Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and life has changed dramatically - including our son, Elijah, joining our family in December 2021. We also have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

Yes. My daughter with CF has since passed away but every breath she got for those 12 years I'm so grateful for even if a lot of them weren't easy. She was a gift in our lives.

The whole section about how your perspective on having children never really did change from 2015, The trajectory of Mary's illness did. Man, I had goose bumps and chills going up and down my arms and spine! A God Thing for sure! God was always there. He knew His plans for you!

“Every breathe is a gift” pretty much sums it up: Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s awesome to cut back but still posting videos and I think the way you’re doing it keeps the viewers wanting to watch. Everyone needs a mental break and Eli is the prime example how blessed you two continue to be. The emotional conversation about the journey of adoption and so on. I have been with you since your very first video. I remember the shopping cart!!! LOL. I can't believe it's been nearly 10 years! That is wild!!! You have NO idea how much your videos have blessed my life. Because of you guys, I became independent in my port care - after a medical provider didn't follow sterile protocol and I became septic. That has been life changing for me! I now have a Hickman, for life. I no longer have to depend on a nurse once a week which allows me so much more freedom and independence. So thank you!!! I feel even more connected to your family after donating to Elijah's adoption!!! You guys have been such a gift!!! Speaking of gifts- many times, over the last couple months I have thought, "I wonder if, Peter and Mary, realize the gift they have given, not only to us, but are giving to Elijah? Not just because of adopting him - but how many kids get to grow up with, nearly, 10 years of video footage of their parents lives and their lives??!!!!!! We only have a short time on earth - as you both well know. And what an amazing gift Elijah will always have in the form of these videos!!!! I am so glad you are settling into a routine that is best for YOU and your family!!!

By the way my favorite video although it was hard to choose cause there are many but I always watched with a heavy heart knowing you would make amazing parents. So obviously the joy I felt when you put out the video of saying you were adopting literally made me cry happy tears. My second fave is defo the update on trikafta making Mary so much better and her being able to do things with out the constant coughing was miraculous. I appreciate this video & cry almost every time you talk about Trikafta & the way the Lord has created your story to include adopting Elijah! Such a beautiful blessing! We idnt think we would be able to have kids. After 11 years of infertility I became pregnant naturally & God blessed us with a wonderful daughter. Maybe that's why I get emotional. I've been the one longing & when the Lord blesses you unexpectedly it's beautiful. Glad you are shifting in your posting schedule & area able to have more down time to spend with you family! Becca, I would would check out Claire Wineland....the charity she started at age 13, she founded a 501 (c) (3), "Claire's Place Foundation" they help support families who have children with CF..with many things including financial help! The Foundation just had a successful fundraiser. She did memorable TED talks, she also spoke at major companies...like Zappo's...and did it all with a oxygen concentrator. Claire was very beautiful soul. Remember, "Claire's Place Foundation" is a resource. Peace.
