Holy crap. ... this is a time capsule of when much music actually played music. I miss EC and Formage fest with Ed the Sock, pop up video and of course the weekly countdown.
Thank you for uploading this! I remember watching this specific performance when I was in middle school living in the middle of nowhere. I miss Much Music and Electric Circus so much!!!
The 90s Much was really good. Then in the 2000s reality TV started killing television because it was so cheap to produce. Then internet streaming became possible and that was it for Much. It’s not even a shell of its former self. It’s just a bunch of reruns of old TV shows.
Oh wow!! This is AMAZING!! I have not seen this before and to me it is so fresh and real (including commercials) LOL! Thanks for posting, this brings Aqua back to life and the fun, atmosphere they bring is so REAL!!
Wow 🤯 lol Thats really cool. I think I was like 6 or 7 when they filmed this. So I was only occasionally hearing them. If I had been a teen at that time, I'd probably be dead from partying 😅
Its funny i was into punk rock and metal but i always watched Muchmusic it was like a guilty pleasure back then and all my freinds did too, guess it was just part of our tv entertainment for teenagers no matter what kind of music you listened too.
Who's watching this in the year of 2023?. I'm 40 years old now and that year 1997 I was 14 years old that then. How I wish they could have a concert here in Philippines.
Pop music can be quite good as long as it doesn’t pretend to be anything other than empty calories. Aqua was really done quite well. Plus damm she is sexy.
I like how Aqua never tried to be "edgy" or anything - they allowed themselves to have a playful and innocent childlike image, and there is something very charming about that.
They stopped it once they saw a decline and that was because they decided to do pop music and rap music. If it ain't broke don't fix it. So I guess they thought it was broke and decided to fix it, when it didn't need to be fixed anyway.
Bring back Electric Circus - City TV and stop being such a soulless corporate schill! Fashion TV, EC City TV used to have so many cool shows about the arts! Now its just corporate garbage...
I hated Electric Circus growing up lol Now that I’m older I can see why I hated it so much. Regardless, it’s awesome seeing this. Brings back lots of memories.
I wonder whether Lene was still with Rene at the time. Their interaction was natural and they seemed close. But I also found Soren's behaviour quite weird at 11:48. Confusing. Maybe this was the start of the end.
I think they intentionally edited it that way to mean "That's all folks!". 4:48 The sudden cut from the crowd outside of a building from the battery commercial to the crowd outside the Citytv building looked very intentional too. It also looks like they edited out potentially boring parts of the interview. I could be wrong though.
Jeez it speaks volumes to me that in front of a bunch teens and kids that you would just casually mention a stupid rumour that you died of a heroin overdose? Obviously not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Not surprised as much they were a one hit wonder I wonder how many other dumb comments they made in front of kids around the world…

How is this lip singing?? You truly can’t hear her actual signing above the track??? Yikes. despite the crappy video quality you can completely hear she is singing live. You should check your ears or invest in some good headphones or speakers there…
