Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. When Mary was coughing I was thinking "Wow....I haven't heard that in a while". At that exact time, Peter said "It's been a while, hasn't it?". I guess the improvement has been even more than I realized!

My husband handles my meds anymore because I can take them, and 5 minutes later, I have no recollection if I took them. This is old age setting in, and I wouldn't say I like it. You and Peter remind me of myself and my husband's marriage. We were 16 and 18 when we got married in 1966. Keep on loving!💞

I totally agree, those baby needs lists are SO subjective. For example, I NEVER used our change table, but my husband has an old back injury and couldn't NOT use it! We also used washcloths for wipes for a while because my first had such sensitive skin and bad eczema we needed just plain water whenever possible. I almost never wore my first because he hated being restrianed, I almost always wore my second because he hated being put down 😅 Totally different needs list evey time

I laughed because I literally have a picture from when my daughter was tiny and my husband was on the floor doing tummy time with her and just fell asleep! 😂 I immediately thought "its ok if Peter was on the floor too!"

My grandson is almost 9 months! He loves pulling up to standing! He is crawling all over! He loved standing before he figured it all out!

As long as the baby shoes are soft bottomed because they need to feel the ground or floor under their feet. I agree all baby products are subjective. It depends on your likes and needs. Elijah is such a beautiful little boy!

our PT said the same thing only soft bottoms if you must put something on their feet. the rest of the time they neeeeed to be free to feel the floor texture and temperatures, it has to do with neurological development too!! So intriguing to learn about

I just love the way Elijah connects with you when you "Super Smile" him, when he is in Mary's arms talking to the camera it's instant and a super happy moment for me!! Elijah picks up on your cue so quickly! So, so cute!!! A Beautiful Happy Family!! xo

I just started a few new medications, and previously I only had to take meds at night but I now need to take one in the morning and I often struggle to remember, but you taking yours reminded me to take mine, so thank you!

I was thinking the same things as everyone else, Peter included, when Mary was coughing. That's so hard to hear again but I know it's only temporary and I'm so glad for modern medicine. It's crazy she used to cough like that all the time!!!

I think “need” versus “nice to have” is an important distinction and a way to filter many things in life.

The soft boots and soft shoes are okay. They mean no hard bottom shoes with ties or velcro. It can deform the bones in his feet and cause hammer toes and restrict the growth.

O sweet Elijah I love your smile. I'm definitely a fan of cloth wipes. I work in child care and I have seen so many babies with horrible rashes because of those disposable whipes. God bless your family.

My guess is they choose moments when he's calm to film, and when he's crying or fussy they just put the camera down and focus on him.

I am a Gen X! We had cloth diapers and cloth wipes! Except, we called them washcloths! What was old school is now new school!

I love watching Elijah grow. His smiles and laughs are everything 💕 And I've said it before and ill probably say it again in a comment, but he is such a pretty baby. Mary, I'm sure you're over your cough by now (hopefully!) but it just reminds me how sick you were before Trikafta and how much that medicine has truly changed your life! I thank God daily for you're health. I know you still have CF issues and you're not technically "healthy" but it's amazing what God has done in your's and Peter's lives. I'm thankful for ongoing research that will hopefully help others with CF and pray that there will be a cure within your lifetime! Love y'all and pray for y'all everyday. 💜

That's really odd advice, normally shoes restrict the development of babies' and young children's feet and they're advised to go barefoot as long as they possibly can to make sure their feet develop normally.

Elijah is getting so big. I love his smiles. Getting him used to having shoes on his feet will make it easier when he starts walking and needs more supportive shoes.

I agree with you. What you use for your baby or don't use for your baby is up to you. For some parents cloth diapers work and for some parents they don't. My best advice is to do what works for you. I love Elijah's smile.

We do cloth nappies and wipes and we just take pre wet cloths out in a container that works for when we are out and sticky/dirty hands and face.

I have loved watching both of you...Peter and Mary for years, but dog gone it watching Elijah is just my favorite😂. I could watch Elijah TV all day. He's just precious. Thanks so much for sharing him with all of us. 🥰 By the way Mary, my brain does that "You don't know how to take pills do you?" thing too sometimes, and it's almost like you forget when to swallow to get them all down properly.💊🤣

Hi to the sweetest family ever, I’m an old mom with kids that are 45, 42 yrs old. The older one has 2 kids, a girl 20, and a boy almost 18, time flies! My younger son has 1 boy 4 yrs old and unfortunately divorced. He is shared by mom and dad and I can’t tell you how hard it is on this little guy. Dad is still able to work from home. He lives in CA and if he has meetings he’ll text us to see if we are busy and we, through FT play with him. He loves garbage trucks and on Monday he and his dad go running all over chasing garbage trucks.. He is my sunshine and we sing, “you are my Sunshine” I always used cloth diapers, disposable were just coming out. Have you thought of getting a walker, without the wheels so he can stand more? He is just so awesome your son. I have found myself smiling and making faces at him, like he can see me! I would not get any work done with him around. God Bless you all.

I like the wet wipes, but my babies didn't have pre-moistened paper wipes. I used wash cloths and a washing machine. 😁👋🧡

My brain does the same thing with pills!! And my son def wishes he ha d a wipes warmer - he's two and freaks out occasionally still!

Let me tell you...that a wipes warmer is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!! You try wiping a mess off a stroke patient ( my brother) with cold wipes and you'll get socked with the good hand... then cussed at 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂

Imagine someone dictating you into using cold showers, against your will :) same thing. We did not have cloth warmers, but took out the disposable wipes and warmed in our hands for a bit or the warm water bowl to wet the washcloth. Cold on your privates is not fun nor necessary.

@@tinydancer7426 yea, when I was little, it was cloth diapers and those rubber covers, I had rashes all the time from the trapprd moisture. When we could, my parents had me running around without diapers. When we had the runs, mom would put us into the shower stall and use the handheld shower head to clean us up. My three year younger sister "profited" from better covers already, which let air circulate better. And her last months she was tried out on disposable diapers, but they were leaking a lot.

I agree with the baby shoes not being needed. Do they use them to walk? No but it gets them used to having something on their feet so that when they have to have shoes on later (in daycares or public places) they are used to it and more likely to keep them on.

2:32 I hate when that happens! I have to take all my pills as a large handful, cuz if I split them up into smaller handfuls, I'd have to wait so long in between each cuz my body's like 'nope, swallowing is no longer an option in this moment' if I try to separate them out
