MaCenna has been a real inspiration for me this past year. Whenever I find myself saying "I don't think I could do that" I then think about how hard you work to learn something new no matter how big or small the project my be. MaCenna kicks ass.

I’m watching this video looking at you nailing a window sill that YOU built into place and then putting the window jambs that YOU built, and thinking about how one of the first videos I saw of yours was you redecorating your kitchen in LA. I never in a million years would have thought that I could build my own house but seeing all the new skills you learn and challenges you tackle with every new thing you do to this house gives me hope and inspires me to try making updates to my own home. So proud of you … as I told you often times, you’re just a little older than my daughter .. love you doting-like! So so infinitely proud of you my dear ! My US trip will include a cottage stay at Comfort Cottage some day! Shes not 110 years old but was built somewhere in the 1940s and we have been trying to get some history of the house as it is an odd one lol but i love it so much

Get yourself some butterfly bushes when your do your landscaping. My sister has 2 and there are always tons of butterfly’s around the bushes it is so pretty to watch. You guys are doing such a great job with the house. I love watching week to week.

Oh yes Buddleia bushes - Butterflies and bees looove them, and they smell nice too. Together with Lilac bushes which smell even better; would mean your garden would be full of butterflies and bees 🦋 🦋 🐝 🐝

I just discovered your channel last year, along my home decor channel binges. Loving this journey you’re on and I just have to say how impressed I am with everything you’re doing on this house! My dad is a carpenter so all of the tools and materials are just such a comfort to me. It’s so familiar. But you have done so much research and have taught yourself so much it just blows my mind! Recently my friend and neighbor moved. You remind me of her. I swear you could be her twin. I have so enjoyed watching you and Romeo rebuild your dream home. I find myself laughing so much and by the end I realize I have been smiling the entire time I have watched. I know this because my cheeks are frozen in the shape of a smile. You seem to make even the littlest of things like the jar, (at the thrifting day you went on) seem like the biggest best bargain! And nobody is a stranger to you. My husband and I are starting the process of buying our first home right now. It's likely to just be a condo, because we live in a VERY expensive area, but I'm still so excited to have a place I can make changes to without worrying about a landlord. Once you are in the house, you will come around the corner, for example - as you are walking to your bedroom at night to go to sleep - and the two of you will remember the day you hung the window jambs and it will become part of your story and the glue that holds you together....Nice work!

Is it really sad of me to admit I got emotional at this video? An excited emotional? Only cause it only feels like 3/4 months ago you bought it and done all this work I.e I mean it's been so quick feeling as I'm obviously aware its been a year since you both bought your house and the progress so far is astonishing!
