Anytime you can create a situation where you get more football knowledge it’s most generally a good thing. When young players finally settled into position they’ll know what’s going on around them better because of it.

I think Jordan Morgan should be kept at tackle. Hard enough to be a rookie , and have to train at multiple positions .

He has a couple flaws that scare me at tackle. Hes been decleated a number of times by rushers who fake the outside speed rush only to do an inside bullrush. Hes good against speed rushers or against bull rushers, but guys who can do both really give him a hard time. Till he fixes that, guard might be the best spot for him. Cant have him giving blind side rushers free shots on Love.

Remember there is plenty of time to lock down on a position - this was the time to try all types of things to see if they noticed anything - let’s let the coaches coach

I think you need the versatility nowadays because of injuries you got to have everybody ready to fill in where they need to be

The Green Bay Packers threw just about everything at Jordan Morgan during the offseason workout program. The collegiate left tackle got reps at 4 different positions - left tackle, left guard, right guard, and right tackle in the latest example of the team’s on-going effort to cross-train the offensive line. The Packers know that Jordan Morgan has much to learn as a 1st-year player learning to play tackle and guard on both sides of the line but will continue pushing him on the mental side. It remains unclear where Jordan Morgan will fit best come training camp. Matt Lafluer said that the Green Bay Packers would have a better idea about the positioning of individual lineman once camp gets rolling and the team can start playing with the best 5 starting fits. Zach Tom, the expected starter at right tackle, has missed most of the offseason workout program with a torn pectoral muscle, opening the door for reps for both Jordan Morgan and veteran Andre Dillard. Jordan Morgan is also competing with Rasheed Walker at left tackle, and nothing is set in stone at right guard, where Sean Rhyan has been the primary option for the 1st-team offense. The Packers want offensive linemen to know multiple positions to provide built-in protection against injuries. Zach Tom, for instance, can play all 5 positions. The same can be said for veteran Elgton Jenkins. Jordan Morgan might have a lot to learn mentally as a 1st-year player, but he looks like another multi-position puzzle piece for Matt Lafluer, Adam Stenavich, and Luke Butkus along the offensive line. Now, Jordan Morgan and the rest of the Green Bay Packers will get a 5-week break before training camp. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

That’s good the coaches are doing multi positions moves for the offensive line, that will only make them better…. Focus on stopping the run Too…. And I promise the NFL Christian Watson is going to DESTROY DBs…. But to be honest, when u have multiple WR the run around, u don’t need a One…. Green Bay, keep doing what yaw doing…. Evening attacks get the ground game going, cuz we got the best Duo in football…. Jacob’s and Lloyd less Go💚💛💚💛

I think it’s wise for them to cross train at this point in the season especially given the youth and the looming cap space cut due to the nfl lawsuit over Sunday ticket. The future is unclear and doing more with less will have big value going forward.

I don’t think rookies should cross train for more than 2 positions.

This is absolutely a great question. I wondered the same thing. The real term is reps. If you move someone like the 1st round tackle to guard ,he gets less reps at tackle.i am for moving ppl around but at what %? ,I believe if you are drafted a tackle then 90%of your reps should be at tackle. Just my opinion.

I knew that he was going to be GREAT…. 3yrs behind AR, yaw think that man wasn’t taking notes? Keep doing yah thing, I love u Brodie…. Green Bay or nothing💯💯💯 Best QB JORDAN 10VE

This is a good discussion but the cross-training at safety seems to be scheme related and versatility is necessary for the back-up OL. Wooden is a DT that can fill in at DE in an emergency as he showed in a single practice with multiple players out. The one that stands out to me is Jordan Morgan and I think it shows that there is debate about where he fits best. The Packers would love for Morgan to fill Bakh's shoes and be the long term franchise LT but due in part to his length and also due in part to the players they already have in place they do have the freedom to feel out his best fit although I'm hoping once they do so that they narrow his focus to that specific role.

When you said that you thought they might use lvn doing the “preston smith stuff”, I thought you were gonna say something along the lines of using him to cover Justin Jefferson in the slot

So all the surprise non cross trained guys you mentioned last year are on defense. We changed the coordinator, it make all the sense in the world the philosophy is different.

That 4 positions sound good, but really good players generally stick at 1 position....the backups ususlly are the ones that need to show versatility

So I actually thought about this in the past.. I think that under Joe Barry system was so read and react that maybe it forced the Defensive unit to be very Vanilla.. Barry was very predictable also

Draft starters at their respective positions. I’d rather have a great tackle or guard than a good jack of all trades. Cross train your back-ups
@joeo4496

But what a players top position was in college isnt necessarily what their top position will be in the pros..............Zach Tom was a center and left tackle in college: imagine not cross-training him? They never would have found out he could be great on the right side
