I just want to say I love ARCTIC. From the Liquid II 360 (would've gotten a 420 if it fit in any cases...), that keeps my 5900X cool even in this insane summer heat, to the 7 additional P12's that provide fresh air for the 3 on the Liquid II... And even at fairly high speed, the noise of my GPU fans are louder, than the P12's. Now I'm not a huge fan of RGB normally, but after moving to the Lian Li O11 XL recently (unfortunately doesn't fit P14's well, otherwise I'd use those instead), I'm slowly coming around to appreciating little bit of disco in my case, since that O11 XL showcases everything. And I've been tempted to switch out all my P12's for either BioniX's or P12 ARGB's. But it's hard to justify replacing 10 fans that I bought just this year... Aaah, 5 fan value-pack for the RGB models, when? :P

Thanks for the review and very happy with the results you publish. You can actually have the cable fitting between the 2 fans when they are side by side, that is the way we assembly them on our Liquid Freezer II.

You’re welcome! :) Right now i’m unable to double check, but if i remember correctly, on the LFii you’re routing the Fan cables on one side and RGB on the other. But I was talking about a scenario where you have 3 sides which are flush. e.g a case where the fans are pressed against one side (left/rigt). In that case, if you want to have the fans completely flush to each other too (top/bottom), you have basicly 3 sides of each fans that are pressed against something. On the LF however, the fans are free on two sides.

I am glad I came across your channel, or your channel made its way to me lol. Anyway great channel and you got 1 more sub. I was a bit concerned about the hum, but seen as i want ARGB i find these seem to be the best for what I want to spend as sadly CM Sickleflow doesn't seem to work with Mystic Light.. This will be my first build and the fans are the last parts to buy for it, and already spent well over 2k, so I think for performance and lights on offer for the price I should give these a shot. I can return if i get the humming i guess.

Having the cables come out on the same arm would require a wider arm, which would obstruct airflow more and increase noise. That's my thinking as to why this was done. Also the way you're holding the fan in the image, with the rgb cable on the top, it's actually to the side enough where it can be tucked in between the front and rear corner pieces where the screw goes, it will not prevent the fans being flush.

Considering the quality of this video, I'm confused as to why you don't have a lot more subscribers! In any case, you just gained one. Now about the fans, I'm impressed! I truly expected the ARGB fans to be noticeably louder than the originals and perform worse. But 2 degrees higher while being quieter is basically nothing in my book. In my country, they do cost twice as much as the originals but now you've got me thinking.... I have some questions and I'd be grateful if I got a reply: 1) If I daisy chain the RGB connectors of multiple fans then I will only be able to use the same effect on all fans, right? Also, 2) if I daisy chain like 5 of them will the signal (RGB and PWM) still be powerful enough? Or is this a bad idea? Thanks in advance!
@STSYT
@STSYT 3 года назад
Thanks! Means a lot :) We're slowly getting there. 2) 5 should still be fine. But this will depend on your motherboard. Though I wouldn't go much higher than that as you may burn out your RGB/PWM Header at some point. Due to a different video I still have the 3 P12's + 3 other ARGB Fans running over the same Header. This works perfectly fine, but I wouldn't want to test the limits here. 1) Not really, funnily enough, Arctic's ARGB extension cable does not seem to work like a splitter. Of the 6 Fans, 3 are the P12's and the other 3 are running by using a normal RGB splitter. As expected, the last 3 are just repeating the same pattern in sync. The Arctic's however can be used like independent LEDs. So effects like a moving color is jumping from one Arctic to the next one until the other 3 Fans are showing the effect simultaneously. As to how much you can individually control the Fans will completely depend on the Software you use. My barely-functioning dragon center has very limited possibilities, so I was only able to verify everything using the -wave- effect. I hope this helps :)
@MrStevearas
@MrStevearas 3 года назад
@@STSYT Alright then, here's to hoping my new MSI MPG B550I Gaming Edge WIFI doesn't burn if I use its ARGB header to power 5 P12s. I actually just took a look at the manual, and it says that the ARGB connector can handle up to 75 LEDs (Max 3A). The Arctics have 12 LEDs each, and 0.4A input so 5 of them in series would mean about 2A. For the PWM, one of the connectors can handle up to 36W (3A again) so I can theoretically connect about 27 P12s on a single header.. I think I'll be fine XD Again, I'm positively surprised. It seems like Arctic has figured pretty much everything out, including making daisy chain connectors and still having the fans show up individually...Nice! Not great to hear that Mystic Light is that bad, but oh well it is what it is. I'll probably be using the wave anyway or some other rainbow effect so hopefully AT LEAST that works correctly. Your reply is very much appreciated and is definitely helping me out a lot. Thanks man, good luck with the channel! It deserves some growth and hopefully you'll get it soon.
@manfredDmeer
@manfredDmeer 3 года назад
@@MrStevearas 27 fans on one header... even if it was 3A one, is something I'd be leery about. Because the wires in fans are relatively thin, passing that much electricity through them, might not be such a great idea. I'd maybe consider going 6 fans on one header, but beyond that I'd start getting paranoid about the temperature of the wires themselves. Granted, maybe that's just me, but I've seen too many electrical fires happen due to extension cables (and daisy chaining is a lot like that)...

Consider me impressed! I am thinking about getting 2 value packs + 1 of these fans and here is why. I recently built a new pc, with a 13th gen Intel CPU. I've put the entire thing in a Corsair 5000D case with a Noctua NH-D15S CPU Cooler to which I added an additional 14" Noctua fan, thus making it ~ the same as the non S version. The CASE also has 2 in 14" noctuas and 2 out 14" noctuas, also kept one corsair 12" for the exhaust. Now the case is black, and it's dark and since in recent year, the pc case has become more than just a case, it's a show piece, i am considering lighting it up. I am very interested in these fans for the case, i will test them out. I was also thinking about a corsair ML fan, but a friend had noise issues with 2 brand new ones out of a total of 6, he got those 2 changed eventually. Thank you STS

Discovering the channel and I must say it’s a nice video, great job I do have a question by the way, I have an msi motherboard more precisely the msi mpg z390 gaming plus who does have the classic 4 pin rgb connector on it but if I were up to buy those fans I wouldn’t be able to use it on them So what are my possibilities here, would I need to buy their a-rgb hub too ? And which software those fans are compatible with so you can control them fully ?
@STSYT
@STSYT 3 года назад
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video:) Well thats an issue but its solvable. A rgb hub wouldn’t solve the issue as those just multiply your outputs. You would need to get some sort of a 3-pin rgb controller. You could go with a cheap one that is controllable by an ir-remote. Propably around 10€. Possibility 2 would be something that allowes you to rely on motherboard controll. Arctic even produces one: www.arctic.de/en/A-RGB-Controller/ACFAN00180A With that one you can eithet use the ir remote which would allow you to go full rainbow, or switch to the 4-pin from your motherboard and use software. Though this is limited to 4-pin functions, such as every color, bot not independenly controlled. The standard software for MSI Motherboards would be their dragon center which you can download on your motherboard product site. I hope this helps you :)

@user-pe7wx8qq3u 3 года назад
@@STSYT It helps but still not completely, I just looked at their website about the controller you mentioned but I lose the principal thing, the possibility to fully control the color of the fans, what's about their other controller ? I read that since you connect it via USB on your motherboard you can fully control the colors with their software later on, like the icue from corsair if I understood well Isn't that a better solution ?

I think you’re talking about 12/5v rgb. One is a 3-pin connection and the other one a 4-pin. Just match it with your mobo and you’ll be fine:)

@STSYT

Those are the 140mm non-high-speed version. They are spinning at only 1000RPM. They are probably the quietest fans out there, but they should only be used if there's a really beefy air cooler on the CPU.

Question: i am running in my 4000d x4 id cooling tf 12025 argb (i got these long time ago) and i want something that performs better and low noise. I was looking at the Arctic P12 pwm pst argb. Would that be a good upgrade? i mean i dont know if idcooling is lying on the cfm number in box. My idea was to use 4 of those arctics given i already have a liquid freezer II with those same fans and they are way better at least in noise than my previous asus tuf liquid cooler.

Which fans would be better for an 240aio cooler the p12s argb or the cm sickleflow 120? Which of these would be quieter?
@STSYT
@STSYT 3 года назад
I would say the sickleflows are a bit better performing, but the p12’s are way quieter. I would still go with the p12’s as the performance benefit would not be that big with a good radiator, but the noise will imidiately be noticable.

@@alvaroromero3888 It boils down to performance vs noise. P12s are quieter and bionix push more aire. Personally, I would go for the p12 argb as it’s enought air for me, so that I can go quieter

Kinda. The Wings are not sticking out, so it is not possible to directly see the glowing wings from the side. Though there are still lights involved. So the color will still be shining on everything around the fans, thus you can see the light but not the wings themselves.

Sadly I have been disappointed with this brand several times already.... I tried the ARCTIC BioniX F140 and the ARCTIC P14 "Value Pack" and have got an annoying humming noise at certain low RPM's. So maybe as budget fans the arctic brand is OK. But in my opinion be quiet! is the real silence category. Anyway thanks for this review this was intresting,honest and informative!

Thanks! Thats great to hear:) I’m sorry about your experience. I can’t say anything about the F140’s but i was really happy with the p14’s. The humming noise is what i was refering to in the 0db section. In the past i was always just slapping silent wings into everything. But IMO arctic p12’s are just pushing more for a better price.
