For air fried potatoes, we use another method. We take the raw potato and either slice in rounds or the traditional fry shape. Then add a tablespoon of water, cover and into the microwave for about 2 minutes...just enough to soften slightly, but leave firm. Then put right into the air fryer. They come out really browned and crispy and beautiful...perfect!!!

What a great interview. I attended one of the last in-person programs in Santa Rosa in October of 2019. I had already been an ethical vegan for several years and leaned more WFPB but I learned so much more at the Immersion and have continued that lifestyle since then. Would be happy to give a testimonial. I love Heather and all of the McDougalls and their presenters at the program. My favorite is Jeff Novick. You should have him on your program!!

Wow, that was an amazing interview! Heather is gorgeous and I love how she reiterated about nuts and seeds. I love Dr John McDougall and really believe in what he says. Although this is so, I get confused as to other plant base doctors saying you need to eat nuts and seeds for ultimate health. This has finally cleared this up for me. Thank you AJ, you interviews are fabulous ❤️

Really inspiring interview...what stands out for me personally IS being vegan for COMPASSION...it is totally bizarre for me to imagine eating flesh and animals! I love that there is a whole community in the world feeling the same. Before the media and technology it was isolating. Thank you chef AJ for hosting such episodes that bring us all into familiar territory😊🐇 #vegan4life4animas

The thing that people used to use if they were prone to getting gas from beans was called Beano. I'm watching this video and I'm going vinobino and I knew that you couldn't hear me because we're not in the same space perhaps the same headspace but definitely enough physical space. Let Ms McDougall know about beano

I have tried everything under sun dealing with gas issues eating beans. It would be a long post if I listed everything I’ve done. I’ve been plant based for 8 yrs. I’m going on 67yr old, and it seems to be getting worse. I’ve cut way down (~1/4c),and it’s helped. Recently when I soak the beans I’ll rinse them 4 time over 24hrs and have starting using epazote. I’ve tried that enzyme, that starts with an ‘A’. I’ll try that other one. Thinking of doing ‘Gut Mapping’ to analyze what the heck is going.

It's so interesting what you say about nuts and seeds. I need them for fat, just like avos. I am very muscular though, so maybe that is why, you are both very slender and petite. =D I also find them incredibly satiating.

@@jgrysiak6566 we are all different. If we listen to our bodies they will tell us! I personally need things like avocados, nuts and seeds.

@@Veganvipassi , U never went through the fat withdrawal. Once u go through it u won't have a craving for those fatty foods anymore. They will just be a memory, an old habit!
@Veganvipassi
@Veganvipassi 2 года назад
@@jgrysiak6566 Again, everyone is different. If I don't eat higher fat foods it has a negative effect on my body. Low BMI is just as bad as high. It isn't about cravings at all, it's about health and longevity. Too little body fat can cause very damaging deficiencies of fat soluble vitamins, and that's just one example.

@nazokashii
@nazokashii 3 года назад
I think she was just referring to the idea in general of making a meal with everything in one pot, so you don't get so much dishes to do :) the McDougall website has a lot of great recipes if you go here: www.drmcdougall.com/health/education/recipes/mcdougall-recipes/ if you search for "one pot", there are two pasta recipes that you can try, but they have soooo many recipes of all types. Soups would of course also be one pot meals, and I guess a lot of wok/stir-fry recipes would or could be, stews as well... hope you find something nice to try :) cheers from Sweden!
