I’m 30 now... But once upon a time after school ( I was 12 or 14, I walked to my local pizza hang out spot Amici‘s pizza 🍕 were this game was located at that spot.... And there was this Asian kid in my class, same grade, so good at this game, he didn’t mind me challenging him and of course he obliterated me, so one day I kept training defeating other players in a high lvl competition and practicing this game and every time I challenged him, he would always one up me no matter what, I made it a goal to defeat him one day and convincingly, the time came when I finally defeated him for the first time, we had a crowd behind us even the pizza owner was hyped, the next day we graduated, keep in mind, we went to the same school, he never showed up for graduation, straight a Student, I asked my teacher what happened and they told me he passed away in a car accident, I told my parents if we can get a pizza after we left graduation, I walked in the store and I told the owner, my meal was free and I played 1 game in honor and to pay my respects, I lost the first match, I couldn’t concentrate and it all hit in and then I told myself that if I ever play this game it would be with him on the other side, I retired, RIP Jin mao
I was trynna figure out which kof I played the most and the first 5 seconds of this video brough back so much Nostalgia. From my childhood in Mexico to when I moved to the US, this will always have a special place in my heart.
If you have selected the original hero team and choose either one of the hidden character be it Kyo Kusanagi or Iori Yagami, you will get an bonus boss stage depend on which one of them you choose and the ending will also be 'extra' begin with either of them. The video ending is just a common ending if you choose any random characters!
Damn i like this KOF: Colorful, they implemented the strikers, a mysterious boss and the story got you in a hook a complete year until KOF 2000 was released.
I never liked the Striker system because I could tell it was attempting to copy MvC1's Assist system. But everyone remembers MvC2's Assists a lot more because of the permanence that system had.
I remember the first time when I played this game a guy ask me if I know how to play this , I told him "It's my first time playing this game" I didn't lie him , I win the game with 1 coin , so the guy told me , dude wtf ! you are a lier!
the best edition of this was on the dreamcast king of fighters evolution the best version of 99 Ever by far you could play as krizalid among other perks
I hope SNK releases another KOF collection and include this game. As of right now, I only have access to the PS1 version and while it's not bad, the arcade version does look a hell of a lot better.
ahh gotcha man, I understand. I prefer consoles myself as well. You could try KOF 99 Evolution on Dreamcast if u have one. A great port with a few extras. Arcade perfect and MUCH better than the PS1 port...which frankly sucks.
Orlanzo Etkins Thanks. I don't own one but I am thinking of getting a Dreamcast someday anyway, mainly for some of the games that came out for that. Like Garou. I really want to play that game.
yea man, u should definitely get one, trust me u wont regret it. You can find them pretty cheap nowadays. Its one of my favorite systems, it has a lot of great unique game that you cant find on any other console. Garou is awesome, I have it and play it all the time. One of my favorite fighters.
I can't play shit in this game! (I do sucked on most fighting games) But watching my brother playing i can tell you it's one of the most intense fighting game ever! (PS1 version)
it's not only the battle points he also need 2 of 4 members to actually get the extra battle including kyo and a random player or an entire team to get the extra battle
Oh those things. Well they aren't actually meant to be seen like that. I think it's cool to see those animated gifs. Especially the older ones like 94, 95, 96. After that the stages weren't as nice.
K's design came from an obscure game called daraku tenshi / fallen angel character called cool and maxima was harry Ness . To me k' always kinda had a Michael Jackson bad vibe to him .
I still like 98' and 2002 best. Yamazaki is one of my fav characters and i'm pretty sure hes not in this one not to mention not a big fan of the striker characters. Nice video and game nonetheless.
those 2 are overrated they don't have they proper story dont get me wrong i like RUGAL as one my BEST BOSS for a vs fighting but people know more about those 2 titles; including from XII to XIII but KOF has a long story i suggest you play those who have legit story and you'll see how great they were for their time !
