This song brought about an amazing conversation between myself and my husband of 16 years. I played it for him and asked him if he felt this way and he said, "Every single day." I was floored. Completely blown away. I had no idea men felt like this. So, I stepped up my game. When he comes home from work and spends a few more minutes than usual sitting outside in the truck, I'll take him a cold drink, and say something like "Come in when you're ready. Dinner will still be warm, so take your time." I don't ask questions; I just give him a little time to decompress. This song gave me a whole new perspective about him and what he goes through.

She only cares about herself and the plight of women. He barely looked at her because he did not want to sway her emotions to gauge them. Which were; a blank stare, with an awkward of beat bob. He asks: "what are your thought first, you can still speak on what he said from your perspective. do you agree he is right?" Her: "He was vulnerable and had a good message". Of COURSE she does none of this and makes him feel none of this.

She is who the song is written for/to. Men cannot share what they feel without being looked down on as weak or 'feminine'. The mindset that they NEED to share but only SO much is garbage. It is not 'feminine' to be broken and hurt... and whenever a man needs to express it they are almost immediately targeted by the women in their life. To act like this is NOT reality is sad really... and is why this song exists and is hitting home with so many men. It is SPOT ON.

This shows yes). Nothing. He asks: "what are your thought first, you can still speak on what he said from your perspective. do you agree he is right?" Her: "He was vulnerable and had a good message". Of COURSE she does none of this and makes him feel none of this. Not once did she ask about HIS emotions or how he felt or if he ever felt this way or express anything to him. Emotionless until it fits her needs then she will put on a nice smile and "act" cute.

Men have not gotten weak, some are just helping put out how a man feels, men are still human who do have feelings and shit, be we can tolerate being worn down in life to give someone else a better one. I only have daughters, but if I ever had a son, I will make sure if no one else will be there, I always will if he ever needed to just let out cries, in privacy with someone who knows what he's feeling

I can see what you are saying and I have to say I d o not agree with some of it. 75% of suicides are men because we cannot tell the lady in our life our feeling without being labeled as weak. Which in my thoughts is toxic femininity. I am saying we should be a blabbering mess and play the victim card but we should also not be considered weak by our women if we confide in them. What she said about handling our feeling like women really struck a chord with me. Personally, the message to me is that the women do not give the respect men deserve for breaking our backs and being the strong one all the time. A little respect and acknowledgment would go a long way. You know, tell him I see what you do foe me and our family and I appreciate it and show him you do. That is all we need. We want to provide but not feeling appreciated for what you do is the problem. Oh , you are a man that is what you are supposed to do. Yes, in a sense but are the women reciprocating in a way that the man does not feel like he is doing for no reason. The feminist movement took women from that role in the relationship and put it as you provide the way I want or I will find someone else. If a man shows his woman appreciation for all she does it should be reciprocated and I believe in many relationships these days it is not.

I agree so much with the perspectives you both gave about finding a fine line in the middle of us guys working on letting our feelings out to prevent strong mental health issues, but also not feminizing men where we become too soft and too emotionally driven to where we can’t perform certain tasks as as a man in society that protects, provides and serves, because of our biological strengths to complete said tasks. God created men and women different for a reason, but for some reason the western societies are adapting these crazy ideologies that are throwing us off in a way that’s very unhealthy.

I don’t think men are soft, men are leaders. A good man does it with out complaining but it doesn’t mean it weighs less. Some men have hold it in due to the environment. Men also have to prepare themselves to raise a son that will do the same but better as society beats them down.

Notice how the female instantly turns men’s feelings into a negative. Then we wonder why this song is needed. Men express emotions and women trash it. Women have a way larger support network than the vast majority of men. Women can lean on men but when men lean on women they get judged for it. It’s not about soft men. It’s about men waking up and realizing they can be strong and vulnerable. Bottom line was her reaction was everything wrong with modern women and the fact they make everything about them. Lost respect for her a little. She wasn’t listening and wanted to judge it as weakness. Message missed her and wouldn’t depend on her in a pinch. She’d be the one who dumps you for expressing an emotion.

Tone deaf. If you can’t shed emotions, you aren’t tough, you’re a liability in waiting. This isn’t sucking it all in, at all times, and there is no one-size-fits-all. Some dudes cry when their dog dies, when they fail a test, or don’t lift what they want one day. If they do it, then they are coping. I worry more about the solider who won’t show emotion, because they almost always won’t make good decisions.

Too soft is an understatement. I'm 60 and 5 guys between 25-35 years old started harassing me on a deserted backstreet a couple months ago. I gave a right cross to the largest thinking I'd take out a couple of them before being beaten and the rest ran away. The one I hit sat in the street crying. If we get involved in a real war, one like 80 years ago we are toast.
