My wife isn't necessarily this bad, most of the time..... But she gets in these moods where nothing about our house is right... It's cluttered, it's crowded, it's dirty, it needs to be organized, on and on... Said to the sole bread winner by a woman who doesn't work a single minute outside the home. My instinct is to say, "Well, clean and organize it then!" But I would catch hell for weeks and weeks

Are your requests reasonable to her or just to you? You don’t state any example of such requests? Or are they self-centered and/or you’re going to enforce your “authority” by becoming actually intimidating on purpose or because you have no self-control but she’s supposed to? Like my friend’s husband who demanded they’re going to have a 3-some and it’s all about him and gets loud and uses abusive language to try to get his own way. And he’s 6’4” towering over a 5’3” person and that’s not supposed to be scary… yeah to someone who has zero self-awareness and yet ironically no concern about anyone except themselves. Ummm go ahead and leave. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. But men like that don’t. They demand or ACTUALLY get physically or mentally forceful (keeping them from sleeping, interrupting their meals, etc.) to try to make her comply or leave, instead of taking responsibility for themselves and going elsewhere if they refuse to be content with a person who genuinely loves and cares for and once respected them, when they were more respectable.

@@augustcleavitt I'm talking about reasonable requests. Including things like asking for assistance in disciplining the children so I'm not always seen as the mean parent, selling things we don't use/need to get out of debt, and the children's education are a few examples. Not the ridiculous thing about a 3 some you mentioned.

When I got divorced, one of the last things I remember is my ex coming in and sitting down on the bed while I’m lying there just minding my own business. (We hadn’t separated yet) She looks at me until I look back (so she knows has my attention), and as coldly as you please, says , “I liked you better when you were mean” All that you say comports with my experience perfectly. If she can get you riled up, you have to feel guilty, and a guilty person can be manipulated. It’s all about power and control.

Claiming unhappiness is a tool. It is a demand for appeasement, that's why manipulative women prefer to claim they are unhappy rather than happy. Happy = content, therefore no demands can be made. The truth is they entered into that marriage refusing to accept their husbands would have expectations of them.

The key word is “manipulative”; manipulative PEOPLE do that, of all types and backgrounds. And yet if you refuse to do basic caring ACTIONS AND WORDS because you refuse to be manipulated (acting out of a root of fear of what MIGHT happen), you’re clearly the one with baggage and should get help/ therapy for your own sake, because you will sabotage EVERY relationship you’re ever in, including with children, because wherever you go, there you are.

Yesterday my wife said something that I didn't like and when I objected she said that I deliberately misunderstood her and was trying to put her down and gaslight her, blah blah blah. When I repeated verbatim what she had said she called me a liar. I know that i wasn't lying and that's one thing that I will not accept as it's a matter of integrity. Then she spent the next hour throwing everything I ever did or didn't do at me. My response to everything was to calmly say "yes but I'm not a liar and i won't discuss anything with you until that's resolved". She just went more and more crazy. I think at least five or six times she said "I don't want to discuss this anymore", but then a few minutes later would start again. By then end of it she was threatening divorce! All to avoid admitting what she said and that I wasn't lying. Fortunately this doesn't happen too often and I know to not show any aggression.

Try to get it on camera. Just to make sure it's actually that bad. Because it sounds like a deliberate destabilising abuse game, which implies strategy of some sorts.building a narrative, building up to 'well its deserved', the irregular going out that's not suspicious but 'your fault'...

Another fun way to destroy communication is to accuse him of saying something he did not say. Then a simple conversation is distracted off into him defending himself. It works until it doesn't.

What I have found is to tell them to repeat what you said when you find the conversation is off the rails. RARELY can they actually tell you what your argument even is, because they don't listen to meaning and context, they listen to key words and then only remember their FEELING in response to what you said. It's like every woman is playing telephone with 800 third graders between the two of you.

As a man, can verify that if ANY of my girlfriends acted this way, like spoiled little brats who didn't get their way; Id give them a warning then it'd be instantly over. Guys remember, how u deal with a woman's emotional bs or unstable communication or unwillingness to take responsibility for her own growth or happiness sets a standard for whst you will tolerate in the future. Women also do things and say things to test the boundaries. But yeah, find a woman who has some tegridy

@@Christoff070 and be a man with some tegridy lol and actually try to have COMPASSION AND LOVE for a woman you claimed to care about, especially since those are usually/ often among a woman’s greatest needs. Knowing your audience and expecting them to be WOMEN instead of a man with a vagina would also help.

A woman with thoughts and feelings that are usually valid even if expressed in a strong way that’s uncomfortable for the other person, instead of repressing them and acting like it’s okay to be treated as if “feelings” (especially strong ones) is supposedly acting like a spoiled brat. I hope you’re not a person who uses women for your own gratification and then claims those things when they show their disdain about it… talk about needing to have/ find/ learn some tegridy… integrity

@augustcleavitt Plus, the truth of the matter is... with women who are not emotionally mature... their friends will know how they feel, their family will know how they feel.... while their man is never told, properly expressed, and so on. Woman hates man, friends hate man, family hates man... man is like "I'm just working and providing for our future" Man gets cheated on, man has child taken away, man has no one, man continues working and moving on. Man also didn't abuse or harm anyone, emotional immaturity just interprets it as such.

My ex wife did everything in the world to provoke me until she got the reaction she wanted. When she finally left I was crying at first but then I asked myself why. I realized I was finally free and God me a life I could never have had if I was still married. Men, why are you propping up a dead horse? Move on and never look back. It is hard in the beginning but well worth it.

Literally in tears right now. 10 years of dealing with EXACTLY all the things you’ve said. I’m not one to cry, but she knew how to drive me to tears (in anger and frustration); she’d poke and prod until I’d lose it, then blame ME for my response. In the end, I found out she was doing all kinds of things behind my back and when I questioned her about it she flipped it. I got so frustrated that I moved to the basement to try to get myself together and away from her toxicity. To which she responded with even more vile attacks against me until the final straw of calling the police and falsely claiming the she didn’t feel safe with me in the house. The police officer suggested that I should leave before she made greater claims against me. As I grabbed myself walking out the door, she there with the biggest smile on her face. A woman can most assuredly break a man 😭😭

I had one like that for 30 years! Nothing ever worked. It was always my fault, even, when she got picked up for shoplifting! She blamed it on me while she had plenty of money. We guys finally got rid of them. Then we set rules. We don't co-mingle funds. Nobody writes checks or uses our credit cards unless for one specific project, and we check all the bills. Yes, we are terrible, but we have money in the bank, and accountability for everything. This is the only way we can survive and we stick to it! Our motto: "We don't care"!

More sweeping generalizations instead of setting healthy boundaries from the beginning or as you learn them, and seeing red flags and addressing them as you go… you could have had a separate account at any point before then, just like I did when I finally knew I needed an actual workable safety plan. because I guarantee most women don’t shoplift, lol. I don’t know how many MEN OR WOMEN are otherwise untrustworthy or squander money but it’s just as bad (per the Bible, like anyone cares about God’s word) to be stingey when your own flesh and blood are doing their best and are still actually in need of shelter, food, etc., and even a stranger. But if you’re the one who’s trustworthy then is it fair for me to think ALL men expect you to do it ALL on your own and all they have to do toward the relationship is go to work and do whatever they want with their time, money, etc., as if I married your f ing job or bank account. I married someone I thought cared about ME and not their perception or expectations of me or what they thought I’d produce. Heartbreak to find out otherwise and I’m only a means to an end.

This spoke deeply to me. My exwife refused to allow conversations to happen, “I was attacking her” amongst other items. Then after I said I was finished she accused me as the one who fostered an atmosphere of inability to communicate. Took a while to shake that disassociation.

My second wife refused to talk as well. What's funny is women refuse to talk as a manipulation tactic, and others will force you into overtalking every stupid little thing as a manipulation tactic. Anything to avoid being direct, tackling problems and getting over them so that you can live in peace and respect.

I recently came from a marriage counselling session feeling like the guy from Sleeping with the enemy because i get pushed to the breaking point once or twice a year and punch the wall or slam the door. Thanks for this video. Karyns videos seem to talk to me just at the right time in my life. I'm a good man, not violent and it hurt to think to think i am viewed this way, then, thanks to Karyn, my eyes are opened and I realize this is all cover to deflect

It's gets to a point as a man where I don't care how she feels if she's playing this game. If she's being human and just wants me to empathize, then I can understand that. But if she's playing this game to create drama and avoid her issues, then I hit her with the cold hard facts. If she's being immature I call it out and I don't stand for it. I am a grown ass man with a purpose and a direction in life, and I don't have time for childish behavior. So I tell her to either grow up or get out, because I'm done wasting my time. And then I leave her to think about it while I pursue my purpose. And eventually she either follows or gets outta the way. Because a man with a creative, passionate purpose outside of her is a man she can look up to and follow. But if you're too focused on solving her problems then she's gonna know your world revolves around her and she's going to lose respect for you.

It is like you are living rent free in my head. I am in a long term relationship, and we both just turned 50. She needs me to tell her how to be compassionate towards another human when they are suffering. You are correct about not solving the problem. I expressed that I didnt feel appreciated at all. She proceeded to show appreciation for, get this, one whole day! It went right back to how it was 2 days later. Women used to be as delicate as flowers. Now they are as delicate as a cactus!

The reason that conflicts or differences of opinion between men and women go so wrong is that both parties are worked up emotionally, but while men try to resolve the issue, women want to vomit their emotions into the man's lap.

The point you made about how the weaponized communication pushes us to anger. There's been moments in my marriage where this exact thing has happened and it pushed me to such anger I said things I couldn't take back. And since then ive been in the doghouse because of those things. But no attention has been directed to how I was provoked. Communication with women is very often a lose/lose game. This is why im no focusing on my passions and purpose outside of my relationship. Because if she's not willing to communicate, there's nothing I can do. It's a waste of energy. So I'm gonna spend my time elsewhere. And since doing this, I've noticed the dynamic has shifted big time. And she's more willing to open up when she sees I'm not focused on her.

I had a similar experience. I went to get non-aggression training, because as a man I take responsibility for my actions; after some sessions the trainer told me that my problem wasn't that I was aggressive, but the situation I was in.

With my first wife, after the divorce she admitted to me that once she "got mad" in an argument, she was no longer trying to solve anything, just to make me mad back. Meanwhile I spent HOURS wasting my time and pre-maturely aging myself because I thought she actually gave a shit about solving the problem so we could move on with the relationship. A lot of men are unknowingly sleeping with their worst enemy.

I learned female nature and dating techniques during my mid-twenties to condition myself into a “bad boy”. I got more ass than a toilet seat, but in the end, it just wasn’t worth it. Men (young) often don’t take no for an answer (they hang around and be “friends” hoping she’ll eventually say yes) or heed heathy boundaries unless they’re forced to… that doesn’t mean the woman is doing ANYTHING wrong. They can’t get in unless they force themselves on her or she’s an adulteress. Men wanting something or maybe having bad boundaries doesn’t make a woman an adulteress. I now am much older and have a few definite men friends who I may text and if I am ever married again I won’t not be friends with anyone just because a man is insecure, but then I wouldn’t get to that point with someone that insecure, God willing. You apparently put “women” all in one lump in one box and then try to claim any issue in the relationship is because it’s her fault or the man “doesn’t have a spine.” SMH He can (and should?) address ACTUAL issues in the relationship without trying to force her to be friends or not with certain people which rarely works. She’s an ADULT and gets to decide who her friends are. Period. A person who is reasonable and really loves and or cares about their mate or partner will always figure out the false motives of others who would try to come in the middle of that relationship. I have a 2 month old son. Unfortunately I realized while pregnant that my son's mother doesn't actually view happiness as a goal and constantly sabotages our lives with her hysterical emotions and need for drama. She literally just had to stay home and be pregnant but she couldn't manage that, I paid for everything. I would ask her when she was starting to rage "Do you WANT to have a nice weekend or just argue the entire time?" So much of what you're talking about I have witnessed with my wife. However, we are one of the fortunate ones because our relationship turned a corner and she has become the ideal wife and I try every day to be the ideal husband for her. I wish this kind of content was available decades ago, but the knowledge itself is only part of the battle. You also need to know how and when to apply it, when to swallow your pride, and of course you need to get lucky once in a while. But it is possible. We'll be celebrating our 21st anniversary next week. One way to deal with communication issues is: think first, then speak 🙂 Think about the issue at hand - if you haven't yet, ask for time to think about it. Once you have figured out the problem, all attempts to distract you (aggression, provocation, faked emotions) will be futile. Focus on the problem, communicate clearly to stay on topic, look each other in the eyes while talking. Ohhhh I can tell you, that makes manipulative drama queens (of both genders!) VERY uncomfortable 😃 Exactly how it should be. Help them to overcome these toxic behaviors by being the better person.

Hearing a woman talk about the things women do to hurt men is so taboo it makes me feel like I’m ten years old looking at a friend’s dad’s dirty magazines. Like, at some point a woman is going to hear me gasping, then burst through the door, snatch my phone away, and lecture me for several hours over why I shouldn’t view this filth.
