I was about to make 2 peanut butter sandwiches. Placed my 4 slices of bread on the kitchen counter. Wife asked if I would place my bread on a paper plate instead, to avoid the possibility of having any bread crumbs get onto the counter. My kitchen food preparations are often observed, scrutinized and corrected. I make my meals, she doesn't, ever, just critiques my actions. She sleeps with her dog, in her bedroom, with the TV on all night long. I have my own bedroom, we never have sex and I'm about to find her replacement.

Sorry to hear that. I am not married. But did witness similar things from my parent's marriage. My mom always had to criticize every little thing my dad did. I never felt free in our home. I was always walking on eggshells. I prefered to be in my bedroom or outside the house. You can never make a woman happy. She always has to be right. Admitting that you are wrong is one of the fundamental steps to repentance and self-improvement. Anyone who is unwilling or unable to look at themselves and admit that they can improve in certain areas, will never improve in those areas. Two months after we moved in, the wife announced she wasn't happy and was moving out. The wife advised me that I could keep our kids and the new house. @@racebannon96 Man I envy your situation, if only mine would do the same, same story….. except house isn’t modest, my income allows it though. Mine won’t leave, and definitely won’t leave her only supply that still believers her ( our daughter is too young to know any better ), instead she’s doubled down on the unacceptable behavior. I am assuming in an attempt to make me so miserable I leave her, then she can retain her victim status and narrative that I’m the bad person , the problem. Her family loves me as they should, I put up with a lot and they know it, I work hard so she can be a stay at home mom ( big mistake), I show them the same respect I show my family, I’m Christian and conservative. If she were to leave me she would catch hell from her family….. her one weakness, her mother’s judgment. So I pretty much have all the time I need to put together a game plan, get things in order before I make any moves. It’s just a matter of putting up with some wretched behavior here and there. Back to the start of this comment though: Man I envy you, that was the best you could have hoped for. I wish you good luck and a happy life

Sadly, thinking back to my Ex-Wife... she ticked of 9 out of 10 in this list. During counseling (both secular and church) I tried to allude to and/or bring up these issues... but they were summarily dismissed. And the focus was brought back to *my* "wrong" responses ... to *her* bad behaviors. I definitely felt that I was "set up" to lose. I feel that I have a great relationship with my 2 girls(16,18), and I do get to see them 1-2 times a week. And I SO desire to share with them what you have been sharing, both in this video and others, so that *they* learn to be good wives in the future. Learn what *not* to do. 😔 Hard to do without dissing their mother.

Shortly after the wife left us, I went to my church for "counseling." I briefly was able to advise the associate pastor on what was happening. He kept talking about Reconciliation with her. When I finally got the chance to talk, I told him that I do not want to reconcile with her. I advised the pastor that she was hateful and trying to destroy me. And that I no longer knew who she was. I left there more frustrated than before I got there. I got the divorce done as quickly as possible.

Not about a wife but a long term GF, the walking on eggshells and “switch flip” is too too real. It’s like never knowing if you going to step on a land mine. The ironic part was after beating me down and doing all this stuff she’d complain I wasn’t the guy I was when we first started dating. The literally can’t see or understand that their own behavior can and does totally change a guy. Luckily I grew up a bit and had to end that one. But so so many things make sense I just didn’t understand after listening to this podcast
@nerychristian
@nerychristian 28 дней назад
It's all gaslighting. The only ones who changed are the women. It has happened with every relationship I have ever been in. Women will usually start off being pleasant and easy going. They will let you take the lead. But after a few weeks, they slowly begin to find ways to control you. The first thing they always do is begin to look for flaws. They will begin to criticize certain things you do. They will judge you and make you feel bad about yourself because you are content with your current life situation. They will begin to make you question yourself and your lifestyle, the way you dress, your hobbies, how you spend your free time. Then they will begin to use guilt to manipulate you. They will say that you don't message them or call them enough. They will say that you don't take them out enough. Life is so much peaceful without a woman. The thing I have learned from women is: If you want to attract a woman, you have to become a liar. You have to try to become something you are not. You have to pretend to be charming and smooth and always confident. You have to pretend that you care about money and acquiring wealth. You have to pretend that you care about romance, or having long talks on the phone, or sharing personal stuff. Anytime I go out with a woman, I start to get annoyed because she will begin to ask lots of personal questions- as if to find flaws- and she will act as if she is superior to you.

My ex wife hit 8 of the 10, but she didn't get a worse husband from her poor behaviors. She still got a great husband and still she got to walk away and cheat and I get to suffer the consequences of her failures. Don't misunderstand, I definitely failed on a lot of things, but nearly all of it was ignorance because I trusted her words and ignored her actions because I needed to pick up the slack. I was supposed to pick up the slack because that is what a good husband does. Now there is two broken people walking out the relationship because of the decisions of one.

I appreciate you holding women to account in their contribution to bad marriages. However, not all "good" men are angels. We screw up. We're far from perfect. We're sometimes selfish and immature also. It takes two to really mess up a marriage after all, and the man did pick her to be his wife. It's not all her fault. He contributed to the poor quality of the marriage. I think it's important to point out that marriage is like ballroom dancing: it takes two to tango. You have to cooperate to have the dance at all. Ballroom dancing is an excellent metaphor for marriage, in my opinion. The man leads, but that doesn't mean he's more important, or more valuable, or anything like that. The man leads by initiating action, but his action has to be such that his partner enjoys it. The dance is for her pleasure, as well as showing her off to everyone else. That's why in competition, the man wears black, and the woman wears almost nothing at all. The purpose of the relationship is to make her look good, from the man's perspective. It's to support her in being the best she can possibly be, so the male lead in dancing is going to lead the steps that she enjoys and is capable of doing well. He's not going to lead her in something that she hates, or is not good at. One of the important things to say to a new female partner is "do you like to spin?" That helps him figure out which moves she may enjoy and which she may not.
@DirkWrightxyz

Further, there is confusion about patriarchy. It is not about suppressing women. It is about suppressing everything that is feminine. There is a huge difference there. All men and women have masculine and feminine qualities. See the definitions of yin and yang, for example, from Taoism. In the I Ching, the dominance of the masculine over the feminine is a condition of sickness. That's what we have today, since at least the ancient Greeks in 600 BC. The masculine and feminine energies have equal value. They must cooperate to have the dance at all. Thus, it falls on us to identify that which is feminine and that which is masculine and tailor our attitudes and beliefs to equally support both and not suppress, repress or otherwise incumber either of them. For example, a lot of modern feminism is about supporting the masculine side of women (equal work for equal pay, equal access to education, equal treatment before the law, etc.), which is fine, but it misses the fact that women are usually innately more feminine than masculine. Men value feminine women more than masculine ones, typically. We are turned on by feminine women, but not so much by masculine ones. Thus, to identify that which is feminine means accepting that our emotions have equal value to our intellect, for example. Our intuition, inspiration, and imagination have equal value to our ability to think logically. For most people, this is nonsense. They don't consider anything emotional, or intuitive, to be of any value at all. That is where patriarchy is really found. It's in the degradation of feminine expressions, such as intuition, emotion, inspiration and imagination. We disdain children because of their emotions and imagination, for example. We tell them that the ghost they are seeing in their bedroom is not real, when in fact the ghost is completely real and is merely a deceased person. That's how deep patriarchy is in our culture.
@DirkWrightxyz
@DirkWrightxyz 26 дней назад
What I have learned is that emotions don't have to be regulated, or controlled, as taught by the business gurus when they discuss the importance of emotional intelligence. They don't have to be put into a box, and they don't have to be suppressed in any way. What I have found is that emotions are like any other art form: the more you practice it, the better you become at expressing them. Further, the more I grieve, the less many thoughts from other people bother me. So, since emotion is a feminine quality, the idea that emotions need to be controlled and regulated is just more patriarchy. It's a judgement that emotions can become "out of control" when the entire idea of being in control is a masculine trait. The thing about emotions is that they exist in an entirely different universe. There is no such thing as a right or a wrong emotion. There is not such thing as a true of a false one either. Those terms don't apply to emotion. Not only that, emotion is mute. It doesn't use words like the logical mind. Thus, when we feel emotion, it is that part of us that is commenting on what is going on right now. Thoughts do not stimulate emotion. Think of it instead as two people, one is emotion and the other is logic. Logic goes "yadda yadda yadda" and emotion stimulates a feeling as commentary on what logic is saying.

My "frau" is quite emotional, and mostly not in a happy way. It gets worse when she drinks a lot of wine. She's critical and judgemental, and not always towards me; much of late has been at her brothers, especially since her step mother passed a few months ago. What really makes me spit out my coffee is her saying she "doesn't keep score" about people. Such bullshit. She has things from her childhood that she brings up at least one a week, or if she has been drinking, maybe twice in a discussion. You are 110% right about women focusing on the one mistake. Been that way for 47 of our almost 50 years of marriage. #9...boy howdy! Coming up on 19 years without. I have no idea why the hell I have tolerated it. No the absolute best most ridiculous thing my wife has let out of her mouth that was almost so wrong it was comical. He would complain about how her sisters were demanding and how they expect this or that. And back story she’s still bitching about things I’ve done 10 years ago and when I complain she says “well i dealt with it for years, you can’t handle a few months!?!” So she’s talking about her sisters and I say why don’t you speak up and put them in their place, her infamous line is “you know life’s to short I don’t don’t care I just let it go I’m not gonna hold a grudge life’s too short”. So. My reply was “ So you let everything go and hold no grudges or hard feelings with everyone BUT ME! Huh!?)” I swear b I shoulda’ve been a prosecutor cause when I corner her and she doesn’t like having her wrongs and lies pointed out “ her new line “ I don’t feel like answering questions right now!?”””” Lolololol. Holy cow. Imagine if I had used that phrase during one of her cross examinations. Hopefully someone can see the irony in it hopefully I laid it out in a good dialogue bb

Good men will admit they are wrong until they are constantly attacked by their wives for things they didn’t do or things their wives perceived they did. This is how the wife conditioned the good man into a state of defensiveness. The wife will then use this against the good man down the road and accuse them of never taking responsibility when they make an actual mistake.

To add another sad truth to your comment: a fair amount of good women/wives go to really insecure and weak men. I've seen it numerous times - a sweet young woman who is conscientious and a little naive who got swept up by a predatory guy who was full of insecurities, jealousy, and weakness. But, the guy knew how to prey on naive women, or the women became infatuated with him over a superficial quality, like the status of his job or that he was older. It's always sad to see. One guy swooped up a beautiful kind girl I knew, took her away from her parents, left the state, and got her fat and knocked up, which means totally dependent on him and helpless in another state. He was a food delivery driver and was pudgy, too, lol. My brother is a terribly insecure guy who lied to everyone most of his life about being in a gang, being an alcoholic, being in prison, and bear hunting (lol) just to be seen as cool. Of course, he was rewarded with a dotting, young, inexperienced, sweet wife who had his kid. Life is just ridiculous often times, haha. Finding a good partner is just an enormous amount of luck! You can be the most awesome man, but it doesn't mean you'll necessarily meet a decent woman.

I am pretty sure most women don't think there is such a thing as a 'bad wife.' Anything they do or don't do that you might point out will always be justified or dismissed. Until a few decades ago, women were expected to perform certain duties and behave in a certain way. Now a wife can choose to do whatever she wants and if the husband doesn't like it, he can leave and give her the house and half his income.
