I love you chatting out your process then showing footage - it gives the feeling of hanging out with you. When you were putting your bed together I could see, in my minds eye, a ceiling curtain track (I think you can get at ikea) and curtains the same color as your walls placed in front of your clothing so it hides the closet and gives the illusion of a larger space. Also a diy padded squiggle style headboard in a velvet (or it could even be painted) that fits in the little alcove your bed slots in would look cute.

I love that you're so transparent about your budget. I think it's kind of unrealistic to do a giant house/apartment makeover all in one go because most of us don't have that kind of money either :P plus that just means we get more content!

Don’t worry about the amount of time needed to complete your apartment. Take your time- Rome wasn’t built in a day. Lol If you take your time you are less likely to experience buyers remorse. Also, you updating your current apartment reminds me of my old apartment that wasn’t great, but the rent was cheap. So I just stayed there, upgraded what I could while I saved money for my house. Now I have endless projects available to me in my house that I’ll probably be at until I die. Ha

as a fellow woman living on her own in seoul, i literally cheer every time you do any furniture pick-ups or furniture building by yourself. it's hard out here to be solo but we gettin it done!! i'm so happy for you and your apartment transformation. it's looking so good already, and you gotta take your time so it'll look just the way you want without breaking the bank so good call!! can't wait to watch more

Great video, your place is looking great 😊 As far as Mr Albi goes…I had a Staffy dog, with the same temperament and behaviours as him. Some dogs, just like humans, have ADHD…and their behaviour is pretty challenging. My girl lived to 15, and she was loving and loyal, but naughty and hyper right up to her death. I also put things in place, to stop her from accessing certain areas (because of her behaviours), they all worked for a period of time, but because they are very smart, she would always find a way to break in eventually, and then continue to do so. The baby gates you were looking at, you can get ones that don’t require screwing into the walls…they have screws in them, but they screw into a little round pad, that sticks to the walls and stair rail. I would recommend you getting one of these, they are actually very strong, and the dog can’t move them. As far as hight goes…I reckon you could get a second one, and place it on top of the other one, so it makes one tall gate. If this isn’t an option, possibly crating him while you are out, might be the way to go, he will feel safe in his own crate bed, and less anxious . Hope this helps 😘💗

I love the way this video was shot with both the sit down and then the bits of the vlogs . I’m also excited that you put the bed back to the original position. I didn’t like it when it was up to the wall and then also right up in your closet. This makes me motivated to organize some of my shit that’s just been sitting around on my to do list.

For the dog gate, those aren’t actually screws you drill in. The round white things that you see against the wall create tension by rotating the round thing closest to the gate.

Yes I got that! But Albie can plow through anything, so that tension rod is gonna be nothing for him to push down. I have a heavy 30lbs~ ottoman that I had in fromt of my the gate, plus a wire gate in front and he's managed to push through 😭

@@YOHOMEGIRL it helps, my dog is 60lbs and can’t knock it over. I put it on the 3rd step at the base of the stairs, so it’s taller than her and she can’t get a running start 😂 if you can find someway to block him halfway up the stairs he might not be able to push it or jump over.

If your worried about him peeing. I have a senior 18 year old dog and got reusable male diapers. Just throw them in the wash and have been life savers!

This cabinet story reminds me of "you get what you pay for." Yes, I also try to save money whenever I can, but you were able and willing to get the brand new one, it was there, at your door! Maybe it's better to buy it new than to worry about sellers you don't know, worry about how to transport it to your place, etc. I didn't realize you wanted to paint EVERY wall. I thought you were just painting a focal wall. You're going to need a ladder, or at least a step stool, brushes or rollers, a drop cloth, etc. You'll need a good quality brush for "cutting in." Be careful, esp w Albie running around underfoot.

re the dog gate: you might be able to zip tie a tall piece of wood to a part of your railing, to have something to mount your dog gate onto, at least thats what i would try

I think for the Albie situation, you can put near the entrance to your room something strong scented that would keep him away...like there are certain smells that dogs don't like. Maybe try that see if it keeps him away 🤔

Okay, with Albie, this idea is so OUT THERE, but instead of blocking the entrance at the top of the steps, what if you blocked the stairs themselves? What if you could lay something on the steps to make it basically like a slide, so that he could not climb up? You don't want him hurting himself, but if you put it on the bottom steps, he wouldn't get hurt. Like even a long piece of cardboard that you fasten on the side somehow, it'd be too slippery to him to come up.

Maybe try a net. The ones in a soccer goal or (cheaper) netting over vegetables that you can buy at the garden center. Attach it ti the walls, ceiling etc with command hooks.

Oooh this is so exciting! Getting a new bed frame is a big deal!!! You go girl! I can’t wait to update my place, just have to wait for some coin 😅Also, I really like this video style with chats and footage. Re: dog gate - I saw one on Amazon called the Magic Gate lol, and it’s basically a big piece of mesh that you can attach to your walls/railings with what looks like command hooks. Not sure how well that would last/if it would stump Albie.

When I was trying to figure out how to keep my dogs from getting into certain places, the only solution that stuck was crate training, which Im assuming you've already tried with Albie? Also, when you had the barricade, did it completely conceal the upstairs? Albie may be too inquisitive for this but you can try at least short term to hang a curtain/something similar that hits the floor and each side of the wall/railing and completely conceals your room - I hung a wall-colored curtain in an entry w/o anything peaking and my dog just assumed there was nothing behind (but unsure if this is possible with how your apartment is set up). It may also help to set stricter boundaries when you are home so he gets used to keeping out unless you say he's allowed in (but youre prolly already doing this). Good luck!!!

For the dog gate is it something you could maybe use industrial strength zip ties to attach to the railing? I’ve done that with some similar stuff before (though I’m not sure how you’d deal with the other side)

I think you might have to make a gate from wood. And then use adhesive to mount it to the wall. Maybe you can 3D print clips to clip the gate to the rail post? I would help you if I lived in Korea.

Are there any like regular sliding vynil doors that can be attached without drilling? Or also like a beaded courtain and then the doogie door? Also why not leave him in his crate? You mentioned he really likes his crate no?

He does love his crate however, he does not like his crate when left alone 🙃🙃🙃 the problem is that the railing, it's thin so there isnt anything that side can hold onto 😭😭
