@goblinsalvagerites well not to criticize, but you spent a bit too much time on the various paths to obtaining an AC. You could have cut down that section considerably and not lost much. I think the far more valuable information to share is the various actions an animal companion can perform. Too many people think an AC is limited to strike, stride, support, and advanced maneuver. ACs can perform nearly every action a regular pc can perform. They can use skill actions like athletics to swim, climb, and grapple. They can tumble through. Follow tracks. Really, the only thing they are barred from is anything involving a reaction or feat locked. And they can do pretty much all of this while mounted. Mounted rules prevent use of special movement modes while mounted unless the mount has the mount trait. But, skill actions to swim and climb are explicitly not special movement modes by RAW. So your AC mount can make a climb check to get you up that wall.

Yep! The amount trait is pretty powerful TBH, adding it to any animal companion would definitely unbalance it. That sounds like an awesome combo!

From a mind movie perspective, Absolutely! From a game a game balance perspective it's just because it causes an "attack level" amount of damage or negative effect.

@@goblinsalvagerites I learned this mid combat and it was the first time I brought my animal companion into combat, not knowing it had to take a commanded action to use the support, I thought it was just for the attack actions so I was confused and frustrated but I can see how it balances out

This is really good reasoning, and it makes sense given the power scaling of druids.
