I really love your channel Breeny. My friend recommended your channel to me. I love how you don't shy away from the truth !! I limit how Twitter influences me because it can be REALLY toxic sometimes and when I get overwhelmed, I come to watch your RU-vid videos. They give me some peace and hope, ngl. It's really hard to be honest about truth in the world today and I'm happy that you don't shy away from it. Sending love from Nigeria 🇳🇬 ❤️!!

These new age female rappers are trying to replicate male rappers by singing about being promiscuous and carefree, not wanting love etc. but in reality everyone needs real and genuine love and support in life. It’s not trendy to not want love and security.

“trying to replicate male rappers” is a little too far. Women have been rapping about the same thing men have since rap’s birth. Men didn’t invent promiscuity with women following along like a lost puppy. Don’t give them credit like that. Otherwise I agree with everyone needing love.

The rap game in general glamorizes toxic relationships. They also grow their careers by talking about how much better/richer/more icey they are than everyone. It’s messing up the way we view ourselves whether it’s purely subconscious or your conscious of that.

It's a manner of the nouveau riche mindset. One saying goes "Wealth is quiet, rich is loud, while poor is flashy." They've been elevated to the rich and are loud showing they are doing things that usually comes with great repercussions for the poor with fewer consequences, while giving a middle finger to those they perceive as rich whom they think they are on equal grounds with. The "poor" feels they can do the same as they view them as a success story or relatable for living that toxic life while more progressive minds twist it to say it's empowering of the black female sexuality that was looked down on as wonton promiscuity. The wealthy look at it and laugh as they either ignore it or profit off of it.

@@stephaniem.2909 The difference is Beyoncé made him suffer before she took him back. She took herself and Blue Ivy to Paris without Jay-Z knowing and made him come grovel to her there before she took him back. She also wrote a whole album dissing him for cheating on her which caused him widespread humiliation to the point where he had to make a whole rap album called "4" to apologize to Beyoncé again.
@unknown0290
@unknown0290 3 года назад
@@cutienerdgirl That's ridiculous. Jay Z "suffered" for what? two weeks. The only one who is really suffering the most is Beyoncé. Beyoncé is the one who will remember the deep pain that this cheating man inflicted on her, *every* *single* *day* for the rest of her life, everytime she will look or think of him. But also she will bear the global humiliation of being disrespected this harsh in front of the world, but also her children. Jay Z doesn't have to worry about any of that. He is not the one bearing all the detrimental consequences of his evil. It's disgusting really. Taking a cheater back have no affect on them. By staying you're enabeling their actions, doesn't matter if you make this "hard to get you back". They get desensitize once you forgive them. The end result is the same, they still won't respect you because you have low self-esteem for taking them back. The only thing that matters for a cheater is to still have access to you, doesn't matter weather it's "difficult" or easy, so that they can keep cheating/ direspecting on you without worrying about you leaving them.

I do think (American POV) that black culture has taken “entertainment” way too far. We have such a problem identifying the role it “should” play in our lives. this why i had to delete twitter off my phone . it’s too many people given so many off based opinions because no one wants to be held accountable for doing things wrong . like if we normalize everything how are we supposed to distinguish right and wrong ? i have definitely limited my social media use since this pandemic happened because it became so clear to me the negative effects that it had on my thinking . i also barely listen to mainstream music because when you really listen to the lyrics it’s sad asf . it’s about cheating, lying, not being able to trust people, manipulating people, staying in situations that are breaking you just because the sex is good and i cannot have that on my subconscious. and i see how everyone is starting to think toxicity is so cute . like what ??? it’s cute that he cheats ??? and that yall argue ?? and block each other every other day??? As a teenager, I glad I know God because he has taught me what is true love and not the love that society teaches you about which is to accept someone back into your life even when they've hurt you. Whether it's a Signiant other, parent, sibling, friend etc. Not saying not to forgive them because forgiveness is for you not for them but I'm saying you didn't learn from the first time they hurt you and while God is showing you sings to leave, you stay. A lot of gen-z based their love off of social media relationships and lustful music. Most people doesn't know the difference between lust/passionate lust or love so they mistake it and end up in situations they didn't want to be in. Be very well aware. These types of things only God can open your spiritual eyes to see. And another thing is accountability. Some people don't know how to accept being held accountable and they take it as hate while others bash them instead of helping them see their mistakes. God bless you Breeny and everyone else. 💜

Your videos speak to meeeee!!!!! I'm 30 and been married 6 years. People think I "settled" with my husband, because he's a handsome simple non flashy guy (I'm pretty outgoing and vibrant) but I KNOW I bossed up. I left my toxic ex who appeared to have it all: looks, status, money. But he was a cheating dog, controlling and insecure behind the scenes. I traded in material things and appearances for peace. Now Me and my husband work hard, save and live comfortably. I feel you on the trauma bonding!! I tolerated those things for my ex because in my mind I was only worth the material things I had and how other saw me. I let go of that negative mindset and have never been happier!

I feel like when you find your worth in Christ, which will never change, you will NEVER allow any toxic relationship because God will most def block them from you and protect you. Before I believed in Christ I listened to these girls and actually wanted a toxic relationship, but when I read about Christ and what he says, I learned that toxic relationships were wrong. Unfortunately the black community has been fed this idea of spending money on frivolous things instead of getting an education and saving money and working for their future. What bothers me most is how many that are in power to help make change don't. They would rather make money than up lift their community. Jayz for example, he has power, he signs young artists like Meg the Stallion and instead of pushing her education they just push her sexuality. Which is why I tend to stop supporting artists once they are signed and go mainstream.

Honestly, not only am I in love with your looks, but I'm also in love with your intellect. The amount of Psychological diction I noticed from you (due to my current taking of a Psych course) is truly so cool to me. You wear make up but don't oversexualize, you preach things that make you a good role model, and you are a person I actually find to be TRULY consistent. And since I have a variant scale of OCD, it's very pleasing to see. Thank you for this important video and as I watch your Channel more, ik my respect for you will only grow. You're amazing and I'm so glad I found you with this video😊❤.

Breeny you are so spot on with this! Thank you for speaking out about this and being a voice of truth when deception is so prevalent 💕 I have been having this conversation so often recently because it’s really troubling for me to imagine what young girls are growing up around and being told is “admirable” or “successful”. So many people are deceived right now! I even had one person imply that I was racist because I said I didn’t think Cardi B and Meg the Stallion were good influences and leading young women in a positive or healthy direction. Thank you for taking a stand for truth, I love your channel!

I am particularly concerned about young Africans. It makes me sad when I see young Africans neglecting the good values of their own culture and following a popular culture with no values. How can we develop ourselves when we reject what we know best to follow what we've learnt from a couple of videos and social media? 🤷🏾‍♀️

when we as African women start losing our values and natural beauties to fit into the perception of the trendy female that will become the downfall of originality, everyone is created unique and beautiful in their own spirit, soul, and body and that's something we as individual should start encouraging and passing on to the next generation.

Yes they are promoting toxic relationships and behaviours and this is the reason I stopped listening to them. « Just listening » can influence the way you see things, speak, behave, and I realised I didn’t want this for me. Being a young woman, I tought at a moment that this was being cool bc of social media, but now I realise I want something else for myself and that this is not the way to go. I chose to listen, watch and read about things that help me grow in a good way.

I feel like you made really good points but I do feel like the jab in the beginning about Uzi carrying purses and stuff was unnecessary, that doesn’t indicate someone’s character or morals. Aside from that you’re completely right, I’m 17 and find myself questioning how much I am influenced by the music I listen to and if they actually live the life they rap about.

It’s medicine to my ears to hear this knowledge. It’s hard being a young woman who has a perspective like this but surrounded by other woman with the complete opposite. I am 25 and the peer pressure to be like the “in-crowd” is so real.... just the other day I was judged on how much of a woman I was bc I haven’t done a specific sexual act. I was lost at this thought pattern and honestly Breeny... I still am. What females think it takes to be a woman is shocking to me now-a-days. I’m young but I atleast want to keep my dignity. Yes I will admit to doing things to fit in but your platform helps me to see that I’m not crazy for my views and what I won’t tolerate. That I can be beautiful on the outside and have morals and values. It’s way more than a bag and bed that makes a woman and hopefully more girls will realize that so they can eventually become women. #rolemodelB

@creativegeenyus1819

@@sasha44486 Jus out of curiosity how old are you? And two, the mentality of saving your love marriage filled with pros and cons. Yes consider marriage but don’t wait to fall for someone just to have marriage on your mind. Everything from what I see in my POV with romance should flow naturally. Meaning you should take your time in getting to know who you are dealing no different than an ally. This isn’t a womanly standard this is a standard for both genders but we as humans seem to love complicating the mess out of it. Yea you can wait be sexually active til marriage but guess what, just like regular boyfriend/girlfriend relationships, marriages fall apart especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. If you have stop but you haven’t do not bother looking up to the so called relationships the media is constantly stuffing your face with. They promote that toxic BS and it’s always a for entertainment. A real couple would document their love in front of the public, just attracts the wrong attention. It’s nobody’s business what you and S/O do. Even the little things but you have ppl that love to kiss and tell a lot and it’s becoming annoying. Now because I said it was annoying someone will be eager to say I said that cause I’m single when that has nothing to do with anything. Society today is more separated than ever. We want to be together but we are approaching the closeness the wrong way. Majority of everyone has trust issues it’s a lot going on. Lots of infidelity to domestic abuse in romantic relationships to just using one another is destroying love especially black love and I mean black love as in romance to just family and friend love.
