Some new tips for me, thank you! One thing I learned that may be of use, when using the forward-facing camera, you can trip the shutter with your right index finger on the "Up-Volume" button, instead of trying to hit the Shutter button on the screen. Feels much more natural for those of us who grew up with SLRs/DSLRs.
Thank you for making such lovely to the point no nonsense content related to iPhone and Apple in general. No time consuming intros, just getting straight to the point. I love the way you present information in an easy way. People who aren't techsavvy ill also be able to follow instructions and become a pro at using their devices. I always wait eagerly for you to upload a video on RU-vid :). Have been subscribed to you for a very long time. God bless you mate, Love from India. I hope you reach a million subscribers by the end of 2023. :) I have learn't a lot about iPhone because of you. Thanks again Tom :)
Thank you so much once again for another fantastic educational video. I’ve had so much fun with iPhone photos as a result of your videos. Your presentation style is first class and instructions 100% accessible. 🙏
You can also press the share button next to copy after you lifted a photed from the background, then in share you can select save photo and it will be saved to your camera roll.
I’ve always thought the weakest parts for me of my iPhones 5, 6, SE are 1) photos 2) calendar. I hate that you can’t sort the photos into folders then delete from the main album.
I was coming here to write that. I am putting them in folders simply so I can delete them from my main album. But deleting them from there also deletes them from the folder. aaarrrggghhh!!!!!!
@@You-Be-The-Judge I even invested in the much advertised Photo Stick one summer to sort out all the photos on my MacBook Air Notebook but the thing failed miserably and was NOT the success and solution I was hoping for!
Yes, photos in (non-shared) albums (folders) are pointers to photos in the main album and need to remain in the main album. Experiment with shared albums.
@@arthendrickson4860 Shared? Don't really want to do that. I was actually hoping for a way that instead of just making a copy of the picture (Or a pointer) that I could just Move the picture much like you can do with a computer or an android.
These are great tips, thanks. Even though I’ve had iPhones for years, I’m getting extra tips from all of your vids, and these photo tips are very helpful. Thanks again 😊
Great suggestions and tips! Especially the one about using hashtags in the caption field. Which raises the question of whether there is a way to bulk edit or bulk apply hashtags?
Excellent video. These were all very useful tips that will make my iPhone experience even better, Thank you so much! I’m about to binge watch all of your other videos. New subscriber here, 🙋♂️.
Tx man, u are Genius, we are od people with new i phones :) lifted image in Message with effect is amaizing. We tried via imessage, we assume that it works exclusively between iphone and that the operator will not charge us for MMS :). All best from Croatia
Thanks for your post. So much useful information, with a clear and straightforward presentation. I've had iPhones since they came out (2008 I think), not every one of course, and I'm always interested in learning new features. Good job!
What’s the proper way to delete all your photos from your phone if you need to clear some space. Are the pictures still in the cloud, if so how do I retrieve them. I also have Google photos and use it but would like to know how there all saved with the cloud. Thank you
Great - definitely learned many things. 2 questions: 1) How would you add a location to info of a say "cruising the Atlantic"? 2) Once I get a newer iPhone that can recognize items in photos, can you get it to populate all the photos that are in the library prior to the new phone?
Could you explain why some photos show up when you are on the camera app and selecting the photos on bottom left but they do not show up in the photo library?
Great stuff, Tom, found all sorts of things here. Why on earth doesn't Apple say somewhere that "touch the album" to get to the bottom of photos, and "touch the time" to get to the top. It is incredibly frustrating! Thank you.
I am using my US iPhone 14 Pro in México. It’s amazing how many of these special tricks are not available here. I cannot use “long exposure” at all. I can isolate the subject of a photo and paste it into a message, but cannot add special effects such as balloons, etc. I spend a lot of time trying to use all these tricks and shortcuts, and need to remember that many are subject to what country I’m in.
The look up function doesnt work in my country sadly. Like what you did with the dog to show what type of dog it was. Same for other things like flowers etc.
Hello! I love your content but I can't keep up with you. Each device is different in the settings, as you know. So, I methodically take time to rewind so I can learn what the FIRST setting is that you touched. Otherwise, all the rest of it I'm lost. Could you please pause at the very first setting, or have the sequence written on the screen? That would be awesome. ;-) Keep it up! :-))
If your iPhone is up to date, the settings are not different for different devices, so I disagree with your point there. Also, any time I discuss settings in the video, the steps are clearly labelled on screen. 🤷🏻♂️
Wish there were a way to see into which folder(s) I put a photo. Thanks for the info. BTW: I didn’t know Screen Recording existed until I saw this video and googled it. Don’t know how helpful that is without audio or editing tools to explain what you’re trying to document…
Don’t you get to choose which album you put the photo in after pressing add to album …you can also arrange photos using the file manager sending photos to iCloud, google drive external storage etc
@@arashyin phone settings optimizing storage for photos keep original or erase option maybe choosing erase when a photo is moved it really moves . Because I remember a moment reading and album it completely erased it from the gallery . Right know I don’t wanna experiment till I’m able to find a combination of devices that can work for me that affordable. If iCloud wasn’t a subscription base price on memory things would be easier
@@JONJon-COD I’d like a move or copy option on a picture by picture basis, not all or nothing. AND I ALWAYS want to keep the original in the Recents album.
What do you guys do with your old Apple devices that are at or almost at max storage and lose battery power v quickly? I can listen to my music if keep the charger in but my playlists don’t show up on the old devices … (iPhones 5, 6 & iPad mini)
Thanks so much for this video-I did pick up a thing or two!👍 i’m not sure if this is the proper place to make a request regarding BOOKMARKS on the iPhone, but this is the biggest bane of my life!! I bookmark everything I need to categorize or return to for any reason. The truly infuriating part is that when I am searching for a bookmark, I am unable to collapse the folders in which case I am required to scroll through hundreds, if not thousands, of bookmarks to find the information I need. I am really hoping that I will find a video by you addressing this problem (hopefully with a solution). Or if there is nothing on this topic yet please, can you do a video to tell me that all hope is not lost. Ha! 🙃 Thanks for all your help- you are much appreciated. 🙏
One thing I hate about the photos app is when you create an album rather than moving all the pictures you put in sed album it just copies it so the stuff you put on there stays on your recents 👎🏾
Someone else showed me the tapping on a photo where it removes the subject and you can place the subject to say in a text. I have iPhone 13 pro max, but I cannot get it to do it no matter how much I tap on the subject in a photo. it does not scan it -darn!
Here’s an enhancement to the ‘scroll to top/bottom of a folder’ tip. As soon as you start to manually scroll, you’ll see a scroll bar appear on the right of the screen (like you’d have in Windows File Explorer, a Word document or Apple equivalent). Press+hold the scroll bar then drag and you can whiz up and down the folder much more quickly but you’re also not limited to just jumping to top/bottom.
Thanks for the tips. These are great for the novice user! I've had an iphone for many years, but just do limited stuff, your videos expand my horizon in iphone!
Is it possible to add some photos taken from a different device to icould and eventually have it available on the iphone too? I recently switched from android and I have bunch of photos and videos which i want on my icloud and iphone . Please let me know how can this be done.
I reply to as many comments as I can. I get hundreds, and I can’t reply to all of them, especially when so many have questions that need long, detailed answers.
The screen I use is the Pro Display XDR by Apple. I've never reviewed it, but there are plenty of reviews of it online. Apologies if I've missed something in the comment, but I'm not sure what the link between the display is and a computer screwdriver? (I don't have any experience/recommendations of those)
Great tips! I don't have Visual Lookup yet but I learned about Google Lens from a friend. It took me a minute to figure it out (okay, I googled it lol) because it's within the Google app. Does the same thing until I get the new feature on my phone.
Can you do a video on *Lockdown Mode* …? I come from a region that's more popular with WhatsApp then care about iMessage and think a proper video on this would garner a lot of views & attention.
I am learning so much from you. I did that move photo into text thing (this is my level of tech speak lol), but I don’t get as many choices to do for the photo. I get that repeat thing but not confetti??
Thanks again for the tips. I would love to know how to merge ALL the duplicates - I have 6,406 of them! Don't really want to tap "merge" that many times.
Just yesterday I deleted some photos and of course regretted it today. I have backups with Google and Amazon but it wasn’t there. So glad you reminded me of the deleted photos album. I found the photo I wanted and recovered it. Hopefully I would’ve figured this out myself but your video saved me some time. As always, a great tips video.
Not in back ups?- that’s scary! Does that mean if you delete something from your photos album, that It is also deleting it from your backup programs? Does that include the iCloud back up program?
@@lpa9974 If you delete iPhone photos it deletes on all iCloud devices under the same iCloud account. My other backup programs were temporarily off auto backup hence no backup,of a recent photo. All is well now that auto backup of photos taken on the iPhone is back on auto mode.
Love the long exposure segment but when I look at the photo in the photo app, I tap in the top left but can’t see the menu that gets me to long exposure option - which I would love. What am i doing wrong?!
It has to be a Live Photo that you take in the first place for this to work. Make sure you have Live Photo enabled when you take the photo, otherwise the option won’t be there.
@@rdailey4 - Thanks, pressing the Library Icon gets me back to the latest image, but how do I move to the oldest?…..on iPad (different from iPhone) Thanks
@@WatchDSSID On Iphone I tap the time in upper left corner to go to the oldest photo and then Library icon to go back to newest photo. Not sure about Ipad.
@@rdailey4 - thanks I’ve worked it out now - it’s top right Battery Percentage icon on the iPad to go to the first image & then top left “Library” to go back :- )
