ANYONE Can Buy a Car From Copart WITHOUT A Special License! Here's how... 

Issue I run into is some in my area say "dealer only" when you go to buy, the second issue is on a lower dollar deal say $1000 the copart fees add over $300 then a broker will add another $200+ so you add 50%+ to the cost

In the uk we pay a yearly membership fee and can bid on any vehicle the only time a licence is needed is for buying category b ( break only or parts cars) these could only be purchased by companies with breakers licence and yards for dismantling and resale of parts, although recently anyone can bid on these now, but if you win a cat b car you need to pay £100 to book the use of a bay and strip the car in the copart yard and they remove the engine for you , but you have to leave the body with them for disposal

When buying a car, is the rule of having a broker license determined by the state you live in or by the state you're buying the car from? For instance, if I live in Pennsylvania and want to buy a car located in Georgia, do I go by the rules of Pennsylvania or Georgia?

Would fixing up a sports car be a good option for a begginer ? Say one that needs a front end replaced but no damage to engine or power steering whatsoever

I have a question I found a hail damaged vehicle at copart it says texas title without salvage indicator, and shows a clean autocheck. However should I be surprised after I buy it to get a salvage title?

No license required but they are in other states like the opposite side of the country. Gona have to pay 2-3 thousand to export to where ur at on top of cost of car never seen one sold for less then 1,000. The broker charges deposit dat u dont get back 400 and 200 a year to join.. then fees on top of that.. like wtf?

Is there a way to have the car I'm interested in looked at and see if it runs and shifts right ? Once I do buy the car how long do they give you to pick it up before they charge storage fee's? Sam I live in the SF Bay Area I used to buy and sell at Copart about 15 years ago when they did it out of a pick up truck in Vallejo I think that was his first yard I called the other day and they said that to sign up I think she said it was 200 is this true do I need a membership?

May want to explain a salvage title is going to require someone with a re-builders license to repair and clear title in most states. Clean titles allow unlicensed people to do the repair and sell and transfer reg.

So I’m confused, and I looked at all of the comments before I typed this. If there is no required license but in your state you are required to get a broker, that defeats the purpose of you looking in the column where you do not have to get a license to bid on a car. That’s what I don’t get, and I’m from Florida too.

Keep in mind Copart charges a lot of fees above and beyond the high bid winning bid price. A broker will then also charge fees. I heard Copart fees are usually $500 and up. Brokers...I heard approximately 400 fee

the Broker fees are not cheap...and some even require deposits as well. So, by the time you pay Copart fees and Broker Fees....not easy to make any sense in buying...

I have an old car a 2005 Nissan Altima and I notice here in Houston most car on sale have salvage titles so I know they may come from auctions .. I downloaded Copart and came across a hail damage car I would like to bid on so I can upgrade and have a newer car .. General question re Sales Tax on a Copart Salvage Car... I know from previous experience buying from other local dealers (who also buy from Coparts) the local place does NOT charge me a State Sales Tax... I just incur that when I go convert that Salvage Title in A Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title... So bottom line, if I were to buy a salvage car through Copart either on mu own (if poss) or if by going through a broker, I will also incur the Sales Tax on Copart Salvage Car??? And then another Local State Sales Tax at the end upon trying to get the Rebuilt Title (i.e. Double Dip on Taxes???)

I bought one from Copart, but it is almost impossible to get a good deal from them. They charge a huge amount in fees. Most part of their cars have conditional sale and if you get a car for cheap they cancel your bid and relist the car next week. I got one, waited 2 business days and didn't even receive an email saying my bid was rejected.
