I honestly love cs:cz, it all feels different somehow... Probably because as a kid, ive seen some cs campaign, and years later, I found out... Deleted scenes it was.
@@warth45 yeah the bots in CZ are the best for me except they dont know how to push buttons, but they are much better than podbots for me, glad they can also be put in CS 1.6....
The doors in Prodigy which required pushing a button to open in 1.6 are automated in CZ to help with bot navigation since they don't know how to press buttons Airstrip in CZ removed the computer room b/w CT spawn and the tunnel, possibly for balancing reasons
Tbh i always feel like cz should hv replaced the 1.6 as how the 1.6 replaced the 1.5. Cz is definitely an update compared to the 1.6, it has better visual textures and some new sounds, i think they share the same recoil pattern too, but at the end most of the cs tournaments ended up using 1.6 and totally overlooked cz.
I agree with that but 1.6 has its charm and just so you know, Condition Zero was developed by other devs with little assistance from Valve thus it didn't replace 1.6.
I think what makes Condition Zero's default maps pop out was their usage of detail textures. It's a trick that, well- beefs up the textures and makes them look a little more high fidelity and crispy! That update was brought to 1.6 later too. You may have experienced some custom maps on 1.6 that look really crisp and that's all thanks to what Condition Zero brought to gold Source CS! Pretty neat.
Is he sad that the game is filled with only virus servers, bots and non english speaking people from 3rd world countries? 7000 hours in that old ass mistake of a game... Jesus, have him try CSGO or something damn
Growing up, me and my siblings only had Condition Zero (on 1 PC). I've always wondered why there are two versions of some maps. It wouldn't be until a decade later when I found out about what 1.6 and Condition Zero are.
Condition Zero's updated classic maps were mostly reused from Counter-Strike Xbox with some extra additions. In addtion, Counter-Strike Xbox was an offshoot development of Condition Zero which was released in 2003, a year before Condition Zero and CS Source.
Some maps are even more detailed and have pseudo-HDR. These can be played on PC 1.6/CZ after extracting bsps and converting textures. Unfortunately, their lighting is dim.
I love when you make cz content! for some reason, unlike most people who grew up with 1.6, I would mostly play cz during my childhood and i have such great memories ❤
I loved playing CZ in my childhood, this version of CS where something else You could climb up an invisible wall on D2 B site near to the "car" position (3:03 left diagnoal wall); also can climb on "drapes" on B site I loved Inferno's night version doe
u can call that unofficially yes.... i watched some utube reviews about it, that CS 1.7 was supposed to be a combination of 1.6 and CZ that u can fuse the two games....but it never got a release....
Its interesting to see how many changes were made that haven't had or have barely had any changes since, its hard to say CZ hasn't had a positive impact on counterstrike when you start noticing how much closer some parts are to today than they are to 1.6. underappreciated game and interesting video
originally when Gearbox was developing it, 1.6 was going to get its own update to introduce some new gameplay features like Molotovs or an overhauled Tactical Shield they had for CZ but the game and its maps, MP player models and campaign would stay as a standalone purchase ESCalation made a good video on the subject
Great video! The CZ textures and models should have been used in 1.6. Bisides, the fog in Inferno and Italy can be disabled in the advanced multiplayer options.
I remember long ago playing a cz map with a gathering storm atmosphere or something like that, with thunder sounds too. I thought it would be Militia, but doesn't look like from the footage here. What map would that be?
@@seetavishwakarma9287 yep. I downloaded cz here and there are at least three maps with such atmosphere. Aztec and two others. What amazes me is that I was quite sure in my memory that the Militia map also featured a storm gathering atmosphere with thunder and stuff.
@@seetavishwakarma9287 yeah. I used to like that map a lot back in the day. In my imagination it was even better because it held the same desert looks, but with a large photograph piece of a huge storm cloud arriving as the background. Here where I live we have dry season, when we get the rainy period with all the storms is quite nice.
I will say that despite Counter-Strike Xbox edition having Counter-Strike as the title (Not "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" that's a port of CS:GO on Xbox 360) it is actually based on Counter-Strike Condition Zero not Counter-Strike and has the layout of these maps updated to compensate for the use of controllers but there is also exclusive content apparently at the time. Sadly since Xbox live is dead on the OG Xbox, you have to use Insignia to play it online.
@@KaTiToYs_81 Offline yes, Online you have to use unofficial means (using Insignia to replace Xbox live) to do that because Xbox live is no longer on the OG Xbox. But I don't know if there is a solution for Xbox live if you don't have an OG Xbox.
Cs_militia has the most revamped pathways which is even used in css. Cs 1.6 version is really suck for bots De_cbble should have the true cz version but its unfinished so it uses cs 1.6 version with minor changes
8:31 at 1st i thought if this was the real official de_cbble_cz map.... coz i saw another one that was completely remade and have some new detailed textures that u can say its a CZ map....
You should check the classic map remakes in counter strike online 2, they are pretty interesting. Also you didn't notice the cz ver of airstrip removes a whole route from the back of CT spawn to the tunnel, which I really didn't like they did... btw very interesting thing about cz ver of cbble, there is a .wad file in the game dir with new textures for it, but its not using them, its using the cs 1.6 wad file instead... if you replace it with the new one, it looks pretty interesting with the new textures, but some walls have missing textures, seems like the new wad file is incomplete
yeah i dont know why they removed that area in airstrip that i really like in CS 1.6..... about the cbble map, i saw another CZ cbble map that was completely remade with new detailed textures, that should be the one we can considered as true new CZ d _cbble map....
Condition Zero has its own vibe with the revamped maps. They make the tour of duty missions more enjoyable. Although, there are community made CZ versions for the maps that didn't get them like Siege, Assault and others. They are worth playing.
