I have to say, your reviews are refreshing. I feel like you give us a fair review on your cabs. Not all this tech stuff no one cares about. And the fact that you own the real machines helps with the review.
This is the best review of this cabinet, and I've watched them all. Well, probably not but I've watched many. Love the "sarcasm" towards the haters. Can't wait to get my machine put together and play!
When you get the machine, make sure you connect to wifi and download all of the updates. Since the release of this machine they have made significant improvements to the performance that you will appreciate. 🍻
Excellent, knowledgeable review! Subscribed :) Oh...but you forgot the most important reason that so many of us are buying this....Root Beer Tapper! lol :)
Thank you so much for the side by side comparison to the real MK 2 arcade. I’m getting ready to buy the real one & was considering the 1 up machine. Definitely going to buy the actual arcade even though it’s a lot more expensive, it’ll be worth it.
solid review / breakdown. makes me want to jump in the arcade world but i already have enough space issues. do you keep these all on all the time? the power bills gotta be crazy.
You would be shocked at how low the power consumption is on these, or even my full size coin ops for that matter. I actually have taken the power readings off of these and did the math. If you left these on for 8 hours a day for 30 days, the grand total is about 56 dollars. That's for my entire arcade. But no, I don't leave them on all the time, only for videos or if my son and his friends are down there. For me, depending on what game I want to play I just switch on the breaker that has that game on it. The entire arcade is on its own circuit breaker box, divided up between 4 breakers. I just switch those on and off in the box instead of turning each machine on individually. 🍻
@@Riddict interesting. i guess i can see how they would be low on the consumption. sounds like you have a pretty efficient setup too. my parents have two 1ups (galaga and pacman) but i never thought about it much before. thanks for the info.
Question: Seeing that this cabinet has two speakers (right & left) above the screen, are all or most of the games included on this cabinet playback in stereo or mono??
Great honest video my man glad someone of your Size dud this comparison I am average player and I enjoy my 1ups very much good to see new positive review I subscribed to see your vids
just bought mine today, $400 black friday, -100 off. hopefully its worth it, was obsessed with mk series back in the 90s. this will be my first cabinet, it may not be a coinop but i dont have the space for those yet.
When you get it set up, be sure to connect to wifi and download the latest update. The update cleans up the few issues the game had when it was initially released. As a fellow mk fan who was obsessed with the arcade games back in the 90's, I can say you will enjoy this cabinet 🍻
I've waited a couple of years and finally pulled the trigger on an Arcade1up MK cab because it finally has enough features and quality is up there. If they release MK4 in the future I'm cool with my MK2 Deluxe because I think the home version of MK4 is better. MK4 still isn't perfect in MAME on top of that with online play doesn't give me any confidence in Arcade1up doing it right and I don't want Quan Chi's face on the sides of the cab lol.
I actually prefer MK Gold on Dreamcast, which is like an "Ultimate" version of MK4. It's actually graphically superior to the arcade version. Yeah that MK4 art is an acquired taste lol 🍻
I don't plan on getting this for online gaming. Its more for me and whatever company I have over. I would assume this would be good for me in that instance. It has all of the MK games I want: 1, 2 and 3, and seems to even have some of the other arcades I have enjoyed and still do.
It seems arcade 1up just releases updated versions of their old releases like They've Done With Street Fighter - Mortal Kombat - Pac Man - Killer Instinct
Thanks for the video. Didn't expect the size difference to the OG arcade machines. What's the screen size difference? I also read some reviews that the screen is washed out?
I have it but haven't played in a while. I'm ready to check out what the new one is all about in a couple months. I'm on the fence about the kameo fighter aspect, but we will see how it goes 🍻
I apologize for just getting back to you. No you can't change the demo. The only thing you can do is start a game and that game will be in attract mode until you hit start again to play it. Otherwise there's no way to choose the demo 🍻
The thing with the control panel being lower, equal or higher than the og's isn't the issue for tall people. It's the screen being way lower as you can see next to the og's. So tall people have to have their heads looking way down when standing and playing putting stress on the neck. Definitely a step up in the looks department. More authentic compared with the og. Cool review. Long live coin-ops!
I know, I'm 6'1, I already am looking down but it's not overly horrendous. However if I was any taller, then yes it would be rough. That's why I point out my height in the videos so that tall folks have a frame of reference. Also, in the past on other cabinets I've had many remarks about the control panel that weren't related to how tall a person is, it was just know-it-alls who think they remember the height of an original cabinet, but forget that they were kids and shorter back then lol. I just like to cover all bases since I do have the original coin ops. 🍻
Very informative review, but reviewing it next to your actual MK cabs has really saddened the trolls and haters. "You can't afford the real thing." "If you played the real arcade, you'd know the difference."
Awesome review man! I have last years MK 30th model and like the one piece look of these deluxe models. I swapped the screen out in mine but the regular monitor wasn’t the worst out there. Hit me up for a match sometime!
Oooh this got some games I like as well with gauntlet and rampage. This is pretty nice but it’s never crossing this threshold. Or all the toys and sneakers would have to go
Wow I had no idea the 1up is so short and narrow, how can 2 players play comfortably on this? Glad I saw this video, I don’t think I’m going to get the arcade 1up 😢 I see why they so cheap in price compared to an actual arcade machine, so under whelmed 😢
It is what it is. The two player aesthetic is just that, an aesthetic. It's a one player machine that connects to wifi for online play. That's the selling point
What's weird is that I have the original Midway MK2 Legacy and Capcom Legacy from 2 years ago, and the scanlines are fine on all the games. They must have messed them up on this cab and the MK 30th one.
@RIDDICT'S CLASSIC ARCADE I've owned the mk2 legacy and the 30th anniversary and the scan lines were absolutely horrible and didn't help the digitized look at all. Was hoping they gave this one a good filter or a crt filter like they did for ki which looks arcade perfect. Oh well I'll skip this one too. lol im too picky about the graphics looking good like the arcade and not pixelated so bad that you can't see the characters face like all the cabs they have released so far. Good review video though. Very well done!
@@GreenMeanie14 Thanks man. Honestly to me it looks like the KI scanlines/filter. I have the KI 1Up, and obviously the real MK coin ops, and I think it looks good. But I can't show you a true representation over video, you would have to see it in person. I've never owned the other 1Up MK cabs except the first generation cab that only had 3 games and zero scanline/filter options. So I'm only basing it on what I have which is the KI 1Up, the MK Deluxe 1Up, and of course the MK coin ops. I do have Street fighter big blue 1Up, and I think they look fine on that game as well. But hey, that's just me 🤷 Thanks for the kind words Shaunn! 🍻
@RIDDICT'S CLASSIC ARCADE you're welcome. Im gonna see if a local best buy has a display up so I can see it in person. If it's close to ki it would be fine.
Nah, just use common sense. Just say nah, don’t waste the money. Easy. You saying because you can just screams buyers remorse! Lol it’s okay man. Ego is rough lol
What? Lol You're fucking whack bro. You worry about your money and I will worry about mine. If I got it for free, then I would be lying to your face about what I thought about it. I paid my own money for it, and if I had remorse, trust me toots you would know it because I would tell you.
You ever play a cabaret arcade cabinet back in the day? Cabarets are arcade cabinets that were meant to take up less space. This is exactly the size of a cabaret. The way I see it, these are just modern day cabaret cabinets. 🤷 But there is a reason I show them next to the real full size machines, for people like yourself. I know that shit isn't going to fly with some people, that's why I show it.
