Thanks for a pretty solid tutorial. I do have one correction. At video sequence 5:35 the bolt location that was drilled, the bolt should be inserted from the inside and the nut should be on the outside. That’s how it’s pictured in the ARB manual.
This is the ARB bumper I have on my 4runner. And I put a 12000lb Warn winch in it, and it's awesome!! The only thing I found that I didn't like was the glare I got from my headlights shining on the back of the bull bar, so I masked the bull bar and the front of my 4runner off and used some flat black paint to cover the semi-gloss paint on the back side of the bull bar in front of the headlights.
Not the best instructions but better than nothing. This this is a whole lotta work to install. Between the ARB instructions and this I managed to do it. I ended up with only two extra washers. The instructions refer to a 17mm bolt but they are 19’s and no 17. I didn’t destroy my old bumper just for that filler piece.
This looks like a great install. I just installed an ARB bumper on my 2008 4runner. I'm having trouble with hooking up the fog light kit and connecting the turn signals. What additional parts are need to get this done. Thanks
As to the connecting of the turn signals follow instructions in the link provided. Go to step 43 on page 12. store.arbusa.com/Assets/PDF/3421200_10.pdf As to the fog light we did not install the ARB Fog Light Kit. So I am afraid I cannot give you first hand instructions. But here are the instructions from ARB. www.offroad-obchod.cz/data/a/arb-6821201-mlhovky-novy-typ.pdf Hope this is helpful.
That is an ARB Awning. It rolls out to provide shade to the side of the vehicle. Here is a link for more details about awnings. www.lowrangeoffroad.com/arb-awning-1250-mm-49-21-inches-arb3110.html Thanks for watching and commenting.
I want this bumper for my 03 t4r sport. How heavy is it? Is the 4ltr V6 powerful enough to haul it around? Where can I find info on cost etc? Finally, if I just wanted the center hoop does ARB make a bumper like that? (No side hoops near headlights). Thanks!
Dominique Stephenson it’s heavy. About 150 pounds or so and that’s before a winch. You need to do some stuff to your front suspension if you add that weight. Spacers or new struts to give it some lift. Definitely do not add this bumper to a stock 4R.
If I remember right, I think in order to make it compatible you also need to upgrade something to make it fit? Air intake? Radiator? Not 100% sure what it was, but you had to upgrade it to the next model year to make it fit right. I wish I could remember, I can't find what it was, now...
What happens if you don't swap the 21W bulb with the 10W bulb? With the 10W bulb, I noticed that the signal blinks really fast when I wire the signal light and parking light separately. It seems to blink at the normal rate when I leave the 21W bulb in.
If it blinks at the normal rate with the 21W I'd say leave the 21W bulb in. It should not hurt anything. Worst case scenario is it may blow a fuse. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Once you start cutting your stock bumper, there’s no going back. What happens later if someone decides to sell their bumper and go back to stock? Buy new stock bumper I suppose?
i recently bought a 200k miles 2007 4runner it was a little trashed but with some TLC ive gotten it back beautifully, i just need to save some money for some new suspension parts and ill be good, if anyone here has any suspension parts to send my way here in Belize, where the parts are so expensive, would really appreciate it.
