgow. It was defo anti Catholic rather than Irish. I am not saying you are wrong because you are right because there was No Irish signs around. The Church of Scotland created the document The Irish Menace to Scottish Nation. one hundred years ago and I believe it has stuck in consciousness. I live in Ireland now and it seems that many people including Scots think that everyone in Ireland is Catholic. Thus Irish is defo Catholic. I am in my 60s so my experience goes way back. There were workplaces that didn't hire Catholics and when you went for a job interview you were asked what school you went to. Let the Holy Spirit be your indwelling guide and light on your path. Finally, we are told in the epistle to the Hebrews ( Heb.4v16) to come boldly unto the throne of grace. In the name of Christ, you and I can go directly into God's presence with our praise and worship and requests and intercessions. We do so in the name of the perfect Christ. No human 'priest' is perfect. Only the perfect, sinless Christ can gain our admittance into that radiantly pure throne room. His precious blood, shed at Calvary, can alone make us fit to enter therein. We do not need a human mediator between us and God. Do you think that the pope or a priest can take us into that place? Surely you don't. The one thing that Satan desires is to keep people away from enjoying fellowship with their heavenly Father. So he leads men and women to try to approach God through religious systems, through popes and priests and imams. These are all satanic barriers to fellowship with God. They are bogus 'mediators', replacing the only true Mediator, which is Christ. if you fall into sin, confess to your heavenly Father and He has promised to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteusness(1Jn. 1v9). Don't confess to some man in a box, confess to your Father and plead the blood of Christ because, if you put your faith in Christ, He paid the penalty for your sins on the cross. Please don't reject the true gospel, YOOTOO, and replace it with a man-made theological system that has led millions over the centuries to eternal misery and regret with enticing words and religious paraphenalia. Accept Christ, believe the gospel and know the joy of God's salvation.
