I have 2 of them on my ESports duo and 1 more as exhaust on my NZXT h500 . Really good product indeed , almost silent even when under load , my cpu air cooler keeps my 13600k while gaming ( 85w- 120w ) in very good temps ( 58-64c ) and all the components of the case are adequatelly cooled (mb , ram ssd's etc.. ) . just set and forget . Arctic is a really nice company , and one of the few that really pay attention to my customer gategory which is "reduce the cost by removing unecessary features like rgb etc ..

I got a pack of these (p14) when my old case fans were dying, there were no real reviews of them at the time, tried testing them myself as well as I could on a home setup. Found them to outperform my corsair maglev fans I used on my aio at my acceptable noise range. I didn't really believe the results until other reviews confirmed my findings. This was years ago, they definitely are great fans and my go-to option.

Thank you for testing this fan. I really like these fans of Arctic or other brands what are good value! I have used Freezer 34 eSports DUO with two P120 and P12 & P14 installed on case of Lian Li. So I’m really happy to see the test report of P12 controlling the rpm at 30%~60%. That would be of great reference value to me!😄😄 It would also be great to see test reports on the built-in fans of some popular computer cases in the future, such as NZXT and Fractal Design if you could.

The P12s (slim version) also have a known hum at 50-65% RPM. It is nice to see the data to show it!

I thought the good one was the 'CO' (continuous operation) version as it used a better bearing. Non-CO: fluid bearings CO: dual ball bearing Edit: Apparently the max version as well uses dual ball bearing so perhaps its the best of them all. Also calling it much better was my mistake, as while the bearing should be superior for durability it introduces higher noise which could be a tradeoff not worth in a fan.
@HardwareBusters
@HardwareBusters 7 месяцев назад
DBB is for higher operating temps. In general it is considered more reliable than lower quality FDB, but this is not always the case. There are some FDB types with extremely high operating hours, but they are not as tolerant to high temps as DBB are.

One of the best fans in the history of ever. Generally , all their fans are good, but the P and F series are the synonym of "damn good and honest-for-the-money fans". I would know , im rocking for years now 4 F14's, which i brought over from my old tower/pc in my now new Lancool 216. I dont even remember how many years i have them!

Hi , the same things i have find from Arctic fans but just as a consumer spending a lot of money for pc fans i have a big box with fans, So i resume that cheapest performance fans you can find out there is from Arctic, the P series is for Pressure and F series for airflow, also you can find maximum performance but a lot noisier from BioniX series witch have also Pressure and airFlow categories ! cheers !

THE standard fan. I can hear above 16KHz just fine (at an age above 40) but the noise being shifted up there has another advantage, is that any bit of material in between you and the noise source say a fan filter or even chassis structure and mesh does a lot more to attenuate high frequencies than low ones. A frequency range that's very important to keep clear of excessive noise is 2 to 12 KHz for two different reasons. 2 to 5 KHz is the sensitivity peak (pinna and canal gain) then follows a frequency range where your hearing is still pretty good but there's generally fairly little natural sound in there, so sharp noises falling there tend to be perceived as painful. But if there's a decent fall-off then you're hiding that noise in a lower-frequency peak, so that's fine. 10dbA claimed is of course an absurd figure. Sounds like they forgot to plug it in. :D
@SianaGearz
@SianaGearz 6 месяцев назад
Hold on, who says 10dbA? The spec lists 0.3 Sone. That's 26 phon, that sounds in the ballpark of what it could actually be. Phon value is equivalent to dB at 1KHz but is frequency perceptually weighted, so by all reason the raw dB value should come out higher than 26 and lower than 33, leaning closer to the lower end of this range since the peak isn't too far off the 1KHz mark. This is well in line with your measurement of 28-29dB.
@SianaGearz
@SianaGearz 6 месяцев назад
Small correction, since A-weighted dB are weighted according to the 40 Phon curve, the difference should be really small, that is, 0.3 Sone should come out very very close to 26dBA, i had a little brainfart, but it doesn't change the conclusion much, sub 3dB isn't all too much difference to write home about and can come about in any number of ways.

@stinkycheese804 5 месяцев назад
Your question seems strange. Fans are generally bought based on what fits the mount, and it is practically always a bad idea to get a smaller fan than the max size that will fit that mount. As far as will it result in more airflow, all else equal, of course. However more is not necessarily that much better if you don't need more airflow, and if you don't, then there is no quieter operation to use a fan at the minimum PWM needed to keep it spinning, "necessarily". It is really easy to get obsessed about using too many fans. Set up the system and measure temperatures.

Hey Aris, can you review the Arctic P12 Max next? It is actually a follow-up to this fan, and was released earlier this year. It often can be found as cheap as the PWM PST (I can find a Max for 7.99 here in Belgium).
@HardwareBusters

Will try to find all Arctic fans and test them. If you want faster results, check frequently the Cybenetics fan database, because it usually takes me 2-3 weeks to make the review and the video.

@@HardwareBusters Hi Aris, thanks for the info about the database. I'll check it regularly. I forgot to mention that other reviewers also determined that the P14 ARGB is slightly better than than regular P14 so that's something good to test aside from P12 max. As for the database, it looks like some of the data for fans with different speed modes are incorrectly listed. For example, Phanteks T30 & Superflow Megacool have different RPM used for noise normalized @ 25dBA for the exact same fan.

@testynetesty
@testynetesty 6 месяцев назад
@@Erksah02 it is, dbb always have some noise, depends on realisation, but arctic ones are pretty loud and have unpleasant pitch. According to my experience rifle bearing arctics can work around 5 years in pretty harsh conditions without much degradation, which is very good result for rifle bearing. In that regard i can't reccomend dbb ones to anyone who cares about noise even a little. If default arctics are cheap in your region they are good enough for daily usage, and then if you want more longetivity/static pressure/quality you can look up gentle typhoon themselves or their copies from other brands such as bequiet sw4 pro, noctua a12x25, xpg vento pro, lian li p28, phanteks t30, valkyrie x12, superflower megacool, cooler master mobius. Or sth in-between like teucer t30 or thermalright k12/b12.

budget fans are beings of a paradox: if you buy them you need a separate room to put them in but if you can afford it you can also afford higher quality fans with better reliability and go with PPC, T30 or some Delta monster
@stinkycheese804
@stinkycheese804 5 месяцев назад
Meh, no. I've bought both inexpensive industrial grade fans from electronics surplus suppliers, and cheap standard sleeve bearing fans, and the cheap sleeve bearing fans (still major "PC" branded) are not especially loud at all, are actually quieter than the industrial grade (with a larger, stronger/torque, dual ball bearings), but I still use the industrial grade because of their higher build quality and that even if they start to exhibit bearing whine, they tend to still run for another decade before failure. To be clear, these Arctic fans reviewed, are nowhere near the quality of those industrial fans, but they do usually cost about $25 and up if you don't find them as surplus and often need to rewire them to the motherboard or 4 pin PSU harness molex connector. That stated, I have never had a single one fail, reusing system after system rebuild (leaving them in the same ATX case when all interior components were replaced).
@Z4KIUS
@Z4KIUS 5 месяцев назад
@@stinkycheese804 to put it shortly: audible is too loud for end user applications so you need server room for these fans but if you have server room you probably can afford fans that will endure 10x longer than cheap ones

You are doing the best fan reviews online. Very thorough indeed backed by independent analysis and data. Very hard for anyone to argue with your results. If I can only make 1 suggestion. On your website could you group fan reviews under a Fan subheading, AIO reviews under an AIO subheading and air coolers under an Air Cooler subheading. This would make it much easier to find a particular review or subsection like if you are looking at all fans you have reviewed or all AIO's you have reviewed etc. Rather than just having all those products just under a Cooling section. These Arctic fans are really impressive especially at lower fan speeds. Reminds me over their AOI's which at lower noise levels are unbeatable especially for the price.
@HardwareBusters
@HardwareBusters 7 месяцев назад
Will think of that and will do it at some point, when fan and cooling reviews will be more. Currently our cooling reviews are not so many.
