can anyone tell me why humbug era Al is so fucking beautiful???!! I mean that lovely hair, that glowing skin, those dreamy eyes. Maybe because he was in love, that's why. idk!
Alexa Levi It was as a matter of fact cause he was in love , also the fact that these songs he wrote put him in a happier place in his imagination , after the break up with his girlfriend his peaceful and joyful self was shattered and broken . Then he evolved into this greaser tough guy with a jerk attitude , but underneath those shades and leather jackets there is a sensitive and hurt Alex .
The new key works better than the old one, IMO. Alex's voice being deeper than previously just adds to the feel/mood of the song. Love the massive swirling reverb on the keys, and Helders' quite frankly fucking phenomenal drumming. Immense.
Man when you check out tlsp and Arctic Monkeys, Alex is a genius talented artist + an amazing young lad. He's actually a legend in the music industry and all the other musicians are excellent as well
ashamed to say im a new fan of theirs because i live in the us but oh my god this performance got me crying. something about it - maybe how sad alex looks, the way that you can hear the emotion in that riff so clearly, the way the entire performance is so raw, the way alex is singing so softly at the beginning or the fact that the tone is deeper. it just got to me.
He just said "long live humbug era", not that 505 is from FWN. Nobody said that. And yes, even if 505 belongs to FWN, when they played it on the Humbug Era, it was very different, just like it is different when they play now.
@@Alicoolzafar it's traditional for me to be attracted to good guitar riffs, bass line, drum composition and great range of vocal from which ever bands i listen to for the first time. After that i realise they're good looking too. Seems like a blind audition to find my favourite band according to what they play.
i'm going back to 505 if its a 7 hour flight or a 45 minute drive in my imagination you're waiting lying on your side with your hands between your thighs and a smile...
I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination, you're waitin' lyin' on your side With your hands between your thighs Stop and wait a sec When you look at me like that, my darlin', what did you expect? I'd probably still adore you with your hands around my neck Or I did last time I checked Not shy of a spark The knife twists at the thought that I should fall short of the mark Frightened by the bite, though it's no harsher than the bark The middle of adventure, such a perfect place to start I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination, you're waitin' lyin' on your side With your hands between your thighs But I crumble completely when you cry It seems like once again you've had to greet me with goodbye I'm always just about to go and spoil a surprise Take my hands off of your eyes too soon I'm going back to 505 If it's a seven hour flight or a forty-five minute drive In my imagination, you're waitin' lyin' on your side With your hands between your thighs and a smile
Sure, Alex at the beggining of the band looked very cute and nice and suitable for all the fanfiction stuff, but doesn't anyone see this huuuuge gap in quality of his singing? I mean, studio versions are all perfect, but his early live performings were not that good, he was not hitting the right notes and overall his voice sounded kinda strungled, even in this video. Just check 505 live from some 2018 concert, it's sooo much better.
it might be because during this era of the band, for some reason, they switched the key of 505 to C minor instead of D minor (a whole tone lower). idk why they did that, alex looks like he's struggling a lot
I mean...he was barely 20 when FWN came out so he was a pretty good singer for his age... But the whole band were always incredibly tight and well rehearsed, even in the early years, and his occasional voice cracks or incorrect notes (which i honestly rarely ever heard) never bothered me. infact those little mistakes and imperfections made it all that much more soulful... more human
I love his emotional, raw singing at all times, all stages. Personally, I like the live performances of FWN songs of 2007/2008, given that they were performing them still being on the album ''mood'' or ''atmosphere''. 2018 Alex is great at all times, but I much rather hearing him on TBHC than earlier albums, especially due to the extravagant, exaggerate, imponent, huge Bowie accent that doesn't go that well with 505 or My Propeller.
