One of the most anticipated reunions is here!! In their first interview together since the #PurpleRain #Era, the #SexShooters are back together! #Apollonia6 (#apollonia , #susan , & #brenda ) reunite for an #exclusive 3 part #interview that spans the #Prince #girlgroup , from the #Hookers , #Vanity 6 and #Apollonia6 in the most in-depth conversation in the groups history. From their beginnings, to the untimely death of #Prince . This is a #MustSee #season2 #premiere !
The Queen of the iconic movie "Purple Rain," starring Prince and leader of the girl group Apollonia 6, Apollonia Kotero, is hosting her premiere Podcast, "Apollonia Studio 6", exclusively to the "Apollonia Studio 6" channel on RU-vid. Apollonia, along with her co-host, Mr. Seth, has a kaleidoscope of guests from Music, Film, TV, Fashion, Photography, and of course, the Royal Purple Family just waiting to pull up a chair at the purple round table in Studio 6 to talk story, share insights, some laughs and maybe even a tear. This time, Apollonia is going to "Take U with Her!" Welcome to "Apollonia Studio 6."

I've always felt because of her extreme beauty, she was used a lot throughout her life. It was like a curse for her is what I believe. Prince used her, Hollywood used her and the church she belonged to used her as well. They all had ulterior motives. I am positive she lived the life of heartaches. And yes, I feel the church that she belonged to used her to try to bring in members. They would make sure wherever church she was scheduled to sermon at, they made sure she would be headlined on the lines of "Prince's ex-girlfriend, Vanity". Due to her constant visits to the hospital, racking up a major debt, the church never help pay off the debt. She died owing a lot of money. I believe deep down inside her, her heart trusted too much.
@chrissimpson6701
@chrissimpson6701 Год назад
@@kaleoy7584 I agree with you, she sat all 3 of these ladies down. She was a natural beauty. She may have died in debt, but Jesus took her soul with him, she made it, and she became a honorable woman. Prince never got over her death. I wonder did he say sorry to her? I heard he did her bad.

How did she handle all of that? How did her and Prince part? Did she write Make Up? What songs does she know of that were inspired by her?

I noticed this - I took that avoiding the deep dive was intentional since she was so young. If they dated off and on beginning in 1980 - that puts her . . . young and not going there saves a lot of more unanswered questions. Given that, I think Susann is a little shy. The wide eye look gives me a signal that she had nerves and a slight zone out moment. Great interview -- well crafted questions thus far.

Hi please ask Susan how it felt to have one of Prince's best albums 1999 dedicated to her. He dedicated 1999 to VASHTI which is Susan's middle name I believe. I'm so happy they stayed in touch with you, Denise and Jill. I think you guys gave Prince the support and family setting to ground him. None of you let him push you around or took crap from him. I hate to say it but he seemed a little lost in all the Purple Rain hype. Towards the end he was reaching back out to old friends and support systems. Thank you guys for making the 1977-84 so exciting. I hate that I lost all your memorabilia in a storm in Florida. 30 plus years of albums posters magazines videos are gone but I still have you to keep those great times alive.

This was so lovely💗 I'm thrilled to see my childhood idols together again. They sound the same as they did back in 83💗 It's funny bc my age group, we didn't know Vanity, we knew Apollonia--i'd scribble their logo on my school books lol. Later when Purple Rain went big and the media talked backstory, we were all wth is a 'Vanity?' We even waited for Apollonia when she appeared in Eddie Money's 'Shakin'" video. So no clue about Vanity. Time goes on, I'm obsessed with Vanity from her appearances on Soul Train, and the tv gigs promoting 'Under the Influence." Never got enough recognition for being funny af and super smart, quick witted. Truly I was so in awe that i was able to interact directly with Denise during her illness --she loved when i'd send her funny cat memes😂💗 Having grown up idolizing her and Apples and Brenda and Susan, it was overwhelming to have actual dialogue with someone i admired so much. I have the most sincere love and admiration for Apollonia too. She has such kind respect and sisterhood with Denise--it's rare that women can be so close, especially considering the circumstances that went on with Denise leaving and Apples coming in...But Apollonia is a truly classy, warm and amazing person, and i'm super glad her and Denise were like sisters. I treasure this video clip and still adore these lovely ladies💗

OMG! What a great interview! Thank you so much for bringing these ladies back together. I remember listening to them when I was young. I still have my albums from Vanity and Apples. These ladies were my heroes when I was growing up. To me they defined strength and courage.

This was by far the most interesting and entertaining interview to date. The warmth and friendship between all of you - combined with the stories - made this hour seem like 5-mins. I can't wait for part two.

As a longtime fan of both Vanity/Apollonia 6, this is so amazingly special and spectacular. What a beautiful opportunity and beautiful moment. The sheer magnitude of inspiration from the four of you will permeate generations to come. So much is possible for women in music today because of the four of you. Thank you for this and all you’ve done. ✨

Nothing I love more than a detailed background story to the greatness I grew up loving, and these ladies delivered! And kudos to Seth for asking the questions the fans always wondered ❤

48:47 - I never considered how The Revolution and The Time felt about not being included in the Rolling Stone magazine article. At the time, I was a child. My young mind couldn't process the impact of that decision.
