Thanks for sharing this. It will help the AR community learn quicker and get up to speed. I hope to integrate AR3 with additional accessories and tools, hopefully to share with the community in the future but that won't be for quite a while. I've gotten the hardware and motor parts for my AR3 using your kits but still need to do the wiring and building the circuits and that will take time as I have limited time to devote to this fun and engaging project. Thank you for your work on this entire system. The hardware design is pretty impressive and I can tell and appreciate the attention to detail. Where was one case where I had to shave with a lathe a small amount on the pipe for the upper arm to fit pulley ring but a small thing for someone who has a lathe.
Pretty cool, got to love Python. I remember looking at the previous version. Have you considered either creating joint objects or gather like variables into dictionaries, indexed by joint name, and iterating over them? Eg StepCur['j1']. It felt like doing might simplify the code.
Actually, I'd be interested in looking at doing this myself, if you'd like the help. In particular, I'd like to look at automating the code transformations. You only have zip files on GitHub? Would you consider placing the source code into its own repository uncompressed to make it easier to track and merge contributions?
Ive thought about revamping it. I know its a big flat file with alot of repetition but I thought it would be easier for non programmers to follow. I still may redo some things in the future.
Would you know if there would be a way to convert a .txt file into a Python tkinter list? i have some repetitive sequences and i could make a vs program that could make a .txt file. but i somehow need to get that into the ar4 robot program
Thank you for the great project. You can use pyInstaller to make an executable for the source. I believe this will eliminate the need to install python and dependencies prior to running the program and bundle the code to exe file, that you can ship as a release from github.
Hello, Thank you. in python 3.7 I have been using auto py exe pypi.org/project/auto-py-to-exe/ as Ive had issues with a few other compilers On the website you can download both the exe or the source. I just figured people might want to mess with the source code to learn python. thanks again.
