Something that I didn't see you mention is that with the live photos you can review all the frames and choose a different one as the finished picture. For me, this is especially is handy for selfies.
Wow! What a helpful tip video. I have been using the Photo app since the very first version came out and completely forgot about many of the features. The most helpful was the duplicate utility. Found out I have over 25,000 duplicate photos in my 165K+ photo library. Thank you for making this video.
The only dumb thing is that all downloaded photos get put into the Camera Roll instead of a separate Downloads Folder. The Camera Roll should only be for photos that were taken on the iPhone. Even Android is smart enough to do it this way.
@@paperplates1867 But, this makes for a mess. All photos should be in Photos, but, the camera roll should be it's own folder. I honestly believe that Android handles storing and managing photos better.
I wish they would let us add albums not in a folder to one. And I'd really like to see batch captions for photos. I use captions for when sometimes people's faces aren't clearly visible and being able to use one caption for multiple photos would be great.
🐬 Even though I have had iPhones and iPads for years, your videos on their features help remind me of tools that I don’t use very much or have forgotten about. Thanks.
Great job! Some features like cropping, stickers, etc. I wasn’t aware of. To other commenters, just because the app doesn’t have what you want, it’s not the creator’s fault!
Great job explaining these features!! It gave me a better understanding of the photos app and how to really get the most out of it. How do you know what your folders are and how many you might have once you create them? Do they come up as an option once you have them created? Different color would help at times too.
If you take a picture of a billboard, or anything, that has a phone # on it, you can press and hold the phone number on the photo and the iphone will dial that number.
You can have a many Photos libraries as you want. However, only one library can be used as the System Photo Library and be uploaded to iCloud Photos under one iCloud account.
🐬 Trying to physically backup the photos when you change your phone but don’t have a Mac, is really difficult. You can’t copy them because some of them are in the cloud. You can’t download it to your phone because you probably don’t have room on your phone. You can’t just copy them from the cloud, you’re just pushed to subscriptions and then you’re trapped. I am looking at getting a MacBook Air at some point, then hopefully things will get easier.
It still doesn’t do the one basic thing I need. When I move a photo to another album I do not need it in the Recents. I can never get organized if I can’t shrink that huge pile.
Informative video. Thanks. Do you recommend duplicating photos before doing edits. I worry that I will want the original for something and it will somehow get lost along the way. Of course, it uses more space. I'm also curious if you delete media or simply let it build-up over time. It's nice to retain everything but, again, it uses space.
Thank you very much for this informative presentation. I am baffled regarding the Duplicates function. I apparently have in excess of 2,000 duplicates in my Photos library, but there is no obvious information about where these copies might be located.
Hi Tele, To change the playback speed of a RU-vid video and you're using an iPad or iPhone, tap on the video. That will cause several icons to appear at the top right of the screen. Click on the icon that looks like a gear. You will then see a list of options. One of those is to adjust the playback speed. Good luck!
Yeah. I wanna enjoy the videos but I agree the talking speed very rushed rushed. I never used the speed adjustment to be slower to understand someone and I don’t think I ever will.
What I hate about the Fotos app. if when you create albums and put pictures in it. It stays in the recent pictures rather than move from recents to the new album 😒. It's messy like that HATE IT!!
@@siloPIRATE its an default album that has all the pictures. Its called recents but it has all the pictures on it so its not recents its like the camera roll on samsung. The trouble is when you move a picture to a created it stays in recents which ideally it would leave that folder or album how every you want to call it make it more organised
I’m going to have to disagree with you. Recent is a time based label and should absolutely keep everything that you recently took in there even if you have added it to another album because it is still a photo you recently took. I think way more people would be bothered by them being removed from there because what if they can’t find a photo in an album they think they put it in - at least they can go to recents as a way to find it quickly.
One total miss from apple is that you cannot actually click and open the location of a picture. 'Imagine' having a picture of a bakery, you want to go back to this, find the location based on gps data, but zero possibility of clicking the picture and opening maps to navigate there.
Turning off Live Photo doesn't remove any data unfortunately. You must duplicate them, and save “duplicate as still photos” to remove data. All metadata will be saved, except they are shown first in recent photos. After that you can delete the original Live photos.
Since it can’t read ur mind even if “AI”, it leaves it up to you to delete it from the cloud, but if u delete a pic off the app, it will delete it from the cloud as well and it tells you that before confirming!
Ahhhh I don’t know man The thing that annoys me the most is that they could at least give me an option to hide pictures from the recents if they are in an album It’s annoying af
The 3 dots have a name lol. The mases need to learn it 🤣 Nice run through. I like the map view and searching function & learnt something new with the duplicates (only had 2), how to create sticker and copy edits which I will never use
@@TheLastWordWithBob absolutely i as a Nutritionist believe one can have enough protein regardless the protein comes from plant, veg or animal etc it should be in your diet.
Nice video, but you need to slow down a bit. I’m severely hearing impaired and have to read your videos instead of listening, it’s very hard to read and look at the example you are showing on your device. I don’t think I’m the only person with this type of issue, you do good videos, just hard to follow.
All of that and iPhone still can't move a picture from one album to another. It copies which takes up more space. It's such a simple organizational tool. . . 😊
Photos app cannot do a basic thing, have a smart folder/album for the camera clicks (camera roll images) to separate it from the tons of noisy images from other apps like WhatsApp. It's 2024 and iOS cannot achieve a basic thing. So "robust"! 🤣 And the number of times you say "photos taken in your iPhone", no, most of those images in the Photos app are the ones sent to us and not the ones we captured in our iPhone.
Nah, it's not pathetic. If you want collages, just use a third-party app, not that hard. Also, the AI Magic Eraser is a new software feature. Give Apple some time and they'll most definitely add it in iOS 18. If those are your only complaints, then it doesn't seem that pathetic of a photos app to me.
Photos app is one of the worst. The entire “album” part needs to be rewritten. Can ‘t sort them, re-order them. Hate using it, so just don’t. Google Photos is light years ahead.
Why are you here? I’m asking for everyone who uses an Apple device, likes to watch videos about Apple devices, reads/writes in the comment sections about Apple devices only to find angry, bitter boring non Apple users ranting about how they feel. We don’t care, we don’t watch Android videos or hang out in Android comments. Shouldn’t you be out enjoying your super fantastic device instead of lurking around Apple users?
Most of my photos are scanned in (before smart phones were invented). Imports doesn’t recognize them. Any way to filter for pics with no metadata? Also for screenshots?
I don't approve for everyone steal my photo gallery to sales or shared my business enterprise to got income , that is not illegal on my personal owner business development manager ...
Hi, boomer comment 😂 For viewers who find your pace a bit overwhelming, the transcript feature works great for reviewing whatever one finds important and care to review - Summary: keep up the good work, and stay young!
Don’t forget you can identify landmarks and interesting places you might have unknowingly captured in your travels. If the ML tool can identify it, tap the photo and the name and description will also pop up. I think a symbol is on the photo next to the item.
🐬What a great video! So helpful and informative! Learned a LOT from this. Will probably watch it again later to ensure I haven't forgotten anything. Any chance you can do a similar video on the Mac Photos app?
What a great informative video for this senior with a new iPhone 15pro. You’re 100% correct about how robust the standard photos app is . Definitely no need for third party photo apps for me. Thank you for sharing. I subscribed. 👍
Thanx for this. Much of what you taught, I already knew. But you mentioned several things I didn’t have a clue about. 👍🏻 I use Apple photos edits exclusively (& then go into iColorama for the “fancy stuff.” Used to be a big LR fan, but have found that combining Apple & iColorama are all I need.) HOWEVER - once I have my albums/folders set up, I always want them in alphabetical order. Quite often I find that they’re totally mixed around. I think Apple expects us all to live with dates. I don’t. I used categories - ergo, alphabetical. (Yes - I’m very Old School, I know 🙄.) Is there some way to keep my albums in my preferred order? I appreciate your suggestions & tutorials.
