I always described the difference between sympathy and empathy, where I thought sympathy was ‘feeling with’ and empathy was more like rational compassion :P, clearly need to read the 3d book 👍🏼
Timely subject, indeed, and important books. The simple act of reading is like performing squats for the empathy muscles. Every book, even novels, puts us in the mind of someone else and invites us to see the world for someone else’s perspective.
Loved this video! This is such an important conversation to have with everything that's going on. I'm especially intrigued by the book 'Against Empathy. I will have to check it out!
