Restauration pratiquement toute faite "à l'ancienne" comme j'aime! Bravo pour vos vidéos(que j'attends à chaque fois avec impatience) sous l'œil avisé de "Monsieur April" !
I love watching these at bedtime. They’re perfect and calming to settle my mind and prepare me for relaxing after an overstimulated day of screens and meetings.
I love how you used the previous restored 'wet stone' for sharpening your tools. It shows that these restorations are jot just show pieces, but fully function and are used. An Avril is just too cute, an such a wonderful helper.
@Vulpes I live an work on a farm in the U.S. We don't throw anything that can be useful away, we reuse everything we can. One of my sisters, who used to live on the farm, threw a lot of non-working equipment away. I've been going through the bone pile (stuff she threw away in a pit) an refurbishing quite a few things. Gives me something to do during the winter months when I can't get into the field. Working on a wheel barrow currently, bit rusty an wood needs replacing, an missing some parts but shouldn't be too hard to fix up once missing parts that I have on order come in.
You are making pure art!! Love the fact you know the balance in restoring things and not just replacing everything. Many RU-vid make videos about restoration projects and when you watch them they just replace many things and it looks like something that came out of a machine. Your projects has the soul of the object and the looks of how it looked when it got made! Craftsmanship beyond what most people in this world can do!
Watching you finish shaping the handles with a drawknife took me back to watching my grandfather use one. He was an old-time carpenter and woodworker and I still have some of his tools including a drawknife.
Honestly this is asmr for I have severe insomnia and since I’ve started watching the restoration videos it’s been so relaxing that it’s curing my insomnia
Some kitty timestamps: 6:48: Daring introduction of the orange fluff 16:32 Inspector Avril on duty I wonder what happened since one wheel looked like it was bit by something (or someone). Thanks for the video! God bless you!
The way you work with such patience and mastery is really inspiring. I admire the work you do and I really hope my skill level can match yours one day.
After a really long time im seeing the good old carpentry techniques. Takes me back to the days my grandpa and his carpenter used to work the wood. Truly amazing loved the truck and your work. Great job
That's now my favourite restoration of yours. As others have said, your channel is the best. No fancy gimmicks, just good old fashioned, time tested skills. Brilliant stuff!
Another one saved ! I have a similar sack barrow languishing in my barn waiting for the treatment, I never thought of using Plane ,(Platanus) wood, there is a lot of it growing here and it is very hard, just right for this purpose, the finished job looks really nice! Well done! This will outlast the chinese made things in Bricolage several times over! Chris B.
So, is there not a platform on the bottom? There were slotted ears at the bottom I thought were for accepting different platforms for different objects.
I really like the stuff you restore on your channel, and with how much care an precision you try to bring the tools back to life, preserving as much of the original as possible. Grew up on a small farm in Switzerland, and a lot of things you show on your channel were used back then and remind me of my childhood.
I have to say, I look forward to the point wherein our society comes to make more use of tools such as the ones you restore. Human labor and simple engineering will be our salvation.
An exceptional restoration. I wish I had your woodworking skills. One thing I like about your projects is that you will do all you can to save the original materials including wood. Obviously that wasn't possible in this case. The wood was so rotten it was spongy. Looked like it could barely hold together. You made the replacement work look easy. Great work on the metal, too. Thank you
I know you restore as many parts as you can, and the wood was so damaged I was surprised it didn't burst into termites; yet, it felt sacrilegious to see you ripping off the wooden parts. Great job!
Incredible work!!!! You are awesome at wood working and metal work as well! I loved the way you sanded, chiseled, and milled all of your new boards! Another great video!!!!!!!!
There better be no one judging you for not being able to use that mulch for wood. That's just how it is with biodegradable things. You did a magnificent job as always!
I think even mulch is being too generous. At this point it’s more like compost. The surprising thing is that it stayed intact for so long to begin with.
The start of this, where basically everything salvageable was ripped from the wood it meant to hold, was amazing in ways I struggle to define. Thank you
I absolutely loved how you rebuilt this hand truck. The wood effort was perfect and only thing I would have done differently would have been paint the metal. But amazing project either way. Thumbs Up!
I never understand why people give the thumbs down to videos like this. If you don’t like then bugger off and let those of us who enjoy it watch in peace.
Imagine the fella that built that originally watching that video. He'd be blown away and do proud that you did that to his creation. Awesome restoration yet again.
Beautiful ''again.'' Now that was another enjoyable exhibit of restoring something that was a fixture in our barn when I was really young, and that was many moons ago. It's a true joy watching a person with the time, tools, and knowledge to use them. To revive those item that have been placed on the wayside and have fallen into serious state of repair, to be spared and given an even longer life now that it's recognized there value. Your museum of collectables must be awesome and packed. I tip my hat to you Sir.
Toujours aussi bien de regarder tes restaurations ! J'espère pouvoir faire aussi bien chez moi pour utiliser à nouveau les vieux outils et machines de l'exploitation agricole !
Shocked you was able to get any kind of pattern off of those rotten boards! A great job restoring it it looks great Enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
What a fabulous transformation of this antique hand truck you have done a brilliant job well done I like how use alot of the old tools for your restorations and I like how April checks things
@@somethingit8107 I speak German :) and I had English at school many years ago and unfortunately didn't work on it after that, so I can't do it anymore :(
One channel I can trust with genuine restorations. Too many clearly damage and rust the things they find to make the restoration more dramatic, but clearly you’re honest and it shows. So much more fun to watch.
I have just discovered your channel and I am already a big fan of it. Not just do I like the way you do the restorations but I am a huge fan of old/antique tools and you have some pretty old and definitely well-looked after tools. I pick up from your handymanship that you are well "oiled" in your trade. You remind me of my late uncle who passed in July 2021 from who I have learned so much over the years. Looking forward to more videos from you
6:50 LOL! If a cat can be anywhere, they will be somewhere near to the action every time! They love to be involved closely when you are the centre of their lives! La Belle Avril!
This man is a very skilled craftsman actually one I look up to and aspire to be! He is very knowledgeable and it would be an honor to work with him and learn from him!!
