Thank you for watching, I hope you will have a good time here :) PATREON / ladb FACEBOOK / ladbrestoration INSTAGRAM / ladb_restoration Email : hello@ladb.co Thanks :-)
mad respect for this dude. metal splinters from thode brush bheels are a different kind of pain and this dude just freaking tanks em like nothing. Absolute madlad.
I'm guessing the calluses on his hand make it tolerable. The calluses one develops as a serious bass/guitar player would have the same effect. You can't feel that layer of hardened skin.
it can be more powerfull with more pressure by pumping and more heat by letting it burn low for 2-3 min.. once u turn the valve up, it will blow really powerfull blue jet-like fire. i know cos my father used to have this 😁
Aside from some parts not working, I was surprised how good of a condition this was in! I always love to see how these things turn out and really enjoy your videos. I love the natural sounds in the background that you don't see in many other channels since they work in a closed space or warehouse. I love the nature in all your videos and look forward to plenty more! And of Avril of course :) I have four cats myself and absolutely adore Avril.
Kitty timestamps, as always: 7:01 Avril coming in, probably after using the head fluff for cleaning 8:18 Now the other side of the fluff? 8:40 Investigating the gravel 19:31 One final inspection for the restored pieces, from the fluffy assistant of the orange fur, Avril So, that's how the old blowtorches are. I guess they might also work well for roasting some treats, kitty treats maybe? Thanks for the video! Awesome work! God bless you!
Avril explains that, as Chief Quality Control Inspector, she often has to put her head in places that contain dirt... Instead of leaving a paper note that says "Inspected by Avril," she leaves some of her hair as the stamp of approval... 14:08
If you look at pictures of knitted shawls, there is often a cat sitting on the shawl. The term for that is 'giving the knitted item a buttstamp of approval' Our feline overlords takes their job as overlords serious, including quality control
I appreciate the timestamps. I was grading papers while this was playing and missed the first three appearances. I was about 15 minutes in and was upset by the distinct lack of Avril. I am not even a "cat person," it is just that it is not a real LADB video without Avril.
I’ve been following you for about a year now and I love the careful way you restore all these items...the more parts, the better. I’m also fond of curious white cats with grease on their faces!
à priori vous êtes Français et je vois aucun commentaire dans la langue de Molière, vous faites de l'excellent travail et qu'elle patience, c'est de l'art.
Beautiful restoration. Whoever invented this was a genius. I couldn't figure out how to operate it without a lesson. Very nice work. I appreciate your skills.
Very interesting design of the device. The device is similar to my blowtorch from the Soviet era. Only my burner is horizontal. Thanks for the interesting video! 🔥
Great attention to detail, filing down the brass casting marks and polishing up those Bakelite pieces. I thought for sure you were going to make a roux when you pulled out the flour!!! Awesome as always!!
There’s a certain beauty to this old equipment. No ultrasonically welded plastics and such that you can’t disassemble. Everything is a nut or bolt, and even if it’s a little rusty, a wrench and a torch can get it apart.
Beautiful restoration as usual.. This torch reminded me of a similar one my father had on the farm when I was young. It would be a neat ornament in the shop today, not to mention the keepsake..
Why do I really love the design of this ancient piece of machinery 🤣 I was so born in the wrong time-line. But this thing does actually have some charming characteristics and I could totally see this thing on some video game character
You have a very talented cat, restoring all this stuff. I mean clearly you’re just trying to take credit for the cats work(can’t say i blame you). How long did it take to train him to use tools
I like this channel, it would be great is there was a little more in the description. What year the torch is from, maybe where it came from. I really enjoy your videos.
👏🏽 It is very interesting to watch how such old things are brought back to life! ✌️ I am glad that there are people who are really interested in this and they are doing this, because this thing was created by people who are no longer alive. This blowtorch has seen many historical events and has already survived many generations, while now it is in its original form! 👍 This is very valuable! Thanks for this video!👏🏽
Whenever you sand a piece I'm immediately thinking how much better it looks, and then you sand it and I'm like, wow, how could I be so foolish, NOW it looks good, and then you sand it *again* and polish it and I'm like, no, NOW *that's* amazing.
Wow a lot of parts on this one. Who thinks this stuff up, back in the day. have to give these people back in the day a massive amount of credit for engineering this stuff!
The cost, variety and number of tools and gadgets available beats the imagination. Real engineering work shop with expert at work. Workshop Engineering at its best
Wonderful! I've never seen a blowtorch where the flame goes upward... I've seen dozens before, but they've all shot the flame out horizontally! Really cool!
This torch is for heating up the cilinderhead from hotbulb tractors. This is for the French Vierzon hotbulb tractor, in Germany there was the Lanz Bulldog hotbulb tractor. I have several of these lamps and tractors in my collection.
A good job that I was alone whilst watching this. When it was demonstrated, I said, out loud, "bloody hell!". I really had not expected that, actually I had no idea what to expect, but that wasn't it. Absolutely amazed, and enthralled. If someone had said in 2001 that in 20 years time I'd be watching a guy restore a blow torch, I'd have called them mad. Yet here I am, in 2021 barely able to tear my eyes away from the television in case I miss something interesting. A superb restoration.
Did you fill the main tank with alcohol? I thought that it was going to run on kerosene? And pre heat with alcohol/spirits! I have one similar and ive been using kerosene always. Hi from Cork in Ireland. Love your channel its the best
With a pressurized tank like that, you probably can use a lot of different types fuels. As long as the fuel atomizes, it burns... And the fact that you adjust the flow to air ratio, it works. JMHO
5:13 best thing about disassembling any old apparatus/machinery is to see how it was tinkered with. I bought a few used RC-cars and I love to take them apart and see what the previous owners did / tried to do. Awesome.
