I tried to impress my Mother in law with the same (mathan) sambar when I was newly married. To my surprise and agony she said they will use mathan only for thithi saapadu or dhevasam. I am a malayali from TN and we use mathan in most of our dishes infact at least 2-3 times a week our dishes would be made with manja poosani. Hearing this I feel so happy because this Aunty is a typical Brahmin and she mentions several times that mathan is the speciality of this sambar. Part of my soul is fulfilled seeing this video and hearing her words. Recently moved to Swiz and started trying our authentic dishes and came across this. Loads of Love from Swiz

Whenever i do arachuvita sambar, my husband used to complain that coriander seeds dominate the flavor. This time i tried this sambar and it turned out very well. My hubby & child liked it very much and appreciated me. Tq amma. 🥰🥰
