Thank you for this video Judy. I know you’re right about these poisons and the over vaccinating of our pets. My dog went blind 3months ago after giving him the worming tablet Nextguard. When you think about it its obvious these poisons are likely to be harmful to our pets. I’m so annoyed with myself now for being so naive and giving it to him. Never again would I give any of these poisons to my pets.
Hi Dr. Morgan, like you I don't like using chemicals to protect my dogs from ticks and fleas, but I am currently fighting a flea infestation. We have two dogs and unfortunately these parasites pass from each other without the possibility of solving the problem with natural products such as neem oil and therefore we need something chemical that eliminates fleas and not only that removes them. I have seen some of your videos where you talk about the adverse reactions that some animals could have against these pesticides and I fully agree with you, but I ask you in this particular case and to use only for a short time, which product could you warn me about. We live in Italy and therefore I don't know if the products are the same ones sold in America, but I think so. Best regards Nicola
We live in FL so fleas year round in grass and everywhere else. We have been using Soresto collars for our 2 dogs. They work for a good few months, not the 8 months that it says. Our Vet keeps pushing us to use an oral medication . How safe our these compared to a collar? Thanks for your video. Other people talk about benefits and ignore side effects.
I was born in a 3rd world country. We don't vaccinate except for rabies and only if govt offer for free. Our dogs eat food leftover like rice and fish no bones, rice and debunked chicken. Our dogs don't ever mix w other dogs. Just run around in yard. We get fleas but very little but my sister just bathe the dogs more and clean up all the time. Our dogs live up to 16 yrs or until they die of old age.
Dr. JUDY. If there is a flea product for dogs that would be helpful in controlling fleas. We moved to FL 3 months ago and the fleas have arrived. Being from PA I never had a problem. Looking for a product with a minimum amount of chemicals in it that would work in keeping them free of fleas. I do my due diligence with vacuuming the home and the furniture laundry everything I need to do. Having moved to FL It's quite obvious I have to do something to eliminate the flea problem. Thank you doctor Morgan for this video. It was very informative. I have a question but it's at the end of all of this. :) I have 2 cats a 1 dog. All of them are vaccinated accordingly and are spayed/neutered. I try not to use the monthly heartworm medications on my dog but my husband and moved into an apartment home about 2 years ago from our house and now we are around so many other dogs. My dog has had hookworm twice now and he has never had this before. He is a black lab and 12 1/2 years old. I don't have a choice but to use Heart Gard or Interceptor for him because of this. My two cats are specifically indoor cats and I don't usually use any flea/tick meds on them. Within the last couple of days though I've noticed my cats itching more than normal. My first thought was fleas. I was right. I didn't know what to use all that I knew was that I wanted to get rid of them A.S.A.P. I vacuum all of the time anyway because of the pets but I had to do the de-fleaing. Vacuuming, washing the bedding, etc. I was getting bit too. So I went out and looked over all of the meds for fleas on cats. I finally decided to purchase Frontline Plus for cats. (for use ONLY on Cats & Kittens 8 weeks and older and weighing over 1.5 lbs.) It sounded like this was what I needed. My neighbor works for a vets office and she applied it for me. My one cat weighs around 8-9 lbs. we gave her the full dose. My other adult cat on weighs about 5-6 lbs. we gave her half of dose. I am now scared that something might happen to them. I've only used this once on them. Like I said I don't usually have a problem with fleas. Can the use of this one time have any permanent affect on them? Thank you! Also, I'm big on the environment as well and a believer in leaving it alone! But we continue to fertilize, debug, etc. which of course does end up in our water system and everywhere else. Hello Dr. Judy I have a kitten she 5 months old and she doesn’t want to eat or drink water. I have for three months now. She was playing and eating and drinking water, but today she feeling under weather? Please respond… the vet is to expensive I Don’t have the money. Is there anything I can make at home for the kitten.
Totally agree - have always hated all the chemicals we dose our pets with by "taking care of them" ( Just try adopting a pet from a shelter - you need vet referrals to prove you do all that) HOWEVER, you still don't tell us WHAT TO DO ABOUT FLEAS?? I've tried ALL the natural stuff, yet life becomes hell, does anything safe work???
Has anyone used NextGard for fleas on dogs? I need to know if it is safe because I am having a lot of trouble with flea infestation in him. He is a chihuahua mix.
Comfortis has just killed my Bichon in 2 months after giving him his dose. He died from a seizure this morning! My breeder told me to give the boys garlic pills and I forgot. My last Bichon Dodger has never had a seizure in his life and he has now had 3 and the one yesterday was so awful it was heartbreaking. I wish there was a way to detox my dog I will have to investigate so I do not lose my last boy who will be 17 in 3 weeks!
You can try several natural ways to detox your dog. I have done castor oil packs on my dog, which helped his lymphatic system move out toxins faster. Also, I have been supplementing my GSD with milk thistle and also giving him turmeric and black pepper, coconut oil, and krill oil or flax seed oil for omega fatty acids. I am really hoping that the milk thistle will detox his liver from any flea meds I tried with him. He has had tremors ever since trying the meds. I wish your pup(s) the best outcome. loved your video Dr Morgan. I live in California and have a 4 month old German Shepherd (maybe Shar-pei and or Staffie) mix. What should we do then for fleas and heartworm? I'm not as worried about fleas as our property is surrounded my eucalyptus trees, but I am worried about the mosquitos and heart worm. What should I use? much thanks for all of your wonderful videos! Hi Dr Morgan my dog has a dustmite in his nose. What holistic approach do you recommend? I suspected aspergilosis, but an endoscopy was negativ, a ct scan was also neg for a tumor thanks god. My vet recommendet deworming of all my dogs once a week for 4 or 5 weeks which i did. Mite is still there. I bought a anti flea and tick stuff for their shoulderblades, treated all dogs. Mite is still there. Vet recommended several of those treatments. What can you recommend? I was my bedding once a week and vacuum tilefloors every day. I am pulling my hair out. My vet told me since I live in California it was flea and tick season all year round so he prescribed me bravecto to administer every three months. I’ve only administered it to her twice in her lifetime before I started doing research on the effects these pesticides can have on dogs. I no longer administer it to her every three months and instead started to experiment with natural flea and tick preventatives. Luckily I live in an apartment and hardly have any exposure to ticks. My dog rarely has flea problems so I don’t see the need to be administering bravecto to her every three months. The home made natural flea and tick preventative I made has worked just fine on her.
I've always used ivermectin and my baby is 8 1/2 yrs old what can I switch to, to prevent heartworms? he's in the river and brush every day for 1 to 3 hours? He's never had any problems with fleas, ticks or worms?
Please do not use ivermectin on your pet as it causes sudden irreversible blindness as i found out 3 months ago after using Nextgaurd on my little boy. It’s been heartbreaking to see this happen to him. They are all bad for them so please have a think about what you give them.

Thank God for this video. The only time you here this type of education: it comes from a Holistic Veterinarian. None the less, this is educational in the sense that it is not only informative, but proper knowledge. Not just typical American veterinary brain washing information. My self, I only use revolution 3 months out of the year if need be. Even though freas can be walked in, l reat my yard with a natural bug killer that you have to apply more often than the typical harsh treatments. I've have a few vets look down on me for not using flea treatments all year long. They shut up when I ask, so you want to put poison in your system all the time, or all year long, one year after another.
Hi doctor!when I’ve bought my 7weeks old 9.5lb doberman puppy, he had fleas & ticks i took him to a vet and doctor used a revolution liquid 15mg on puppy’s skin and Drontal plus 22.7mg for devorming. The breeder gave me a vaccine for paravovirus canine distemper adenovirus type 2 parainfluenza vaccine all in 1 vaccine. do you think the vaccines wereq necessary or not? What vaccine should i use later on for the puppy?

Phyllis Mueller Living in Southern Texas, I might be afraid not to use a heartworm preventative. My preference would be Interceptor because you can get a dose for dogs 2 to 10 pounds, instead of the 0 to 25 pounds of most heartworm preventatives.
I was lucky to have had the sweetest Siamese on the planet and even though I let him free roam (NEVER EVER AGAIN), he seemed to have never caught or brought back any fleas, despite having cat buddies too. But I often washed him with a simple 50/50 water/kitchen vinegar that _supposedly_ helped to repel or kill fleas, according to the Internets. If it didn't, at least he was clean from it, he never complained being sprayed all over and rubbed with a towel. It's very very cheap, ecological and animal-friendly. It's something to consider instead of commercial harmful and expensive flea products.
