This guy has a very good understanding of what makes clever & compelling rhymes. Flow, Delivery, concepts, emotions, shock value, personal insight, Apathy does it all. He’s got to be one of the most consistent ever, with dope beats & rhymes.
That's only because of how big he is in the industry... If Eminem stayed underground theres no way in hell he would have been able to effect Ja Rule or Benzinos careers the way he did.
Teja Bo Eminem is a “top 3” emcee of all time? By who’s standards? Pop fans and radio listeners who turn back at the door to the underground. Ap is dope as fuck. Lyrical content is real, beats fucking rip eardrums
Esoteric. Apathy. Ra the rugged man. To name a few more good white rappers. Although there shouldn't even be separation of color. It's hip hop culture and it's coming back. This is the real shit . revolution is now.
Best song ever ! At first i was going to punch my screen since i was listening to a Ap playlist and i started hearing the autotune... Then i listened to what was being said and i was happy ;)
I'm proud to be a fan of Apathy, because he's calling bullshit on ALL fake ass pop acts not just ones that use auto-tune, just listen to "We Gone Kill You"
I first heard this song around 2010, and suddenly remembered it a few days ago. So glad I found it again and I still remember most of the words. Never knew Apathy got so big, gonna go listen to his other tracks now.
some people just dont get how sick apathy is... the people i do convert to apathy and the underground i always play Personal Jesus for them that song is fucking dope
good rapper. glad theres someone like this out there. hope he doesnt sell himself like all these others fucks, n stays true to hiphop check out lowkey as well ... fire straight out of england
Heard this track on a homemade burned cd mad long time ago. Wanna say 05'-06' maybe 🤔 idk but shit was fire back then, and still is today 2024. So glad I found again.
nicely said, I agree. White black yellow purple, if you can spit you can spit, colour shouldn't even be brought up. Makes it sound kinda stupid, like you don't say "yo, Tupac was good black rapper" haha.
beeing underrated is the best way for keeping up high quality! :) the kiddies should here their justin bieber - lil wayne pop/rnb-shit. this is real music. this is fuckin REAL HIP-HOP!
he died in the hip hop game back in 99 but now he's livin in the hip POP world watered down n' shit like lil wayne & all these other wack wannabe lyricists. but i understand yo, he can say anything on a mic to these young cats who are deprived of REAL hip hop & they'll eat it up... he can do a whole verse in a fake ass jamacian acient rappin about nothin' & go platnum! he's got the game locked down in the hip POP world!!!
@DEATHBYSOCIALIST That's true there are generic artists everywhere, but the ones you mentioned for the most part aren't. Each deliver their music in a unique way and the reason I like them (and consider them way above most mainstream artists) is because they are wittier with their lyrics, have more developed rhyme schemes, and are basically more hip hop. And yes their content is better too. I'd much rather hear reality and politics than the corny punchline and love songs that dumb down people
you said it.... his music nowadays isn't half bad! he use to be dope as fuck! i guess i was just spoiled with his original material in the golden age of hip hop (1990's).
it's funny how people listen to artists who only make money instead of REAL shit! don't let the radio & mtv choose your music selection... get ya own shit!!!
Be real Kanye's fckn dope good producer n' his flows are pretty deep, but Apathy is a beast I love all elements of hip-hop and Apathy did tear shit up on this beat.
I agree 100% about the "white men can't rap" thing needs to die down. My personal favorite rappers right now include Apathy, Paradime, Diabolic, Slaine, Ill Bill, Copywrite, Mr. Chief, Knonam, Axis...All are white. Actually there are very few "new" black artists who I listen to (New meaning they came out in the last 5 years or so). It's in no way a race issue, it's just a matter of who I can relate to and who is fabricating their lives for fans, like Rick Ross for example.
Sure, I'll give you that. Some of the newer songs are good. Plus that new song (I looked it up; It's called 'We Made You') proves that he's turned into more of a hip-popper now, even if he some good ones here and there.
cant everyone just understand and accept all music is good. just enjoy everything. it all dirives from the same thing. people who only like one genre or one tyoe of genre. are so abscent minded and simple. thank you. good track. but at the same time lil wayne, kanye and t pain all have good tunes
Eminem was originally a battle rapper though. I do prefer his prior albums, I feel that the SSLP through the Eminem Show are his best albums. People say Infinite is his best, but that's more like a demo tape. With his recent leaked tracks, I don't see how he's over with now because it seems that he still has it. There are people don't prefer his new shit, but others think the writing is brilliant.
@RMacTFF - Ya celph is sick with it !! sick, funny ass punchlines that make you rewind the track like ohhh shit haha.. Only shit I know Celph has was the Gatalog ? He drop a new LP ?
@QN5isincredible You make a good point, no doubt. (that same thing irks me as well. Just because it was spit kinda fast doesn't mean it was spit well). However, in rebuttal, even Ap's "just decent" flows are light years past 99% of the rappers that we would compare to a Kanye West. Apathy is certainly helping keep battle Hip Hop alive, that's for sure. And you forgot the capital H's in Hip Hop.
@GODOFDISSING actually, he once was signed to interscope records i think, but they kept trying to control him and the direction of the album he was making.....so he left.
@ArmyOfThePharaohz - Word !! The underground MCs are more down to earth and real.. They don't have the star struck status and you could walk up to em after a show and chat with em because they're real.. Not saying all pop rappers wouldn't but the underground is in the music for the love of the music more so than rappers.
@Chinasoversizedclit K, honestly I agree with 90% of what you just said there but, My beautiful dark twisted fantasy was actually one of the best albums I have ever heard. These guys are famous for a reason even if a lot of their shit is pure crap.
i like ap and ive been saying the same thing when it comes to this voice shit. i love kanye and ive lost some respect for him cuz hes fallen into a fad. i wouldnt have dissed ye over it but ive give ap props for sayin how he feels about it
the thing about kanye is that he still raps when he is featured in songs with keri hilson, 88 keys, kid cudi, and some other shit like that, but weezy on the other hand is a different story, he uses auto tune on everysong and he sounds dumb as hell, he never gonna be the same old wayne we all used to know & love to listen to
@prettytony1994 "What's funny is if you ask ANY of those dudes I'd bet the house they'd say themselves that they haven't put out an album yet that comes anywhere close to touching Eminem's first three albums." you have never listend to a single apathy cd. the only cd that even comes CLOSE is slim shady lp... marshal mathers he wined about his mom and gf the half the time. the eminem show was straight trash. he was quoted as saying he didnt come at wayne cause he thought wayne would win...
this was kinda hot. made me laugh. "you aint no compueter, you aint from the future, and you aint got a tumor, so why do to your voice shit to make it sound stupider". ill!
dude apathy is incredible and so was eminem but the eminem show and marshal mathers LP were incredible, the eminem show in paticular, check out slug from the group atmosphere they're are absolutely amazing
Slug from Atmosphere is dope as well as Brother Ali I like when they both collaborate together also we can't forget Mr Slow Flow Evidence and you Can't mention Apathy without Celph Titled also Ra The Rugged Man is dope as well so many artists in the underground/independent scene to count there's dope music out there you just got to know where to look..!!
@Chinasoversizedclit actually, kanye's one of the most creative artists in the game. listen to his first album, listen to can't tell me nothing, diamonds from sierra leone, touch the sky, jesus walks, i can go on forever. apathy didn't kill nobody on this track
I personally am not a big fan of 'radio friendly' music. Or rather, music made with the sole purpose of promoting something. But it's a personal preference, really. 'Without Me' and 'The Real Slim Shady' are good though :p
look, there's people who love all mainstream pop hits. and then there's the people here who hate all of those hits. you both annoy me. mainstream doesn't have to be bad. autotune doesn't have to be bad. many artists just misuse it or abuse it (like t-pain or black eyed peas). in my opinion, kanye used autotune very well on this track. he intended to make a pop record, so treat it as one. pop and hip hop both have potential to be great, so don't hate on one or the other
@Dramacydal18 it's not the people that people are talking about, it's the genre. it's changed so much, i wouldn't even call most 'rap/hip hop' today rap or hip hop.
LOL i bet kanye woulda heard this and been like "WTF IM NOT A GAY FISH! im gna do somthing about this!" then checked apathys other vids and be like.."fuck that..."
@lavabone Couldn't have said it better myself. A lot of these dudes think veteran status in the game = superiority. Just cause you rapped in the 90s makes you better, not so. It's about talent, earning your respect and keeping it. The eras come and go, but the real MCs stay forever.
I used to like Lil Wayne's older shit same with Kanye now they've both sold out to the mainstream media. Apathy is doing them a favor by reminding them what Hip-hop really is. Although I do love the underground shit I think it should stay underground. I don't want to have to hear bout anyone from AOTP or Demigodz selling out. But seriously anyone who doubts that hip-hop is alive needs to look underground cuz that's where it's at!
Apathy got a lot better in the 2000's actually. It has nothing to do with the 90's, 80's or any other decade. Good rappers are good because of the talent they have. Not how long they've been rapping or at what time.
