It's been 5 years, where's my portal gun? Jokes aside, the idea of a real portal gun has always been in my mind ever since I saw Portal for the first time. For all we know, a portal gun could actually exist and we don't know about it, but let's be honest, the chances of that are 1 in infinite. Really awesome video :D

I would do some more research on what the electron diffusion regions (or 'portals' as NASA's article and video describes them) actually are... it isn't a literal link between two points in space, with the exception for some unique instances in quantum mechanics, literal physical links in space-time (which implies two different points in space at the same time), are practically impossible according to General Relativity.

I'm not one to talk about conspiracy theories... but I am aware of some 'attempts' to disprove relativity but so far almost everything General Relativity has predicted has been confirmed while matching our observed behavior of the universe, also its not quite simply 'disproving' more so than introducing a theory that can make more predictions and more accurately match out measured data. Also, remember there are also people who are convinced the Earth is flat and are working to disprove all evidence that the Earth is round

Actually the Portal Guns are not Einstein Rosen Bridge Guns, they are Quantum Tunneling Devices according to what the blueprints states, meaning that they use Quantum Tunneling for Teleportation, and the Miniature Black Hole is more likely the Energy Source rather than the Ammunition Source, since the rotating energy you would get from it creates more energy than nuclear energy

Its not a wormhole. The problem with wormholes is that a wormhole opens in space itself and stays in the position where its created. It would just zip away and phase through everything before you could even get close to it because the Earth is spinning. Another Portal Science theory I saw involved other mechanics like quantum entanglement, and it made a bit more sense when you think about it. I forget what that channel name was called, but it involves a series called "The Science!"

Actually, portals are relative to space time, not earth. If earth travels at about 1040 mph, the portal would seemingly wiz off in the distance, because space doesn't move. I believe they are two points in quantum entanglement, not actually worm holes.

Open up a physical but controlled black hole, and shoot a portal onto that. The black hole won't move in Space, but since it's controlled it with move with Earth. Shoot the portal onto that and BAM! It's still not moving in Space, but it's in a space that is moving relative to the Earth.

This is how I think a portal gun could be made... So the basic model of a portal gun could be used. In a chamber in a portal gun, is a miniature particle accelerator. This accelerator is set to a certain frequency, and would require 1000 wats of energy. When an electric current is sent through it, it compresses it and turns it into a type of matter. It builds up in matter then it compresses again. Then it is expanded and shot out of the portal gun. Then to link the other side it would just have to use the inverse.

I looked up the magnetic reconnection thing and the only sources which said that there were Einstean-Rosen bridges which I found are social media related news sites. From what I understand it simply creates a magnetic path allowing the Earth and Sun to exchange particles, and in actual scientific sources the only reference I could see to portals seems to be the second definition of the word which refers to any kind of doorway or passage. I could be wrong, but if I could see your source that would be nice.

with wormholes in the place of the portals, theres a problem, wormholes are constantly stationary, they would barely abide by gravity or any real physical effect to them, they are connected points in space time where they are constantly in the same point in space time where they appeared, but because of the earth moving so fast and the galaxy and universe itself moving we hardly ever get to observe these points because as soon as we are able to see on it flies by so fast its light traveling at light speed to reach our eyes can't even do that. Wormholes are actually really common to, they're constantly forming just so small that in order to see them you would also need to be able to see the individual atoms, heck right now your surrounded by thousands of microscopic worm holes, flying by so fast you cant even comprehend them or their effects on the world around you.

using wormholes for portal guns isn't possible simply because wormholes stay in position in relative position to space, not earth, if you add up the speed earth is moving around the sun, the speed the sun is moving in the gallaxy, and the speed our gallaxy is moving in space, as soon as you open a worm hole with a portal gun, it would fly off at over 2 million m/h thus making it disappar from sight almost instantly

This violates the conservation of energy and momentum. Portal guns are most probably impossible. Btw what you were talking about in the end has nothing to do with wormholes or portals.

Beside the Quantum Physics behind it-Space/Time and such, pretending someone[s] comes up with a working Portal Gun...how do you plan to power it? If it takes the type of energy of the Sun and the Earths Magnetosphere to open these 'Portals' between the two, it is unlikely anyone is going to have a wrist strong enough to carry the gun and powerpack needed for it. I would not want the average person to have any access to a PG, same with flying cars-you see how people drive nowadays? Ever hear of the Darwin Awards? I can see some Jackass opening a portal on his livingroom wall then opening one on Venus or some such, maybe an Asteroid or the Moon and ~swoop!~ Away goes the Earths atmosphere.

So that means... You only need some kind of two magnetic fields crossing eachother to even make a hole... That would be hole A. Hole B otherwise could be something different maybe. The source of the magnetism possibly? It would be a reason why the other warp hole to the sun couldn't be found. Because hole B is basically the unknown source from the magnetic field or in the sun itself... Not the atmosphere-- Okay, just don't listen. I am just making shit up. That'll be it
