Another brilliant restoration, everything is always "just right" and nothing is overdone so the piece loses its character and history. Very well done indeed. You also live in an extraordinarily beautiful part of the world.
I certainly don't mind the attempt to re-use and preserve, but as a restorer myself, I don't believe pieces like this are meant to look good with old patina, I believe the men and women who designed these pieces back in the day, built them to be serviceable, and pieces of wood are consumables in my opinion.
LADB - The person who turns old agricultural machinery into functioning machinery once again. This really inspires me as it shows how much you love the old systems.
you guys may or may not realize it in your day to day lives but you all live in one of the most stunning places in the world just looking at my screen i can almost feel the wind blowing through my hair and the sun shining on my face warming up my whole body. it does put a smile on my face, thank you.
Comme d’habitude, une belle vidéo, de beaux paysages, de beaux objets, de l’habileté, du bon goût, et Avril! Du divertissement qui donne le mal du pays. Please never stop what you’re doing!
Cats are always such good helpers. My cat will help me brush my teeth every day by turning the water on for me. Then whenever I turn it off he turns it right back on...very helpful beings they just live to help!
A very nice sympathetic restoration, and I love the colour, all you need to do now is sit back and wait for the grapes to grow !One handy trick on getting out screws/nails from wood is to apply a hot soldering iron or copper rod to the head of the screw, then, when it cools down, it comes out easily, I have also found that the MIG will weld cast iron without problem, I often use it to repair cast objects using the normal MIG wire. @@horatiohornblower868 Because to braze it, (SIF bronze weld), you need a great deal of heat, and it is only when you can get the area around the fracture to red heat that the braze will run into the crack, there is also the problem of contamination from oil etc, any contaminate will give a very poor braze, it is practical if you have Oxy/Acetylene equipment, but not many people have now, so the MIG is an easy fix, it does not always work, depending on the type of cast iron, but with a broken component it is worth a try.
To all the young kids out there that might stumble across these videos and then quickly change to something different because it looks boring.... Well...I'm 46, and I wish, when my dad was alive and I was a kid, that I'd have listened to him and took him up on his multiple offers to watch and help him do stuff like this. I did not! and now I'm a dad, I can neither do any of this stuff, or show my kids because I never took up that offer. I regret that. So do yourself a favor, watch, learn and most importantly, if your dad or mum offers to teach you something like this, take them up on their offer. 40 years later you wont regret it!! :) Good job on the vids!
Great restoration, and a really clever idea to use valve springs as substitutes for the original ones. Thumbs up! 👍 - and I really like that blue colour! 😁
You live in one of the MOST AMAZING locations of all time. The view of the mountain, the wide open field, the animals! Probably got more hidden elsewhere. Got any waterfalls? Beautiful lakes? I'm not gonna lie when I say I'm jealous! Well done on acquiring such a priceless location!
Guys, we gotta donate to this guy's Patreon so he can get himself a sandblaster. It would kill me if I had to do half the restoration projects he does without a sandblasting cabinet.
Мастер показывает не только результат,но и саму работу по рестоврации,а также работу механизма после по прямому назначению.Спасибо за мастеркласс.!!!Удачи Вам!
How come youtube never recomended your channel to me before ? And boy I wrote "Restoration" into the YT searchbar a lotta times. This is so far the best restoration channel I can relate to with how to proceed when you want to restore something. Big respect to you sir :) Im subbed since yesterday :P
Great classic old farm equipment but upon closer viewer inspection through your fine recording lens we see more, we see happy farming being grapes, well eventually anyways as this machine will yield great grapes into tasty vine in time. Thank you for the share, Lance & Patrick.
Then you have never made wine.... you can't have whole untouched grapes 13:31 You want the pulp smashed, and the skins touched as little as possible. Does not take away for the excellent work, but functionally - miss
