I’m absolutely terrified of fake anti piracy screens, but I literally will watch them for hours

The fact that some of these let you play the game for like 6 minutes and then it just takes a sharp turn into a horror game.

Not gonna lie. While watching this, I got a weird pop-up on my desktop. Then the laptop screen kept dimming and getting brighter. Then my laptop shut down. Scared the crap out of me. Turns out I forgot to plug the charger in.

Imagine being a kid and you just got Nintendogs and then it says “Zeus has died” randomly.

Imagine going to the store, and not seeing the Mario Kart game that you want to play on your Wii. So now, you have to order it online. You order it online for a surprisingly cheap price. Horray! Your kids can finally play the game that they wanted to play so badly. Christmas morning, your kids are playing their game. You lay down in your bed, finally relieved that you got the game. An hour later, your young kids run to you screaming and crying, and you walk out into your living room just to see an absolutely cursed and horrifying version of the beloved Princess Peach.

also, for people wondering why they don’t actually make anti-piracy screens scary or intimidating, it would actually encourage piracy as everyone would be pirating games in order to see the cool scary screens. i’ve seen so many people asking why no one actually uses these kind of scary screens so i figured i’d give an explanation from a functional standpoint

The Nintendogs one is really good. No jumpscares, creepy images or threats. Just something that you became attached to, ripped away from you, and you know it's all your fault.

Fun fact! Nearly the entire Bowser's Inside Story AP dialogue exists in the game (minus the AP portion) with the battle tutorial and Bowser waking up being true. However, instead of Bowser in Cavi Cape, he's in one of the areas Mario and Luigi are in. Mario, Luigi, and Starlow are supposedly up in the Peach's Castle final boss area.
