it has been theorized that marth is the counter to 20XX. 20XX foxes can SDI out of falco's combos, and a good marth can combo fox the best out of any character. The counterpick does make sense.

Top marth players (Ken and Mew2king) have been known to slay spacies. Plus, PPMD originally picked up marth to counter Armada's Peach. Peach also has harder matchups against the top tiers (especially vs fox and puff) than marth does. It's not really fair to compare Armada and PPMD that way.

Wodto If someone wins losers finals, and then wins grand finals, it makes it so you have to play the match over again. Basically a way to show you are the best even if you lost a game and got put into losers. If PPMD won that first set there would not have been a reset and would have won the tournament right there.

PPMD's Falco loses vs Armada's Peach and Fox and Falco are even. Armada has a winning record over PPMD's Marth but I guess its not arguably different now. PPMD's Marth destroys Armada's Fox though.

***** From my experience, Sheik isn't the best in the finishing off opponent's department, but is good for racking up damage and having another character polish them off. Also, in team battles, the general mayhem allows Sheik's approaches to be muffled by the onscreen chaos.

Liam Bird Sheik is the gimp master lol all sheik does is finish stocks. M2k was the most high level sheik at this time but he also plays marth so you'd probably see more of that. Today (6 months later?) there's so many sheiks who play at a high level.

Nope, double elimination. Every player that gets seeded into winners side has '2 lives'. PPMD came from winners side into grand finals so he has to lose 2 sets of 5. Armada is coming from losers side so he only has ''1 life' left and therefore PPMD only has to win 1 set of 5.

You could try looking at Smash Boards, but you might have trouble navigating, otherwise Smash wiki i guess.

Tournaments are double elimination. What this means is, you have to lose twice to be out of the tournament. So everybody starts in "Winner's Bracket". After they lose, they go to the "Loser's Bracket". If they lose in Loser's Bracket, they're out. The person who got all the way through Winner's Bracket and the person who got all the way through Loser's Bracket fight in Grand Finals. However, because the person from Winner's Bracket hasn't lost (and it takes 2 losses to get eliminated), the person from Loser's Bracket needs to beat them twice. The person from Winner's Bracket, however, only needs to win once to win the set.

SSS7527 basically if you are in winners bracket the whole time (you never lose one set) you only have to beat the opponent once in grand finals, if you are in losers bracket (you lost and then played and won till grand finals) you have to beat the winner's final opponent twice to make it fair.
