Team horizontal, and personally I would hang a curtain in front of the clothes wardrobe to separate and look less clustered when you sleep (maybe just one panel) it could look great as a kind of headboard aswell even tho it's fabric.

Try the horizontal position for a while and see what you can do with the extra floor space. I'm thinking a cute rug and round white table to do your crafting and sewing. For me, the extra floor space literally opens up a new living area. But whatever layout you choose, I'm sure you are going to make it functional and cute

I love love love your usage of colour whether it's in your wardrobe or decor, you really have an eye for using colour without it looking overwhelming. I feel like it would be hard for anyone to get depressed in your apartment.

Turn the shelf so the short side is against the wall and the long side along the bed (keep the bed the regular way) that way it separates spaces better and you are not that crowded on the desk area! Great video!

I’ve had my bathroom shelf rack thingy, through 3 apartments (long story) and my current apt is the only one where I could actually get it in my bathroom. It does not, however, fit over my toilet. The struggle is real, my dude! 😂

I can relate to this so much 😂 I love alexandra gater. I've done many DIY projects since the pandemic started. If you have a wobbly shelf, you can get some small wood planks and use wood glue to make it sturdier. I have learned the hard way too many times especially with Ikea furniture. I know korean apartments like yours have storage already which is great, but I'm always team storage bed. I wish I had gone with that before buying a platform bed that's all wood. I'd rather have the storage at this point but lesson learned for the future if I decide to replace it. I've wallpapered a few things before but never painted my apartment so I'm excited to see how it turns out for you!!

Ooo I will try out the small wood planks!!! Thank you for the tip!!! And yeah I desperately need some storage, so I think either a storage bed or bed that has space underneath would do well. I am so excited to paint my wall paper but also I am most nervous for it too hahaha. Im trying to see if I can find any paint tins and brushes on the Karrot app but nothing thus far!!!

That office chair looks so good! Glad it was only $20. If only we had an app like carrot here in the states. I’m too scared to shop or sell on Facebook marketplace. Just doesn’t feel safe… But once the entire place is finished, I would love to see it! ❤

Oh really? Ive only really seen people just love fb marketplace, but yeah if that's how it makes you feel then dont go thru with it. I would suggest if you are selling /buying something, then to exchange it in an area with alot of foot traffic so ur not alone 💕

I have been living minimalist, I know you are a maximalist and love it as well. But I love that you are creating a home with more space, it gonna be amazing. I live in NYC and although my space isn’t that small. I teach online yoga from my living room, so I know letting go of furniture I did have space to do what I need to do. As well my apartment is so dark so I painted all my walls white to be brighter and love the small changes I have done. As I did a mural in one of my wall so it have some color and not just plain. Excited to see how your creating your new spaces

If you leave the bed long against the wall...You could either mount a shelf(with a U cutout above the outlets...or do a fold up shelf. A kinda night table/ charging platform. Is there another outlet by yer desk? Or,do you share the loft electric with those two plugs by yer bed? I look forward to seeing more of your re-do☺️

I can't drill any holes into the walls- they're concrete. I drilled on the side columns cause it was drywall and it's up and away from view so hopefully when I patch up the holes when I leave- it wont look noticeable! :) what I'm doin these days is actually leaving my phone downstairs when i go to sleep so I dont get sucked into endless hours of scrolling before bed! I think i might use the modular shelf that I got as a lil side table if anything! 😀

If you want to create the illusion of a separate space, turn the glass shelf vertically. That might be it. I have a small space so I've researched a bunch on maximizing space and creating the illusion of different areas. Can't wait to see how it turns out! Im still revamping my room a bit. I'll be moving soon, so I've been taking notes lol. Not sure how your coffee table looks, but I think having alblie's bed under the coffee table, could save space as well. I'm definitely team bed horizontal! Only because I love having space that's free for anything you could do. I'm assuming you won't spend much time on your bed, as you'll either be working at your desk, downstairs, or out.

I WIIIISSH i could put albies bed underneath the table but it's much too low and I dont know if its possible to change out the legs??? It's quite heavy so I guess I'd have to get super tall ones. Then comes the other challenge of-me constantly moving that table, when im watching something on my laptop, or eating on the couch, filming etc. So imma try to just do the wood panel on the closet, hopefully that works well enough!!!

Maybe for the glass shelves you could buy some glass foil? they sell them in so many colours and you could like cut out different shapes and patterns. This is assuming it’s not easy to find actual coloured glass 😅

So much fun! You should use your clothing as wall decorations on hangers, they r so cute and you can change them out to change the mood. Make sure any furniture you bring in can at least do double or triple duty (coffee table plus hidden storage), use more vertical shelving, no need to buy already made stuff, just the extra wood pieces at ikea and brackets, you can paint them any colour you want ❤

Yaay glad you liked it!!!! Yeah all of my things in my place are multi use cause it's small space and we need to maximize it!!! I'd love to add in shelves but in Korea you actually dont ever drill into your walls- also everything has wallpaper too 😣😣 for my place my walls are concrete so I could even drill if I wanted to, the columns that I drill my shelves into I just did bc it's up high and out of reg eye level and that is also dry wall so I'll be able to put some spackle on it later! :)

I have an ikea bed with storage under it and i love it but I don't live in korea or a loft area. I recommend getting measurements to make sure a bed frame fits and find one with the best storage and one you can get up those stairs

Love the couch! I like the bed long ways against the wall, if you add some cute throw pillows then it’s another sitting area when you’re not sleeping. Finally, I love your tenacity! As some one who has lived both in the U.S. and in South Korea without a car, I really appreciated the clips of your furniture shopping hacks ❤😂🎉.

I do like the horizontal position for ur bed. I meant, it seems less aesthetic, but definitely maximize space in urr bedroom. I wouldn´t mind saying bye to the aesthetic situation for more space bc u can do other stuff when u have mor space. Creativity comes in spacefull and open minds, think about it. Love what ur doing. Love video! I'm also doing a room change, and I love watching the hunt for the second hand finds. I have a small room, and actually I found that putting my bed horizontal has saved me a lot of space. I do sacrifice the want of a cute headboard, but I actually use big and small pillows/decor pillows/cute large stuff animals to make it look like a day bed of sorts. Def team horizontal! You can make it work and still cute :)

Why don’t you just invest in a soft box light so you don’t have to worry about trying to catch the sun. If you’re worried about space most of them breakdown like a tripod and you can just store it with yr tripod

I love this! I have been on the same journey redoing my space. For the shelf with colored glass you can just get cling film and apply it to the underside instead of getting new glass, it's really easy to put on!

We stayed in a studio apartment for 3 years, 2 people and 2 cats, until a house with a yard came up for rent in our area for super cheap. That penthouse will happen!! Now we're saving for our own house.

What if you have the bed moved side ways and then you move the dresser flat against the other wall and then you could moves the clothes over to the side a bi and then could do a headboard if you wanted still

Seeing Albie energetically digging and playing with his bed has me worried about your clothing rack. Won't he scoot the rack all around the room and maybe knock it over (if his bed is attached to the rack)?

I thought about that too- but I can tell when he's going to get like that: after a bath, when we're playing, when ppl come over etc so I'll just take his bed out of there! The wood panel will be attached to the rack, not his bed! 🙂 the clothing rack also has locks on the wheels so hopefully that'll help too!

you shouldn't drill into walls or paint it- but for the drilling I asked my real estate agent and he was like yeah you're gonna live there, so obviously there's gonna be some holes lol. About the wallpaper- I just figured that I'm not leaving here until I am making BANK, and when that times comes... it's not gonna matter how much I gotta pay bc i will be making BANK ahahaha
