A look at the new statistical report released by the Mormon church today, and a demonstration of why these numbers may be deceptive. Death Rate Source: www.cia.gov/the-world-factboo... Pew Research Source: www.pewresearch.org/religion/...
They made it require a notary and attorney of course few people bother to go out of their way to that extent for a corrupt corporation they don't care about anymore.
The LDS Church is losing members by the droves. In places like Scotland and England the Church is losing so many members that there are actually very few active members in either country.
My favorite lie was when they disolved 3 wards and made 2 wards, but did not use the name of the previous wards and anounced an increase of 2 new wards in the ares.
@@Glass-Looker I can't imagine it will ever be made public. Census data in plenty of countries show us that the difference between members and people who IDENTIFY as members is absolutely massive. No way will they ever admit that.
@@Glass-Looker But attendance in sacrament meeting can't be the only indicator. Some members can't attend every Sunday and they are active. I think it's a mix of multiple indicators that says about the actual church situation.
I’m sure there r lots of folks like me that as grandparents we are in other wards visiting them, absent due to health reasons, etc but still faithful and active as we can be. Trying to find fault where there is none…I believe Jesus x,early spoke to this issue.
@@dansherwood9851 if they are in other wards during vacation they will be counted in sacrament meeting, which makes this figure prob the most important
Probably most people who no longer believe would just stop attending (unless they have family members they need to keep happy). Stopping attending without officially resigning doesn't require a person to DO anything, so it's probably the most taken route.
Yes I believe it’s misleading lots of people just stop going but never officially leave and for an organization that keeps it’s financial information so diligently I find it hard to believe that they would have not properly accounted for actual attendance and tithing payers.
I personally know a lot of inactive members, and I’m in the heart of Mormon country. Utah was about 80% Mormon not too many years ago, now I believe it sits around 60%. This has to do with the huge influx of people moving to Utah, but also droves of people leaving the church. I always tells people to submit a request to be removed for their records. I believe if everyone did this, their numbers would be dramatically lower. But, I know personally that the church shares this request with local leadership and within a few weeks everyone knows. I had all kinds of people approach me after the fact, so I believe this is a bully tactic to shame people into staying regardless of their active status. They deny this, but I’ve personally experienced it a couple of years ago. How else would my neighbors know.
In all honesty it is hard to know who is temporarily inactive and who has quit. And that is not a Mormon thing. Often people who have not been in a decade consider themselves in good standing with the church. Average attendance or totally yearly attendance are better measures.
temple attendence would also be an indicator. we dont built temples to sit empty. they are built by need and use for the area being served, and we are building new temples every year. nice try haters!
No. Before Nelson, temples were indeed constructed using key numbers such as temple worthy members in the area, etc. But Nelson obviously abandoned this strategy and announced temples with no immediate need, and with no prioritization.
@@Frogman1943 Hamburg, Germany. Membership in Germany stagnates at around 39-40k for the last ten years. The two existing temples are quite central and not fully booked, alternatively, members in Hamburg could fly to Copenhagen easily.
In Germany 20% of people identify as Catholic only 4.3% go to Church and 24% identify as Protestant only 3% go to Church. All religions record the No. of members on record.
@@stephenkenworthy1881 No, you don't understand the system. When a person worldwide gets talked into joining the LDS Church, they often stop attending without formerly resigning. In this case, the person gets counted as a member, but actually doesn't pay any fee. In Germany, when you are member of the Catholic or Lutheran Church, you pay church taxes. The tax depends on your income tax and is roughly 4% of your income (you are taxed on your tax). Therefore, people who are not interested in religion will formerly resign from these religions in order to save taxes. Moreover , since the state collects the taxes, they will track you when you move. If you move without updating the state about it, it's illegal. so the concept of lost membership records doesn't exist. The only thing which does exist is members who rarely attend, e.g. twice a year. But people who are agnostic/atheist will leave to save taxes.
You sound pretty stupid.. they're actually probably negative growth since covid if they were honest and there's dozens of other churches growing faster by both raw numbers or by percentages.
God gave us all the gift of discernment. And the Savior invited us to judge the fruits of all men. In addition to this, He taught us to use "righteous judgment."
D&C 64: 38 For it shall come to pass that the inhabitants of Zion shall judge all things pertaining to Zion. 39 And liars and hypocrites shall be proved by them, and they who are not apostles and prophets shall be known.
It's funny to watch the cultists squirm..obviously they're pretty defensive about their corporation gambling tithing money on the stock market and sheltering child abusers..
