Thanks for the comment. Funny thing is that I tried one and I decided to put it in my desktop, which I use more often than the mac. I will have to get one for this machine.
Jan 2009 has a track pad that takes 40 steps, it hooks up to the left, not right. macbook pro 15" unibody manufactured late 08 & early 09 r diff. where would I look for the steps?

+Jody Harris I have some that I pulled from units that had bad motherboards. I haven't tested the others that I have but I have 5 white ones and one just recently bought another 13" macbook pro for parts so I have a silver one as well that should work. You can find them on eBay, I know most don't like eBay but personally I have not had any issues with any parts I've bought.
