Archive Garage sent out THREE boxes. In the last video we installed the Ubolt flip kit and in this episode we installed the high clearance cross tube! Make sure you stay tuned for the Shock Relocation Kit giveaway
Some people, mostly rockcrawlers i assume, connect this cross tube with heim joints instead of bolts so that it gives the rigidity while still retaining flexability. Another awesome product by archive garage. before the hangers and cross bar install, my truck felt like the rear would just follow the front end, giving that jittery feeling going over bumps, but now it feels like one solid unit from front to back.
Yeah I looked into them a bit. Honestly I’m not sure how much different the bump feel would be between the two. Two noticeable differences tho is that 1) the accutune ones have a hole in the center I believe which can fill with water and mud (not a huge problem but just a weird thought for me having water sit in there) and 2) accutune has the different sized left plates to get the right size you need (with my whole rear end being archive tho I’m fairly confident their bumps are the proper size for my set up)
How is suspension geometry not that good stock?? It's literally built by engineers with years and years of experience and Tacoma been around forever. Trucks aren't made to be beat offroad.
The owner of archive explained it to me over the phone once. I’m a bit fuzzy on the details since it’s been a while but something along the lines of Toyota built their 1st gen tundra and carried that platform geometry over to the second gen Tacoma instead of building it as it’s own truck. Idk I probably butchered that but something like that. Long story short they hit the ol’ copy paste between two completely different trucks
