Great video. Arcane is a truly great and versatile stat, helped me out pretty well on my 'Minimum Base Faith, Incantations Only' run. Basically starting as Prisoner and only using Incantations without being allowed to level Faith. I used stat-boosting gear for the Faith stat while putting many points into Arcane, and it worked like a charm thanks to the Dragon Co- I mean, Onion seal. Very cool stat and very useful seal. And yes, Reduvia is amazing. Absolute bleed machine. Keep up the good work.

You could have used the spiked caestus with occult infusion from lifesteal fist. That’s what I did with my pure arcane build. Also, Slugma evolves into Magcargo.

I've never done an Arcane run before, but the real revelation of this run is how great it is to shoot ropes. I know what I'm doing this weekend.

This was a very cool run - you've done almost every stat! Vigor, mind, strength, dexterity, intelligence, faith, arcane, I think the only one you haven't done is endurance only, or at least, if you have, I can't find it, haha. :) And, fair enough, that'd basically just be a level 1 run because I doubt the upgrade in armor or heavier weapons (if you could even equip them), or even the extra stamina, would make a huge difference. :) Plus, it'd be pretty similar to the "Light Roll in Heaviest Equipment video" where you did get 99 endurance anyway, just with 60 strength and some dex and some faith and stuff to be able to wield the heaviest equipment. :) Very cool video - I was looking forward to this one and it didn't remotely disappoint. :)

In case anyone ever wanted to try something similar, occult scaling on a claw weapon could have also worked really well. It does more damage than a bleed infusion + all the claws have innate bleed build up so still gets a big big bonus to bleed anyways. The only downside is I dont think there are any somber claw weapons 😔. also claws are just fun to use. the raptor talons make your charged r2 a backflip. who doesnt want backflips.

FYI Yura doesn't spawn until either you hit Nerjus or the other way around. Kinda surprised you didn't do an occult/bleed infusion, but then again you did say you wanted to avoid melee in a no vigor run.

I hate the fact that short-cutting Millicents quest actually gives you the better talisman. They should have done it the same as Alexander's quest, where you get a better reward if you see the quest through to the end.

I had a neat double shot glass of woodford reserve rye and chased it with a boiled egg while watching this, I imagine some of the buff consumables could potentially taste and feel the way that combination did 14:26

I decided to get overleveled as shit and put 99 into arcane. I ended up basically doing the exact same strategy as you with Frenzied Burst with the Dragon Communion Seal to clear enemies in dungeons. Occult/Blood Star Fists for my melee. It's a fun stat to build around. And it makes it easier for you to get the pickle ingredients if you need to focus on more than just leveling up Arcane.

my favorite part of the arcane only run was the faith spells

I see, you could have saved the dragon runes if your last blow was on horse back and you sprinted back to grace before the dragon icon showed up. That way you could’ve have got the pickle and do the dragon again.

I actually did this with the Ripple Blade. It was a hellish nightmare of strife and sadness. Really good with Grease, though.

The reason fall damage feels so wonky is because fromsoft used a caveman formula to calculate it. They just check the y position from the start of the fall against the y positon at the landing point. If you dropped up to 15.99 meters, you take no damage. At 16-19.99m, you take between 30% and 50%. At 20 meters, you die.
