theres some tricks against bosses i remember in the first stage boss scene if you have helmet just touch the first boss quickly once he appeared the wont move neither summon his minnions, and keep shooting at ice crystal mammoth (4th boss) while crouching and the mammoth wont attack he will just keep jumping to avoid ur shot, also helmet kills the sub boss in 2nd stage (mermaid like creature) once u hit him from bottom with ur head or u can easily get through him without fighting or killing him just get in the bottom and go forward when he moves upward
Played the NES version...didn't really think much of the game at all but now I see it's not really bad or anything, wasn't there supposed to be a HD remake outhere?
While this game is Japanese, its style somehow makes me think of the early SoundBlaster games on PC with their mix of recorded and synthesized sound effects, where the recorded ones were often weird.
I don't think this player knew all the benefits of the helmet, like driving straight through the enemies and killing them instantly, also the third level boss, you can crouch pass below it to the right corner, and once it forms fully, just shot it from behind.
In general the arcades until the late 90's had superior graphics to their console/PC counterparts. That was their edge when more and more families had a video game machine for their living room.
I never got to experience the arcade in its heyday and wish I could have played games like Toki when they came out. There was a whole scene and experience that came with playing in the arcade akin to seeing a movie on a big screen instead of at home that is absent.
Can I replay this one...??? This one is played on easy mode and I am Darin to make it hard... I remember to catch my first girlfriend playing this game therefore I am planning to give a late rendition for all of us...
It's actually one of the hardest bosses in the game. He just glitched it somehow to just bounce back and forth instead of constantly attacking with its trunks and tusks like it's supposed to do.
+coŋejo pestileƞte you are not wrong all these games stand the test of time, i dont see anyine raving about the current gen in years to come they are play and forget.
***** You are searching for the holy grail of games :) i must say i grew up with all these retro games when they were not retro lol it was great time because you could see the advances from 8-16-32 bit now its all a blur and i seem to get bored fast playing new games with some exceptions, when i play my retro stuff i still get that nostalgia and excitment and i love the art and style of the 2d stuff still. I am now getting into the PC engine and loving that also the platformers and shmups have some awesome art and music.
