ARB4X4 SKYDOME DOUBLE SWAG REVIEW.......
Righto.. So we have had these swags for years now and they have travelled all round the country with us!! We have camped in some seriously cool places we would never have towed a caravan and they've been an integral part of our adventures.......
So how do they perform? Are they quality? How do you put it up?
How comfy's the mattress? What do you use for bedding? How do you pack it up? How do you store it?
And are they worth it??

Hey Justin and Bec. My daughter watched this video and did a lot of research, but went with arb. She used it first time last weekend while camping on the Muddy Creek, near Murchison East with us last weekend. She loved the arb swag. Love the vids, long time follower of you all. Cheers Russ.

Great video, thankyou. I actually wanted to see a swag set up. The 4x kids set up swags when they visit for their kids to sleep in. All the cousins have a ball with bed time NEVER. I love it. So thanks again for the video. Take care xx

Good job guys. It looks like a good swag. We still managing 4 of us in double swag when we have to venture away from the van. But I reckon that will have to change very soon.

I found this really helpful thankyou It made me go looking for these products and prices. Im not ready to upgrade my swag yet but i definitely will get the swag bag to protect the one ive got now and upgrade to the arb double swag later. I wanted a quality sleeping bag for cold weather also so i found the review of that helpful as well thanks

I’ve got one of each, the arb and big daddy. The arb for the win hands down. Best part is the arb doesn’t droop in the middle coz of the third pole. The big daddy does droop and reduces interior space and can make your bedding damp with heavy rain

Quick tip when you pack it up you can leave the poles in the swag and just fold up the ends into the middle to make it quicker and easier

At 19.09 it is quite clear what makes this swag a pain in the backside to roll up..all the air inside the swag keeps building up when rolling it up and takes a mountain of strength to keep it sufficient size to fit inside the bag..Ronny Dahl has done review of this swag about a year ago

you keep the tent/swag closed at all times unless you are getting in. Everyone in Australia knows that. You don't leave a tent or swag with the door/window open for any length of time. Don't forget Aust. has ten of the most deadly snakes, not to mention scorpions and spiders. Then there are the drop bears and con-tours!!!

My understandng is RU-vid refer videos to viewers. Its not personal, if a viewer is not interested in recommendsstion, often people thumbs down is given. It is not a reflection of the content, more just relevance to viewer. Anyway that was how it was explained to me. Personally I figure if I dont like it (any video I view not just these guys) I don't thumbs down it, just move on, as 'trolls' love to get going on the keyboard. I dont want to be feeding negative comments especially if they are made online and can be misunderstod. I haven't thumbs down BTW, love these guys, lots of ideas and travel up North is good for our trip planning coming from SA. Appreciate the work that goes into the vids!

Thanks Justin. Another great video with useful tips and extras. I loved the way the kids dived in and helped without even being asked :-) I'd be interested to know if you (or any of your viewers) have any experiences with some of the less expensive swags available. As always, you get what you pay for

The only thing I’m not overjoyed about with these, and I have one, is that you can’t have just the top of the door opening open and the lower part closed, so you can see the sky without getting the breeze from the ground directly onto you. My jolly swagman is inferior in many ways except for that where you can be warm and toasty but still have a view of the sky.

This is exactly what I was thinking we need for our trip. Although we are not planning on leaving for at least another year. I just need to work out do we get 1 single and a double or 2 doubles. We have 2 adults and 1 child plus a rottweiller. Advantage of 2 doubles is the dog can go in 1 with either an adult or the kid. Or we can have an extra overnight guest etc.. If we go only 1 double will all 3 plus doggo fit??? They do look spacious

Lisa Dean it’s super easy. Just use the straps and buckled in the side. Just loop them around roof rack, clip together and tighten straps 👌

Never Roll Your Sleeping Bag ..... just stuff it in the bag i know it sounds counterintuitive but Google it.. Always Stuff it in the bag so it never has a fold crease

Would NOT recommend this swag for the price. Not wide enough for two people and the mattress is very uncomfortable. Shouldn't have spend more money on extra foam to sleep on. Can get a Coleman Northstar 10 man tent for the same price and it packs up tot the same size. Not happy.
