This is why one word may be used in some countries, while another word is preferred in others. In the Maghreb countries we understand what Minshafah means but most of the time we use Fûtah. This also applies to other examples. For Fish, we use Hût but we understand what Samak means.

Sayara comes from soorah which means fast, so a car is a fast machine, like Tayara comes from Tayir, or flying machine Arabaya makes sense for car but I always picture a horse on a carriage when I hear it
