I’m Turkish Cypriot, so we have strong connection to Egypt and the levant. We say araba for car and peşkir for towel haha
@MoroccoOujdaCity
@MoroccoOujdaCity Месяц назад
*Araba* is actually an old word which means *Carriage* In standard Arabic we say *Sayyara* Towel is *Futa* in standard Arabic and *Peşkir* is due to the influence of Persian or Ottoman/Turkish, or both. Greetings from Morocco (Fas)

I think in standard Arabic it's "Minshafah" Not Futa, Right?🙃@@MoroccoOujdaCity
@MoroccoOujdaCity
@MoroccoOujdaCity Месяц назад
@@This_Channel_is_Unavailable Both are correct because Arabic is a rich language with various synonyms for the same concept. This is why one word may be used in some countries, while another word is preferred in others. In the Maghreb countries we understand what Minshafah means but most of the time we use Fûtah. This also applies to other examples. For Fish, we use Hût but we understand what Samak means.

@MoroccoOujdaCity
@MoroccoOujdaCity Месяц назад
@@xXxMasrawyxXx Right, but it doesn't mean that حَلِيب is not فصحى It's a مرادف (synonym), because our language is rich ولله الحمد Simple example: In Maghreb we call Fish حوت This word is mentioned in Surate Al kahf. Does this mean that سمك Is wrong?

Sayara comes from soorah which means fast, so a car is a fast machine, like Tayara comes from Tayir, or flying machine Arabaya makes sense for car but I always picture a horse on a carriage when I hear it
