Battery is almost the entire reason I got the ultra. Now if I forget to charge it or set it on the charger off-center I won't be stuck the next day. Also it was basically the same price as my old titanium model so it was an easy choice.

Went from a Series 4 to the Ultra. This is an upgrade. The look is more stylish and stands out from the regular AW. I always got the SS versions so durability is what I wanted. The screen looks and feels better as well with the flat design IMHO.

As a Garmin user, the Ultra feels so small on my wrist! So many RU-vidrs are saying how big it is, but if you’re used to wearing the larger Garmin watches it is much more comfortable to wear. Won’t replace my Garmin for the longer trail races due to it not having navigation, but will definitely be my main day to day and race watch for everything else.

Idk which Garmin you’re using but the Ultra feels bigger than my Fenix 6 Sapphire does. The square design takes up far more real estate on my wrist. It’s honestly sorta uncomfortable.

really garmin watches are much better I switched from apple watch 7 to garmin enduro 2 and bought it on september 17 and the charge was 80 percent and today it's 24 hours and still 40 percent charge, even though I don't do sports and the gps is on. All the measurements are also on. I don't know about apple watch ultra but garmin is really good

I got the series 8 and the battery lasts the entire day, sleep with watch on my wrist and wake up to charge it for 30 mins to reach to a 100%. I use the watch 1 hour daily doing sports with all notifications on and I never use the power saver mode. I have friends who bought the Ultra and they say it performs just like that plus one more day, that’s it.

I would have also bought the Ultra if only the battery would comfortably get you up to 6 days on a single charge, but they say it does on power saver mode which is total bullshit. The battery will last 6 days given that it shuts down most of the health sensors and AOD, why would you bother wearing it in such a case anyway!

I have a Series 4 cellular which worked fine for me up until last week when a software update went wrong and killed it. The Ultra is cool. However, I don't see myself needing or using all of those features. The size wasn't a problem because my analog watch is just as big, which is a problem with my work as both will be cumbersome to wear. I ordered a Series 8 cellular 45mm because I am not always near my phone but I can still be connected to information.

So far the only review mentioning how easy you can scratch things by Ultra watch bezel edge! Much respect for honest review and not hiding flaws. Well earned subscribe from me and now I'm interested to see your other reviews :) I'd prefer to see real tests (eg. noisy environment, sunny day light etc.) instead of simulated ones as simulation is not the same and sometimes meaningless (eg. playback of noisy env can have different sound frequencies due to used mic and speaker capabilities, even if it sounds similar to our ears, hence noise cancellation effectiveness can be significantly affected). Keep doing great work and all the best!

Picked up the ultra upgrading from the 4. I never upgraded cuz the watch never looked any different. I love the size & design, weight is negligible. I kept the 4 in a case with a strap, making it look like a G-shock style thus the size feels the same but the ultra looks so clean.

It's an SOS siren, not a theatre show, the tone, frequency and chirps can be carried for over 300 metres, not even highway noise can cancel it out. It's similar to AirTag it's not really loud in your palm but due to the tones and frequency, you can hear at longer ranges.

I am a recreational diver but I did not buy the ultra for that purpose. I bought it bc of the battery life, the look, and the durability. I also wanted to upgrade from my series 5. I really wanted a watch that not everyone will have! I like the action button too and the cellular features!

I am in a similar situation! I also have the series 5 and was looking to upgrade to the 45mm stainless steel (gold) series 8 for $750, or just get the titanium Ultra. I'm def leaning towards Ultra bc of battery life, built-in cellular, less scratch-prone in comparison to stainless steel, and a better size for my wrist!

$800 is one of the best deals Apple has ever had considering the price difference between the Series 8 cellular. Back tracked our way through a 220 mile ATV trail on day 1 to test it out. Did a decent job, even when compared to our stand alone $800 Garmin Montana 750i.

In the UK (That's where I am) I noticed the price difference between s8 Stainless Steel and the Ultra is only £20 so for me it's a no brainer! Same situation! I was looking at the 45mm stainless steel series 8 at $750, and the ultra at $800. And yup, 44/45mm bands are compatible with the ultra!

Upgraded from series 8 45 mm to the Ultra. I have absolutely no complaints about the series 8. It’s jam up. I only upgraded to the ultra because my carrier gave me the option and battery life. So far. The ultra has been very good also.

Bought the new Apple Watch 8 at launch. Was thinking about buying one for a few years, what really hold me down was the battery life. I was positively surprised by it, I wear it from 7 in the morning till 9 in the evening, and last me for three days definitely not expected that.

@@adl-2 I got the WiFi and always on display turned off. The battery life is pretty good, I put the watch on at 7.00 in the morning and turn it off at 9.00 in the evening, it lasts me 3 days.

Good review! I have an Ultra on order and it is bulky which concerns me when wearing long sleeve dress shirts. I am keeping my Watch Series 6 and if I need a sleeker profile, I will just wear it, but keeping the Ultra as my main watch for day to day business. I think I will be very happy with this setup.

The pricing is just way off. Either the stainless steel and aluminium models have way higher margins and they were afraid of the ultra not selling as well because of the crazy styling. Or they were afraid of pushing the ultra over the 1000€ price tag this year. But i really expected it to be about 1000$ or 1300€ .

Battery life and a set of features that suits me ... that is why i still use my amazfit bip(watch and heart rate monitoring is all i need from smartwatch, having tons of free skins is just a bonus, also battery life of up to a month is way more than apple can offer).

I do not get what people mean by the normal aluminum apple watches not being durable. I have had the SE 1st gen model since shortly after it came out. Have had it wacked against door frames, banged against desks and other hard objects, rubbed up against engine parts and bolts..and plenty of other things. It only has a very fine, only can see if screen off, micro scratch on the screen. Where as my coworker has a Series 7 and it is all beat up and scratched up and he doesn't do half the things i do....

i got iphone 14 pro max from iphone 12 and i wanna get the apple watch but the regular 8 looks like 7 i like the 8 ultra because of battery and screen is different but i dont like the thickness i like the regular 8 thickness but the 8 looks exactly like the 7 the 8 utlra has different screen nicer brighter better battery can you plz help me decide

i know you compared it to your aluminium watch, but when mentioning the weight of ultra, showing the weight of steel watch should have also been the case... to show that despite bigger, it is not that much heavier that the steel watch... i wanted to update from my S4 to the S8 titanium, if there was such a version like with S7... sadly, no titanium there, so giving a shot with the ultra... also, when mentioning the price, just comparing how much was the S7 titanium... i think the 45mm verion was like 900USD? so from this comparison it doesn't seem that expensive, does it...

Yeah the Ultra price is really great compared to their other offerings. Really sad they discontinued the titanium ones. I have a titanium s6 and it's just awesome. Got jealous for a bit when they presented roaming and a temperature sensor (for swimming) but now that I see titanium is gone I'll be very happy to stick with my s6 lol.

I love my ultra. The color isn't as silver as I thought it would be which is nice and im 6"5 and an avid adventurer off grid and its been wonderful. Heavier than I think we were all expecting and thicker. The speaker is cool. I just wish you could play Spotify on the speaker of it without needing wireless headphones
