Applying to Universita Bocconi in 2023 and 2024

This is a recording of a webinar in November 2022 at the start of the winter admission window for Universita Bocconi in 2023. It is full of advice and information for students looking to start in 2023 or 2024.
Mario Tabarini, Head of Guidance and Recruitment, gives an introduction to the university and his colleague, Valeria Pinti, then covers admissions, scholarships, accommodation etc.
We are also joined by two 3rd year students from the UK, Zaiim Premji and Georgia Giovannetti. They have also participated in previous webinars so you can follow their undergraduate experience throughout our RU-vid channel.
After about 35 minutes of presentations, the last 55 minutes or so is taken up with the answer to 30 questions from the audience on the day. These cover everything to do with admissions as well as specific questions about the English-taught Bachelor's programmes and student life in Milan.

The masters in accounting and auditing is taught in English too right? Also what would you say are my chances of getting the merit based scholarship if I graduate with an arithmetic score of 109/110

If you mean Accounting, Financial Management & Control then yes, it is taught in English. Chances of scholarships depend to a certain extent on the strength of other candidates as well as your own attributes. It is worth asking the question, however.

you don't need to submit the written part.

I am doing the IB system. Other than checking my SAT score, will bocconi check my IB MYP grades or my IB DP grades for admission?

Yes, the grades from your third to last and second to last year at school will be used. Your final year grades are not used even if you apply after you have left school.

@@astarfuture2025 So bocconi is not interested in the final IB DP grade? because in the last video regarding applying to Bocconi in 2022/23 the lady stated that the school was interested in a grade above 36/45.

@@Marco-wb4dd You should be on target for at least 36 in the IB but the grade itself will not be assessed. Your earlier academic record plus performance on the SAT/Bocconi test will be used to work out whether this is realistic. I appreciate this sounds a little strange but it is the only way to ensure fairness when students are applying with all sorts of different diplomas whose final results are know at different times.

@@Marco-wb4dd there is no one way to answer this question because all school systems are different. I would say that it is worth taking the SAT or Bocconi test in any case because your result here will give you a clearer indication as to whether you are competitive. The only other way I can answer this question is just to get the best grades that you can, which is not particularly insightful.

I graduated from High school in December 2022 , and I am now in my gap year. Can I apply to bocconi university and would a gap year affect my admission? And would I didn't have maths in my last two years. Am I qualified to apply or should I give my maths exams for 11th and 12th grade to be eligible for admission? I have 1400+ SAT score

There is no problem with having a Gap Year. You can apply without maths in your high school diploma. It might harm your chances of getting a place but if your SAT math score is strong, there is no reason why you shouldn't give it a go.

@@gm6275 cause I had already studied most of the stuff required for sath math in 9th and 10th grade and with few months of additional preparation I got that score.

Yes, there are scholarships. These are mainly made on the basis of academic performance. In the video this is covered at about 20 minutes.

There is no answer to this question in the sense that there is a particular score that would guarantee entry. To a certain extent it depends on how strong your high school transcript is because that is equally important. A really strong transcript might mean a lower test score is acceptable. About 52:00 into this webinar we talk about this in more depth. It also depends on which programme you are wanting to study and how competitive that is. I could give you a number (and I do in the webinar) but it would be pointless without you getting the wider context.

Does the Sat need to be done if i'm doing the French Internation IOB baccalaureat in order to apply?

You need either the SAT or the Bocconi test. The Bacc, IB , A levels etc. are not sufficient by themselves.

I come from a low-income family with only 5000 dollars per year, however, I got excellent achievements in academics. Do I have any priorities when I apply for the scholarship? My dad died when I was six so my mom was the only one working. I also have a younger sister. So if I don't get a full-ride scholarship I almost never get a chance to study aboard, especially at Bocconi.

I can't say that you would get priority over any other applicant but for sure, they would take your circumstances into consideration.
